My buddy sold me his G1 and said it was rooted. I can confirm because I can boot into the new mode. I want to install themes but I know there are certain themes for certain roms. How can I tell which one I have so I install the right theme?

My HBOOT is on 1.0 , how do i go to 0.43 ?
any help guys ?
DAMN. Need some reply guys ! Here il put it once again nicely for you:
I just downgraded my legend from 2.2 froyo to 2.1 , 1.3X build. I want to root it but my HBOOT version is 1.00. Will this be a problem because i think i require 0.43? If so , how do i proceed ?
Also I would like to go to Froyo again. Therefore which ROM is the original FROYO ROM for Legend which is on root and also provides ROOT ?
Also i would like to know if we are on ROOT , can we change ROMS on the fly ? Like , when and where we want without the need for a PC ?
well I have no experience with your phone model at all, but couldn't you just try and download one of the root apps from the market? I used one click lag fix on my galaxy s, but I don't know if it would work with your model.
As for roms, I use rom manager and that allows me to flash to new roms whenever I want without the need of a computer.

Rom manager is an app in the market. But, you must be rooted and more importantly, make sure that your phone is compatible with everything. Clockwork is a modified recovery menu that comes with rom manager. It has a lot more options than the stock recovery menu. Rom manager and clockwork are very helpful in creating backups in case you cant boot up or something but can still access the recovery menu.
Make sure you know how to fix your phone if you ended up bricking it, that the rom you look at is compatible with your current setup, etc...
But like I said, I know nothing about your phone at all so it could work differently. Read up on everything you can in the Forums for it.

Hey guys, got the new sidekick. Was wondering if anyone knows how to Nand-unlock it yet. Not even sure what that means really, but I downloaded a font changer application and it said it needed to be Nand unlock. My phone is rooted from rageagainstthecage.arm5
not sure if I will have to unroot it or what.
Also is there a certain root that is better or are they all prettymuch the same?
and whats the word on custom roms for this phone?
Thanks
Kristin
no custom roms as of right now.. no idea if anyone is working on them..
i just got my code unlock from Samsung, and it works....i think you can get it from samsung
once you reach complete root they are all the same...you just root different devices in different ways
Progress is being made to port clockwork recovery to the phone.. once we have that, some custom ROMs should start appearing.. im planning on creating one, but first things first

hi can anybody help me to update my phone, I am outside the US and obviously it doesn't let me do an OTA update, is there any other way?
is there a way to get the latest skyrocket stock rom somewhere? I also want to unbrand my skyrocket,
thanks
Best way seems to be rooting, installing CWM then flashing the rom in CWM. Debranding Im not sure of, I've heard that custom boot animations must be kernel supported, and therefore can't really debrand on stock. I for one would be grateful if anyone could tell me simply how to remove the Rogers splash screens on boot and shutdown on the stock rom itself

By unbrand do u mean run an aosp rom . Or use on a different network. Not att..? Tovuse on a diff network u need to go to one of the websites like cellunlockr. Root and install cwm recovery and u can change the rom when ever u choose. Look in the dev section...read
Theres guides to all of that
OK, so I've got a totally stock ROM and I've unlocked the bootloader, put TWRP custom recovery on and rooted mt Nexus 5 and all is going well.
The only thing is I know there is at least one OTA update and because of the changes I've made I cannot get them.
Try as I might, I cannot find anywhere to download the OTAs and flash them manually. I have seen this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47128349&posted=1#post47128349 which says it lists the updates available but it makes no mention of which one I need or if I need both of them or which order to do them in if I need to install them all.
Can anyone help? I've been doing this since Eclair and have installed many custom ROMS on many different phones but this is the first time I've come up against something I need some help with.
If someone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.
Cheers.
I have HTC ONE SV with 4.2.2 Sense 5
I was on moonshine with S Off... but now it says LOCKED. I dont know what LOCKED means??
I had TWRP on it and it was ROOTED but not anymore since the RUU update to 4.2.2
Here is what im asking
I was wondering if someone could tell me how or point me to another forum or site so i can REROOT my phone? I dont remember how because the stuff i used to root it before was on my stolen computer.
Also, which recovery is best to use for this phone?
I hear there are problems with moonshine? Is there another one that would be better? and where n how?
Once my phone is ROOTED and S OFF again with good recovery .. I want to figure out how to get all the unwanted apps off and be able to install to sd card or phone storage.
Also would like to overclock if possible
I want to be able to change other settings if possible to do more that arent currently on the phone.
And finally I want to be able to edit build.prop to make the phone have better network speeds and other stuff. Any good scripts??
is there any good mods for this phone?
Should I see about installing Venom? or is there something better?
You could use any system app uninstaller to remove all the bloatware...
Link2Sd is the fastest way to move apps to your sd card but first you have make a partition using the app Aparted (ext 2, up to 2 gb)
Do not use the Venom rom because it is not fast at all... there are good mods but those mods can be installed on the stock rom using the xposed framework
The best kernel is the stock kernel.. There are other kernels.. like two but they are very unstable...
Check out my xposed mods thread.. I have listed all the mods take work on the stock rom...
