Custom backplates - HD Mini Accessories

Anyone know of a site that sells custom backplates? It would be great to have a clear backplate to show off the yellow interior of the HD Mini

I have some strange feelings .. when i put the phone on the table or bed.. and press the screen with my finger , i have to use more pressure to press some buttons.. but when i touch the back cover with the other hand.. it's more easier .. When you open your backplane you can see some golden contacts that provide electrical signal between backplane and the phone..
And for this reason i think that we have to order original backplane in the future..
Sorry for my english..

I have found this too. Perhaps the back (which according to the manual contains part of the aerial) also forms part of the capacitor for the capacitive touch screen?

does anyone know a place were i could get a clear back case then? plz
thanks

Stylus magnet gone

The magnet holding the stylus seems to have either come off its usual spot or is turned in another direction. But the stylus wasn't holding anymore. Today, I got to work and noticed I had lost the stylus. Is there any known fix for this? I never dropped the phone, it just wouldn't work one day.
Thanks for any help.
Did you open the Stylus? You can srew it (upper black part) up, where you can see the magnet that is hold by a plastic part: it cant move .... did someone fool you?

Boris
Well, my stylus is lost now so it's too late. No, nobody was trying to trick me. Are you saying that the only magnet is in the tip of the stylus? The end that you write with? Because I believe I have another one.
with mine you cant write like a pencil only on the touch screen without ink ;-), its a touch pro without branding original from HTC. the magnet in it is placed in the inner stylus ca. 3 cm upwards from the "tip" ..., you can say just in the middle ..
Greetz
Boris
Well, mystylus was going into it's sleeve and not staying in, it was just sliding out. So, I don't know where the magnet was at all.
For me it seems that the contra part in the inner of your device (ferrum or magnetic) has moved or is broken so the magnetic stylus "found nothing to be magnetic with" hope you understand me, my english is worst .... You know that you need a little Power to remove the stylus from his hole. if you could test it with the other stylus that you still own (but must be for the TP!!), wether the stylus is hold or not.... and have a look in the inner of the stylus wether the magnet is there...
good night.... perhaps till tomorrow.... If you need a plan from the inner parts of the TP: i have one
Greetz
Boris
P.S. If you shake your device: Do you hear anything ??
Well, I tried but my replacement stylus didn't work. There is definitely a magnet missing inside the phone. At first it was tight, then it seemed blocked and now it just glides in and out.
So, can anyone give me any hints about what I can do to fix my stylus not sticking in its sleeve? I really need this fixed. Is it safe to open up a Fuze?
This happened to me today...
i have removed the battery, chip, microsd and then the back cover... a bit tricky but it was easy (folowing the dis/assembly guide), for mine the lower part didnt want to go out, so i pull out the speaker connector and then push it out.
and the other magnet was there... and it have a place in the back cover that i think it may be seen if you take the battery out... it have like a dent
now my problem is with the polarity... i dont know how to glue it ... it have 2 positions vertical or horizontal
the vertical position will attract the stylus but it seems not to enter completely
the horizontal will push it, but i dont know if it will hold it as is very hard to test it without adding glue and i will use exposy...
EDIT1: found where it go... its in the vertical position but it need to be tested (because the polarity is different dont know why) if you are going to glue it
EDIT2: i used a plastic card (old medic card, visa, ect) to pry out the back cover from the keyboard
Thanks
Many,many thanks to you.
Same situation so easy but the lose magnet not easy to find except by your tips. Ha, ha I love this forum, So many thanks to the people here who contribute helping each other

any info on replacing touch screen ?

Any info or links would be great
Got the phone off ebay and looked like it had been kicked about.
I plan to replace the touchscreen , lets hope iam not out of my depth ^_^
cheers

Just go to a Samsung Service Center and get it replaced.
It's the best option.
I have seen other Android Phones which had their screens replace the unofficial way and a partial part of their screen was no longer functional....
as a comparison, you can check it out at http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Fit-S5670-Digitizer-Touch-Screen-p/smsng6102880.htm
ok so i done it worked ok
would not recomend this for anyone and if you do its your fault
tools i used few screwdrivers tweezers scalpel cleaning cloth screen cleaner
small tray to work on , lil bag for screws
1. switched off phone , removed back cover , memory card , sim and battery
2. carefully removed the 6 screws and put in bag, the removed the backplate was a pain but managed without breaking it.
3 next there was a connection at top and on left hand side to disconnect , all so the headphone connector comes off , then you can take the motherboard off.
4. now it got tricky !very small part with a 9 on it pull the black tab up and leave it lose . i heated the front up a bit for next bit then gently got the digitizer lose it has some clips at bottum so start at the top .
5. cleaned a finger print off the lcd and replaced with new one , rebuild and was surprize it worked tbh
enjoy the pictures
hep
ohhh did u replace the screen by yourself!!!
yes was a pain
but good for you that it worked...

[Q] Button problem (read to get an idea)

So there is this thin plastic-ish strip on top of the button ic but under the physical button, just open your back cover and you'll have an idea of what i am talking about, it has this black center and is goldenish color the rest.
So, I was opening the cover and that 'thing' from the power button and volume + button fell off, I didnt pay much attention, but now those 2 buttons wont work on there own, still I can get them to work by opening the cover and using something pointed, so as far as the IC or the chip or whatever it is, is still fine.
I need some suggestions on some makeshift ideas on how to fix it so the buttons will work with the cover on. Also if possible, anybody know if the mobile guys fix it and how much it costs? Dont worry about where you live, I just want to have a rough idea I dont like walking in to a mobile mall and feeling all dumb
Thanks in advance, and the other thanks you'll all receive anyway for helping

Well, you can easily fix it yourself if you are a bit smart. Just try to stick a box shaped paper tape at that place where the plastic broke off from.
Cut tape in a small rectangle. Then cut that rectangle into many small pieces of same size and form a small rectangle. Then stick them to the place where "that thing" came off.
You can also use a double end sticky tape but usually the thickness is defined so I am not sure if that will help.
HTC Sensation is an old phone however, you should easily find old bodies/ new cases to replace your current body.
Good Luck
Thanks my explorer had a similar problem Its original back cover's buttons worn off, so I folded up a piece of paper and stuck it there and used a cover over the worn out back case. With sensation there is no way to make the paper stay in the same place, i didnt think of paper tape or double sided tape, will give it a shot.

need advice how to patch up my physically damaged M7

Alright, I did send sms on my bicycle which resulted in I did drop the phone on the ground. Luckily I had ad NILLKIN glass screen protector, which did save most of the phone . I have ordered a new Nillkin screen protector from Aliexpress. And I hope to patch up this phone so it looks good again. How would you have done ?
As you can see at the bottom in the pictures there is physically damage, you can you see the screen bleeding thru also the huwawei logo is damaged.
My idea is UNDER the NEW Nillkin screen protector I will try to mask these "holes" so the screen is not beelding thru anymore. What material should I use to patch up these holes.. also.. how to repar the logo ? can I print it out on my computer printer ? it might look **** on paper but UNDER the glass protector it might look a lot better.
All creative ideas are appreciated, I have high hopes the phone will look good again..
And hopefully my phone will surrive until the M8 release.
Just to let you know desipite the glass look damaged like this the phone is still fully functional!!
ouch i can feel with you.
How about some black film, black paper or everything else that is black and thin
Yes some black material for sure.. Black film would be perfect in guess.. Just wonder where to get it also some black glue at the sides also..

Nice man might be a very good alternative! But how easy is it to change it really?
Do I need a heat gun for that?
Don't know. I don't advise to do it yourself , just go with the phone to any service, I'm sure they know how to do the operation. Or maybe you have an huawei service near you.
Or...if you have the courage go for it ) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDiaQOzCvfE & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUl8dCuhBGw

I have done some smartphone repair myself, I changed the USB board on my old Galaxy Note 1.
I bought a smartphone repair kit with a few tools and very small screwdrivers. To change the glass is probably not much harder, but I need to know if I need a heat gun since I do not own any yet Hopefully it is not needed..but I would assume so...
I might also add the reason I bought a screen protector was that the original glass underneeth have a small crack too that goes accross the entire screen but it s quite invisible besides from certain angels.. so to change that screen to would actually be amazing..and it would make the secondary value when I sell this when M8 is released be a lot higher..
I think you need one. Look at the second yt movie at 22:34. Have an hair dryer?

If I was me I would go with the phone to a service. Anyway good to know Nilkin tempered glass do the job, I have one also on my screen

Yes the Nillkin glass did its job but I think I was unlucky, that the bottom of the phone got under my bicycle tire.. it felt like it...
I recommend Nillkin, IT has very good Oleophobic coating, which makes the whole device a lot more enjoyable to use, but be careful whren you put it on non 100% straight surfaces it will slip onto the floor.
Alright it is more or less decided I will buy a new front cover with glass, I will make sure to get original parts with gorilla glass. Since the ebay link you linked to are chipped from china I guess I can just order straight from alixpress instead...
I have heard singapore post have quite fast shipping compared to china post.
just one question is hard to see in the videos.. but do I really need to disassembly every component all the circuits boards just to change the front screen ? do I need to open the case at all when using the heat gun/hair dryer ?
If as in the every component and circuit board has to be disassembled it is over my competence probably... unless I am super careful..
Mutch better if you want to purchase an original front to replace it. Don,t know if you really need to take all the components of for replacing the front screen, but you can make some research on it or you can ask on other forums, maybe are others with more experience.
yes I understand..must decide tomorrow then.. because of shipping times a fast decision need to be made otherwise I will have to wait too long..

Man I was repairing the whole Mate7 from the scratch!
If u shattered the screen ;
1.You will need new one which cost £40-£60 2.You will have to strip the WHOLE phone which is pain!
3.You will have to open the back cover, which is very hard process. You will need hard force to pop back cover from hinges.(first you need to remove small bottom cover which is plastic.)You will have to pry it underneath is adhesive which holds that small cover firmly.
4.Once you manage to remove back cover you have to disconnect all flex cables. There are 3 black screws and 4 chrome screws(smae like two at bottom) which holds motherboard.
There is small black cover which covers all connectors and it is tricky to remove it,because left side is kind of locked under chrome metalic cover plate! You need to pry it slightly to the right to flip it upwards.Be careful! One black screw holds that small black plate!
Once you remove the motherboard, another and very very hard part awaits you!
5.Removing the battery!
You will need heat gun to remove battery but even that heat gun might ot help you to remove BIG battery without damage !!
I tried to remove battery without damage but no luck.So I will advise you to buy new battery for mate7 mine cost me just £8 from china but I had to wait almost a month to deliver! Disaster shipping from china!
So if you apply lot of heat you might be lucky remove battery without damage.
But I was scared to apply too much heat on battery it could result in explosion or fire!!!
So I rather purchased one.
Once you remove battery, you can remove bottom part of phone which is usb board with speaker and plastics. It is up to you you dont need to remove it.
6.Removing the damaged screen from (middle) supporting frame!
This can be easy depends how screen is damaged. BUT
Here you have 2 options to replace screen.
A:You can buy screen without supporting frame which is harder and more work and heat gunning around the screen and prying screen from middle frame.Needs like 30-40 seconds of heating around the screen not in the middle.
B:You can buy s reen with middle frame which is very easy.Screen is already fited in frame so you dont need to mess with very slim adhesive srtips around the screen(which I done)
Then you will have to remove all parts from middle frame. Ear speaker ,loud speaker usb board and replace it to new housing.
Once you will set the new screen you can put all parts back together..
Replacing screen for this phone is PAIN!
It really needs skills and be careful because it is very easy to scratch back cover.

I HOPE YOU WILL READ MY POST AND GIVE ME AN UPDATE BEFORE I PUSH THE BUY BUTTON THANKS!
This is the part I was going to order it is just the glass no lcd screen.

And I will give you one last advice ; that my detailed post above I explained you how difficult it is .. YOU want to change glass only ??
And what you think, you can just do it without stripping phone apart ?? Are you magician ? You would have to open phone anyway !
And replacing glass on your screen, do you have any idea how you gonna do it? Removing glass from LCD is x10 TIMES hard that my instructions above man !
So you basically adding even more, harder work to hard work ..!
Do you even have
1.LCD separator heat machine ??
2.Cutting line wire ??
3.Cleaning alcohol chemicals ??
4.Optical clear adhesive glue ??
5.Ultraviolet curing lamp ??
Come oon man ...
I told you I wish you very best of luck..

DIY : Fixing a broken X2 touchscreen/screen yeah !! (also works for X1 !)

OK, not entirely true, you still need a new screen, but this should be a step by step idiot proof how to !!
1) Cry and mourn a little bit over your broken precious, and curse that damn moment where you were reckless !
2) Get a new screen+touchscreen assembly (found one for 46$ free shipping on aliexpress). :good:
3) Wait for delivery (mine took around 3 weeks, from china to france).
To open your phone, you'll need : 1 hex screwdriver (H1.0) for one screw
1 of the phillips kind, (size PH*00)
2 finger nails, or any appropriate tool to pry open a phone if none available :silly:
That's it !
4) Look carefully on your new screen where the ribbon is located. This will prevent possible damage when taking apart your phone.
5) Things will get serious now !
6) Remove the 2 plastic covers from top and bottom, by leveraging from the sides. They should pop out quite easily.
7) Remove ALL the 7 screws, including the dirty one hidding beneath the white warranty tape (that bastard made me loose my time, my tamper, and almost my phone !). (By the way... I forgot to say... your warranty is now void... and I'm NOT responsible for whatever might happen, but you already knew that right ?)
8) pry open the phone, starting from the left side, bottom, this is where it gave up first for me.
9) Be carefull with the damn ribbon, it's located on the bottom right ! to fully separate the screen assembly, there is a metallic plate securing the ribbon, which is attached with a 8th screw that is of a metallic color, contrary to the others, which are black.
10) Swap the screen assembly for the new one, you can already check the new screen by turning the phone on. to do so, you need to place at least the right side of the screen in the phone, for the contact pins of the side buttons to touch the springs of the motherboard.
11) If everything works, cry again, but from happiness !!:fingers-crossed:
12) Don't forget to put back the metallic plate and it's securing screw !
13) Put back everything together, and be proud and happy with your good as new phone ! :highfive:
crack across my screen, didn't notice it at first because of the tempered glass i have on it which seems only protects itself ha.
will give this a go.
gorilla glass is clearly a joke.
thanks.

:highfive:

Dear sir, you will be "Mediapad X2 man of the year" if you could make a video on youtube of "how to dissassemble a Mediapad X2"
Great to change a tired battery, and so on...
Kindly yours from an old man
Thx for your excellent tutorial. Could you provide us details about the display you ordered? Which one and how is the quality? I once replaced the screen of my LG G2 and it was cheap plastic and from very bad optical quality. Does someone know, where i can get an original Huawei display? I am from Austria (its the small country in europe, not that with kangaroos )
I found a video for the x1.
May be similar with the x2

As for the product, I couldn't tell the difference between that one and the old one (when it was still working obviously )

As for the opening of the phone, it is exactly the same procedure as for the X1 as seen in many videos,
I'm not good at shooting videos, and my spoken english is so crap that you wouldn't understand anything !

@kwenteen Thank you very much, Mr. nice guy!
Just wanted to share my experience
I broke my screen in a fall (result, a 2cm black, dead vertical stripe) and went looking for a replacement. Well, there is a trap.
I found the only two videos around depicting the disassembly : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeQqJzGmjgk and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NOG1SISbKw . They are both for the x1, but the process is exactly the same for the x2. It seemed easy enough, so I went ahead.
The problem comes just after : in both videos, you basically open the phone in two, change the screen side including its plastic frame, and that's it. And on the replacement screen I got... There was no frame.
Scratching a bit further, you can find 2 types of screen on aliexpress or or eBay :
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/100-..._1&btsid=39217636-d23b-40e9-80a5-2d40f85d4b5d
Or
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-...2439027932.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.58.J1RiVO
(relevant pictures at the bottom of that page)
The first one comes without the plastic frame, the back is just a mirror with a little black surface on top and bottom, no plastic at all. The second comes with the plastic frame attached, complete with power and volume buttons, and fixations to the other half of the phone.
I found no documentation at all on the Internet on how to remove the screen from the frame, but it's at once very simple and a bit hard : the frame is glued to the screen by a two sides adhesive, it came off using a combination of fingernails, cardboard, patience and terror of breaking it. Insert fingernails between the glass and the gleaming plastic you see around the screen when you look a the front of your phone, and pull. Fear ensues. Begin in the middle of the sides, insert cardboard, and move along the side.
You then have to glue the new screen back on the frame. It's pretty easy on the large surfaces on the top and bottom, but quite tricky on the sides, which are less than 1 mm wide. Non-permanent adhesive is recommended, and some screens come with tools and 2 sided pre-cut adhesive. And also be _very_ careful when inserting the metallic speaker plate on top, I broke the glass surface of the screen when doing so. Yippee. Luckily it still worked.
The new screen was fully functional, except for two problems : double tap to wake doesn't work anymore (it worked flawlessly on the old screen), and the screen strangely lacks sensitivity when the phone wakes from a deep sleep. A reboot fixes the second problem. Very annoying, I wonder if the two issues are linked.
To sort all this out I ordered a second screen with frame, I'll live with this one until it arrives.
That's where I am currently, I hope it might help someone out there, as I have not seen those informations around on the Internet.
Good luck to you all!

Well that's good to know, new possibilities can't hurt, specially when it's cheaper !
But it can be quite confusing !
I even noticed that they now sell digitizers only, for 13 €, which is even cheaper !
I might give it a try to fix my old panel, and make a tuto out of it, if by any chance I was to succeed ! (which will not happen !)
