Double click the "EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon" value on the right pane
Change the value to 1 (decimal) (recovery note: default value is 0)
Reboot your phone one last time and you got your "E". The indicator will still show "G" when you're in a GPRS only area.

Your operator support works?
I own the t-mobile SDA (US) and can't get the reg edit for the edge icon to work. I do the following:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
Double click the "EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon"
Change the value to 1 (decimal) (recovery note: default value is 0)
Reboot your phone one last time and you got your "E". The indicator will still show "G" when you're in a GPRS only area
I then press done and I get the following message: Error- Unable to perform this operation.
If any one has any answers and can help me out I thank you in advance

I was able to edit my reg but I had to download a specific program. From what I have picked up part of my sda's registry was locked. The only way to edit was to get the HTC certified editor. I found it and now I can edit. I did the following:
I installed "PHM Registry Editor" on my phone
then I installed "regeditSTG.zip" after that I could edit all I wanted
regeditSTG.zip can be found about 3/4 down on the following page
http://www.modaco.com/Tweak_for_iMate_SP5_SP5m-t230975.html
you may also have to use the following program which can be found on the same page
SDA_ApplicationUnlock.zip
I hope this helps
ch0mik,
first of all you have to unlock your Qtek 8310.
After this you will be able to enable [E].
I also have Qtek 8310 and it works in Poland Orange and [E] icon is displayed.

Baca
thats right - i have now "E"

What was the title problem?
I think, the Qtek's registry was locked and ch0mik was unable to change the registry setting.
After the un-lock he probably changed registry and it works

Please help, this is very annoying. Each time I do a soft reset and the Machine boots up again I get the error:
The file "" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file

I suspect some damaged autostart item causing this, since it says << file "" >>. I checked the Windows/AutoStart folder and could not find anything suspicious. What other ways do exist in WM5 to autostart programs ? I have to find that entry... it's really annoying.

Following registry key check you must:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Init
To desktop Run key equivalent it is.
I could not find any suspicious entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Init.
However I checked out HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\ in the belive that these are system services loaded on startup (?). I noticed one strange anomaly: All the services listed there have a string value named "DLL" that has a path to a dll assigned to it. The service "Trusted" however has an empty DLL string value. Could this be the cause? Could someone else check if they have the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\Trusted on their Prophet and if there is a value assigned to the DLL string ?
Hmm, didn't know about that one, but now that you mention it, here's what I have under HKLM\Services\Trusted:
PushRouter pushrouter.dll
SIMInit siminit.dll
SIMToolkit simtkit.dll
WSPPush wsppush.dll
Push mail is on so I guess that's why they are there. No key named 'DLL' though. I think it will be safe to remove the empty entry, but you should back up your data just in case.
P.S. Any links in your startup folder? The link may look normal but could have a bad string inside cosing the problem. Just a thought.
Here is what's in my Startup folder:
CapNotify.lnk: 32#"\Windows\CapNotify.exe"
custTDYTSK.exe
GamePad.exe
HomeZone Core: 36#"\Windows\V2R\Homezone\HomeZone.exe"
HomeZone Display: 44#"\Windows\V2R\Homezone\HZDisplayDataSMP.exe"
Init_Tray.lnk: 39#"\Windows\Init_Tray.exe"
PhotoContacts.lnk: 51#"\Programme\Photo Contacts PRO\PhotoContacts.exe" "-silent"
poutlook.lnk: 21#:MSPOUTLOOK
sddaemon.lnk 58#"\Windows\sddaemon.exe"
Services.lnk: 26#"\windows\spbservices.exe"
Removing the Bluetooth gamepad driver from the autostart did the trick. It was written for WM2003 and apparently generates this error on WM5. However starting the driver after the device is fully loaded does not generate the error, so I'm going with this. Thanks for your help.
Is it a way to disable edit of Owner's Info with current data - maybe registy entry....
even if you disable it when you do a hard reset you will be able to edit it again
shogunmark - I know about it.
I need it, because from time to time I accidently hit owner info and info is changed. I would like to limit this posibility.
After hard reset still I need to fill out info.
are you talking about accidentally hitting it on the today screen?
Yes,
Sometimes when I have phone in side case is accidentally hits on user info, and sometimes changes inputed data

You can make the item on the today screen non-selectable
In the registry
goto HKLM\software\microsoft\today\items\
then goto owner info and give 'selectability' a value of 0
Close down via power button and startup - owner info should not be selectable i.e. highlightable on the today screen.
meschle - your's solution is half what i am looking.
What I am exactly looking is selectability=1 and when you enter everything would be non-changable. Like all fields label not text boxes. I do not know how to descibe it diffrently.

I dont think that is possible the info is in HKCU\controlpanel\owner and there are no parameters to make it non-changable.
You could have a static xml plugin but the result is essentially the same as option 1.

I did it in my hermes without success. I can still select it and change the info.
Is there anything that I've missed? Thanks.
You are right that tweak is only to make it non-selectable via d-pad not the stylus - the only way then is to have a plugin that allows text input and is totally non-selectable e.g. a xml plugin - there are a number around.
You can try rlToday
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=269650&highlight=rltoday
edit the XML file to display whatevr information you want. I don't think it is selectable.
Can't download, the site is down, I'll try again later.
Thanks

I've tried the Owner Info X plugin vijay cited.
It had a problem appearing consistently--the plugin's today slot would, at times, have nothing in it.
Dunno if the problem was fixed in a newer version of the plugin, though.
Thanks Vijay, worked as I wanted.
Thanks again
if you want to change the right softkey all you have to do is:
1: Download my manila file
2: Backup the original 07c67730_manila file in your windows folder
3: Copy my manila file to your windows folder
4: With your favorite registry editor goto: HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila
5: Change: HomeRSKPath / HomeRSKText / HomeRSKArguments to what ever you like
For contacts change HomeRSKPath to: Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
To remove quick Links without the menu all you do is hold the quick link you dont want for about 3-4 seconds and then drag it away this works on my rom but gessing its the same for all roms

FYI, I used HD2Tweaks to achieve the same result without the hassle of backup up/copying manila files, going into the registry etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=588652
Nice iv never used hd2tweaks before gess ill have to make mine even better so that it will have some use
*EDIT*
After testing hd2tweaks the right softkey setting never worked for me so i gess this is for people where hd2tweaks dont work
*EDIT*
Don't know if it's the Dutty ROM I have, Co0kie's Home Tab, or the ROM that you use, but the long-hold on quicklinks does nothing for me. Shame, because that sounded like a nice feature.
im also useing duttys rom so i gess its the Co0kie's Home Tab
I'm using an old version of a Dutty ROM - HG v0.8. It could be something that he himself introduced, if you're using a later version than me, but if that's the case then I'm pretty sure installing Co0kie's Home Tab would stop it working.
Im useing dutty HG 2.9
I was trying to make a customizable right softkey menu but run into some problems. I could make any of the menu items run anything that i set in the registry but i could not change the menus text
E.G i could make it so that when you click on somethink like Set Local Time and Date it would open the all people page but i could not change the text from saying Set Local Time and Date to say Contacts or any kind of text
the menu is loaded from Manila://home_menu.dialog if anyone knows how i can make my own .dialog so i can change the menu it would be grate
Thank you Splder!
It is perfect!
Hi,
1) I installed an exchange email account. During the installation of the email account, a password was asked to be set for unlocking (mandatory).
After that, every time the system locked the device, I had to re-enter that password, pretty annoying.
2) I installed S2U2 V2.41 on my HTC HD2 (WM 6.5).
Result: The "normal" locks by the system (after a certain time) got rid of the password unlock, the nice S2U2 slider allows to unlock the system without password - great.
However, even with S2U2 installed, when I power-on the device, I get the HTC system slider and need to enter that password before the device even boots up completely. Can't disable it.
3) I installed "Disable Auto Device Lock.cab" ("forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5406239").
Result: I could not notice any change - still same behaviour on power-on: I need to unlock it through the HTC system slider and enter that password. Can't disable it.
Anyone who has/had the same problem?
Anyone with a solution?
Thanks so much...
Peter

There is no such value in the registry.
I am not sure why you would expect a saved password in S2U2, as it clearly is NOT a S2U2 lock but a system lock. We are more looking for a saved password in any of the system entries.
Peter
There is no need to run registry tweeks.
You can disable the WM slide lock from the S2U2 settings menu.
I think it was under the advance settings "disable WM lock"

Of course this setting is in the "ON" position...
Had the same Problem...
Solved it by setting the Boot-Delay in Advanced S2U2 Settings to 12sec.
Hi,
i know it´s just one klick on the magnifier but is there a shortcut?
The contact-ink now reads "\Windows\ManilaShortcut.exe" people/browserlayer/peopleAll. I tried it with Search & AllSearch but that leads right back to homescreen.
Any hints?
Regards
idephili
Try:
"\Windows\manila.exe" --switchtopage Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
Hi,
in my *.ink i´ve tried:
72#"\Windows\Manila.exe" --switchtopage Manila://people/browserlayer/?.page
but i just get the standard Manila list and not the searchpage. Any mistake by me or not possible at all?
(not really important i know, but....)

"\Windows\manila.exe" --switchtopage Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
Your backslashes are wrong.
Unfortunately it doesn´t work.
Just to avoid misunderstandings, i still get the "normal" list but i like to have the search page:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I used the settings in HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila:HomeLSKPath (\windows\...) and HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila:HomeLSKArguments ( --switchtopage...) and it didn´t work, either.
I´ll keep on searching...

Would love to know if you come up with a solution to this.
Using a MortScript file as below (you must have MortScript in yr HD2)
Code:
Run ( "\Windows\ManilaShortcut.exe", "people/browserlayer/peopleAll" )
Sleep ( 1500 )
aw = ActiveWindow()
GetWindowPos ( aw, left, top, right, bottom )
MouseClick ( aw, right-64, top+16 )

Hi,
great idea. But with your code i get "new contact." wrong clickposition, i presume.
I changed it - with try and error, never did everything with mortscript - and just top, no +16, works.
Code:
Run ( "\Windows\ManilaShortcut.exe", "people/browserlayer/peopleAll" )
Sleep ( 1500 )
aw = ActiveWindow()
GetWindowPos ( aw, left, top, right, bottom )
MouseClick ( aw, right-64, top )
Clicking is visible, but neverthelless. Perhaps that´s because of my HD2.
For those who don´t know what to do:
1. Install mortscript, don´t know actual version, attached worked. It´s only a script-runner, not an editor, installed folder on start can be deleted.
2. Open Texteditor, paste code, change file-extension from *.txt to *.mscr, copy to phone, click it, that´s it....
Thanks a lot to t2008
P.S. But the time gap between screen-appearance and mouseclick is funny...
