Hi guys,
I decided to try android on my Polaris
I copied everything needed and launched haret.exe
First time launch went fine, I saw the happy penguin but the message to press DPAD-Center took my by surprise
So I rebooted (hard reset) and launched haret.exe second time
This time screen get messy and the phone froze
Next couple tries get to messy screen or brightness going to 100% but always in frozen screen
What I am doing wrong? My Radio is 1.59.44.02
Thanks
I found the problem..
I had to set board-htcpolaris.panel_type=1 and now this stuff is installing

Hi all.
Yesterday I installed a cab file that required my phone to reboot. Once I started to do so, my phone froze on the 'at&t world phone' screen during power up. I've removed the battery several times and tried to restart it but it freezes the same way everytime. I've also used the reset button to no avail.
Is there any other way to get it working or is it done for good?
Just hard reset it; hopefully, you remembered to back everything up before you installed the cab. If you didn't, then consider it a lesson learned. The device isn't bricked, but the cab must've screwed up the startup process somehow so that now the device won't start up.
I've seen a few similar issues on the web with various devices... I believe mine to be a bit different though.
Before today my Blackjack 2 (Windows Mobile 6.1) worked perfectly fine, it fell today and the battery went flying out of the phone. I put it back together and it was working fine. a few hours later i realized the phone shut off on its own. Well, it does that sometimes for me since it is over 2 years old and is quite beat up, so I took it as normal behavior, i started it up, and…. it hangs on the windows mobile green splash screen.
Whenever I shut it down, the loading circle that normally pops up, shows on the screen as its shutting down. I've actually gotten it to show the status bar (signal strength, battery, etcetera, however the rest of the screen remained at the splash screen.
Bootup process: it shows the Samsung splash screen, then the AT&T animation, and then the windows mobile splash screen where it finally hangs. When I plug it into my computer using the data cable, it dings on connection, and my computer starts to connect, but then errors out.
I'd like to try to avoid a hard reset or re installation if possible… just added a bunch of contacts that I haven't backed up, and I don't know their numbers off hand, so I'd have to wait for them to call/text me or until i see them again.
Also, if I have to perform a hard reset, I'm unsure if the phone will actually work after-wards since this did appear to begin after it hit the ground.
Since installing WM 6.1 I have not installed any software/programs/apps on the device, just some new contacts. It's not the sim card, my friend has the same phone so I tried it out on his and it worked fine.
Anyone able to advise on this?
Sorry for the double post, decided to format anyways. I have a trip tomorrow and absolutely needed a functional phone. It is now functioning perfectly fine, boot time is a bit longer than usual but it does boot.
Any idea what could have caused this and how to avoid the issue in the future?
I went to upgrade to the ultrafast, ultralight ROM, found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=665081
I installed it through Active Sync. It worked fine until I got the setup screen. (Yes, I followed all the instructions found here, for noobs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008) However, as soon as I do the initial reboot and then go to set up the screen it won't set up. I touch the screen on the cross hairs and it sits there for 5-15 minutes. Then it moves to the next cross hair. Fine, I have all day! So once I get to the last crosshair it starts all over again. This has happened 5 times. So I ditched that ROM and moved to Timlol's, to see if that would make a difference. I installed it from the MicroSD card. Same thing. I have reinstalled it now 5 times from the card and every time the same thing.
Ideas?
Update
I tried the Remote ScreenAlignment and that didn't help. When I activated the skip button it left me the message "No screen alignment information can be found for your device." However, I figured it out. I can't believe how easy it was. Instead of tapping the screen I held the stylus on the screen until it jumped to the next crosshair. Blush. I never ran into this before, having had 2 Touch Pros for the last 9 months.
Moved as not ROM Development.
Try placing welcome.not file on the root of storage card have attached as have to make sure welcome.not and noy welcome.not.txt
hi guys, faisal here. I bought a chinese smartphone few days ago. It has OS: windows mobile 6.5 professional, 480*800 full touch screen, gps and some other features and written htc on the back of the cover. It's a bit slow but works . But two days ago, I saw a pop up screen showing some kind of error (I forgot the name of the file, but the file probably starts with "c....."). I tap the ok button, then another error message came (this time it was google maps), I again tap the ok button, but it was not moving from the today screen. I thought restarting will solve this problem. I restarted it. It started normally, but when the brown windows screen came it got stuck, I thought It's just taking time, I waited an hour, but there was no today screen, only the brown screen and it happens every time I start it till now.
How can I solve this problem? I read some article on rom flashing, but rom flashing probably needs an active device and synchronized.
guys please give some solution......
Hello. Sorry in advance if this is the wrong thread. I own a pretty old 1 year old tablet that currently has a problem.
Important info: Android 5, No access to a computer for 2 weeks (vacation), slightly cracked screen (still works), I had to install a Play Store apk as the one I had previously was corrupt. Tablet was functioning fine until the moment of the incident (except for the play store apk, which I later fixed).
Minor detail: Once the screen turns on after a restart the pixels near the top of the screen seem to turn purple for a second when I tilt the tablet.
Here is the story:
I was watching a YouTube video and suddenly my tablet froze. I thought: "Uhh, another freeze how annoying," and waited for it to load. I did not unfreeze. I thought: "Well, I guess I'll be fine if I turn my tablet off and on. This is where I got worried. My Power key was not responding. I tried the volume keys. Nothing. I tried connecting a mouse and moving it around. Still nothing. I thought "Ok, lets try restarting it" I did that by holding the Power key down for 10 seconds. To my relief, it turned off. But when it was turning back on again, it was at the loading screen for a little to long. It usually takes 5 seconds to get past the loading screen and enter the boot screen. I decided to wait. 1 minute: nothing. 5 minutes: nothing. I got worried. I tried restarting the tablet again. I restarted successfully but was stuck at the loading screen again. The was no movement on the screen. Only the loading screen. I decided to try the restart backup button which I could activate by putting a pin in a small hole at the back. It had the same effect holding down the power key had. I decided to ue my backup plan: recovery mode. I successfully entered recovery mode. I chose the option "clear cache" and tried to boot again. No changes. I did a scan for any root errors. it said that there were 5 errors, but there was nothing I could do about that. I tried doing a factory reset, then booting up. The reset was successful, but I got the same effect as always. No changes. I gave up and tried to google a solution on my phone. Most of them told me to install a PC program, but one told me to do the same thing I already did: reset, restart. So I decided to let the tablet sit with the boot screen for 2 hours. When I came back, there was no change at all. I tried searching again for a solution. A YouTube video said that the boot time after factory resets may be long, so I decided to reset and let it sit for a bit. 20 mins later, no changes at all. Finally, I gave up and now try to ask for help here.

Was your device rooted? Did you have TWRP custom recovery installed? If you don't have either of these two things then your only option is to flash the stock firmware via PC.
Do a google for:
"Return to stock (your model number)"
If what you need is out there somewhere, that woll find the instructions, the tools and the file(s) you need.
