Backup your current setup before trying to flash this.
Ok folks I FINALLY figured out how to get a clear background on the Weather Widgets. This is NOT the HTC Clock/Weather widget. This will mod the actual weather widget itself. I know in 1.5 we were able to modify the background by making it transparent. As we all know HTC decided to play the xml game with us. Through vigorous xml editing I FINALLY achieved a clear weather widget on both the medium and small versions. The large version would look dumb clear so I didnt do it...I may do it later on...Here is a flashable update to update the weather widget. If you are on the latest 2.1 rom, download the one named clearweather-sprint-signed.zip. If you're using RegawMOD Rom download the one for that since apparently they are all different...weird. I also attached the current com.htc.WeatherWidget.apk. Thanks to Jerry for putting that up. Keep in mind you may need to go into Applications and clear HTC Sense as well as the Weather Widget cache. Let me know if it works. Now for a screenshot...

Try and reboot. If it doesnt work, than it doesnt work. You shouldve made a bakup if you didnt...
Can others with the normal Sprint 2.1 rom try this...Backup first before you do. It may not work...

After working a bit with Vince, it works for Regaw 2.1/
I have been looking for this fix for a while now... Ill be keeping my fingers crossed that you can get it working. Thanks.

Try clearing HTC Sense and Weather Widgets in Applications. I got the same thing you did and I cleared everything and it worked...In the meantime i'll grab the .apk from the latest 2.1 roms and mod it.

What do you mean? It is working...My screenshots show that its working. Clear HTC Sense and Weather Widgets in Applications. Then reboot and see if it works...

Im not sure which or how i got the transparent lockscreen, im rooted running fresh 1.1 with gumbo kernel. i just noticed today though that when i am playing music and the lockscreen is displaying the cover art.... its not transparent anymore. my question is this, am i the only one? did it flash bad? is there a way to get that part transparent as well?

So I've been pushing this framework-res.apk to my phone from alpha 1-16. Now that the new dump/leak was released it puts me in a boot loop. I was wondering if someone could please fix it to work in alpha 17+?.. Thank you very much..

Did not try it but shouldn't work because it was based off the original leak Paul had.. 17 is "all new" lol and I don't like the kspec battery thank you very much for the help though
You could try sending the creator a PM to see if he's willing to re-create it for A17.
/shrug I like the one I linked because I find the bottom part much more aesthetically pleasing (the smoothness versus the harsh dots and horizontal lines).

yeah the apk you post most likely wont work then.. big changes in 17 and no wipe needed
Bump for great justice. I'd love, love, love one for the latest Desire ROM too. Sense is probably more complicated to theme, but still.
That or we'll have to wait for the Desire to come out and hope that themes that work on it will also work for us. Heh.

what rom are you using? alpha 17?.. and how'd you set it? using metaporph?
i modified Kspec's morph for CM 5.05 to add the MMS icon and transparent backgrounds to my device and i haven't had any problem. you'll have to reboot after applying the framework change. pic one shows the transparent background and pic 2 shows the MMS icon (second from left in top status bar) from the morph. diclaimer: Nandorid first, then apply, you assume all risk!
EDIT: removed the zip, because i had problems with the transparent slider after testing a 3rd time.

metamorph must not be working for me it reboots by itself it doesn't ask me and i hone boots up fine it just doesn't show anything changed....

Hello. Sorry I haven't responded. I've been real busy with work and stuff. I will upload the new apk when I get home.
All I do though is open the apk and replace the status bar background with a transparent one and push it back to the phone.
I'm sure you could do it yourself but I'll do it when I get home later tonight and post it on here.
How would one go about replacing the border bars?

I updated the first post.
you can still use it but when you scroll the letters are out of order.
And to answer your question, no. we need the htc dailer and people app for their core fuctionality but you can set defaults to use the aosp stuff.
Darchdroid has the full AOSP dailer and I love it. I hate the htc dailer.
This will not install on my CDMA Hero.
During installation it throws this error "Application not installed"

That is normal. If you put the blue phone icon on your screen, and click it it will open to the dialer.
here's it is as a signed Zip. I found it on one of the ROM threads. Can't remember who made it, but credit to them...

here is a red version of the dialer. The Buttons for the in call screen r in the htc dialer/phone apk i believe. unless u change those they will not change in the in call screen. the contacts apk is just the four tabs that u see in the pic.

The launcher is a "similar" version to the ZenEXP, though it is similar only in functionality, but not codebase. However, that's old news, lol.
I'm referring to something else that we haven't had on Fresh, yet...

This took a lot of finessing to get working on Fresh 2.1.2. I have to get in touch with Flipz to discuss, as it is likely going to require a new dot release (2.1.3?), due to certs / signing issues.
Consider this a teaser...stay tuned.

are you working on the news reader also? considering all the frameworks you have gone thru at this point.

I'm only one person! If you had any idea the time (read hours/days) it takes to do this stuff, you'd understand there's only so much I can personally tackle.
I have no idea if it is possible or not. Would assume it is. It's just not on my personal radar at this point.

Ummm, no, I didn't. Darch is a good man, but I've never run one of his ROMs, so I don't know what that is. I pulled pieces from DC, so credit to the anonymous source who got this going on Sprint based ROMs originally. I just "made" it work on Fresh as well, by figuring out what was done / needed.

Obviously, since I have no idea what it is, it isn't on my radar at all! As you can imagine, I prefer to work on things that I'm personally motivated to use...

edit: btw, how come the weather doesn't show up? im using DarchDroidv2.8. im guessing its because i'm not using sense right? if thats the case, can you make one that doesn't have the weather since it shows up blank anyways? sorry if its too much to ask!

The weather does the problem most people have is they don't enter location right in settings. I'm on darches froyo nightly from saturday and it works great.
I've had several requests for a just clock widget donates version. It will be only the clock widget no weather no menu icon just all clock. Tap somewhere on your homescreen and you get clock ..........clock aw man what's wrong with me
