I was trying to root my mytouch3g and then i had a problem with the htc magic boot screen (froze and never fully booted), so i decided i didnt want to root my phone anymore. So i proceeded with unrooting , got back to 1.5 (i think) but i can't do anything because my touchscreen isn't working? did i mess up my touchscreen , is there any way to fix this problem? thanks is advance.

Hey Junior. Do you have the MyTouch with the 3.5mm headphone jack?
If so then that's your problem.
You can only have stock rom.

Figured as much.
You CAN NOT use any rom at this time except for the stock rom for the Fender/LE MyTouch devices (that is with the 3.5mm jack) because of the touchscreen and headset driver issues. HTC has not released the source for these new drivers thus we're stuck with stock.
Do you have Amon_Ra recovery?
Flash the stock rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623141
or you can be my test rat and try my freshly baked de-odexed rom.
http://nabzilla.googlecode.com/files/MT3G32AFender-1.0-fixed-DEODEXED-signed.zip
I dont think i have "Amon_Ra Recovery" and is that first link the stock rom i should flash? Would i need to root my 3g to get that rom to work? or can i just put it on the root of my microsd and boot vol down and power and update?

My palm just met my face.
You must have root to flash anything.
Follow the instructions p-e-r t-h-e l-e-t-t-e-r and you should be fine.
After you have the recovery then flash the stock rom.
You will have root but so far the stock rom and an incomplete 2.1 eclair port is all you can flash.
(2.1 eclair port is unsupported)

Im betting you didnt refkash Stock SPL or radio either did you? U have no idea what recovery you have which means you didnt flash one... which how did you flash a rom to begin with??
You just made my head hurt so much Im pretty sure most of this is mispelled

Man I've been wiping noses all day. I'm just as sick as you are.
I dunno if anyone said it as simply as this yet :
You cannot un-root a MyTouch 3G Limited Edition or 1.2 (ie: any with the headphone jack on top) because there is no original SPL to be downloaded, t-mobile/htc hasn't released it.
Its almost like we're gona have a ****load of bricked LE/1.2 for lack of reading comprehension.

I just now found out that there is an XDA developer app on Market. This would explain why all the noobs aren't reading or even searching. They see "MyTouch" and they instantly think that it applies to them.
The developer of the app needs to figure a way to set the program to locate device specific topics on the site because a noob coming right out of a T-Mobile store with a fresh device is going to download the app and end up bricking it before he can even use it.

Sorry if I'm totally off base here but I do believe reading on XDA somewhere that with the HTC One series phones when you unlock the bootloader it locks the phone from being able to flash recoverys.
This is the reason why I have waited to do the bootloader unlock I didnt want to screw myself from ever being able to flash custom roms.
you have to use this unlock method for the bootloader so why would it screw anything else up? It opens up all possibilities, not close them.

Nope. I have flashed CWM recovery at least 4 times on an international One X AFTER unlocking the bootloader. I wish that were it....
I think you may be thinking of firmware, which is a real mess, because unlocking your bootloader can set your CID to "none", and thus, you can't flash different firmware (i.e., an EU firmware on an Asian phone)...not that that would matter for these carrier-branded phones...
Good job and great progress. Unfortunately, none of us AT&T users can join in on the fun.

If that was completely true, then the Tegra 3 model's would not have cwm recovery... yet they do.
We just havent figured out a working method for ours.

i think what Killathehnoob is trying to say is that its only the ROGERS version of the ONE X that when unlocking the BLer HTC has somehow lock the other partitions so that custom recoveries and kernels are not able to be flashed to the phone...which essentially could be the case because all they said they will "unlock" the BLer...BUT they never said they would NOT do anything else in the process. maybe its a possibillity that has been over looked...just THINK TANKING is all

I understand what you mean
I wonder if the fact that its new proprietary qualcomm chip is the reason why its being 'limited'... so we may have to rethink the whole initialization process.
we cant even get to the point that the logcat is able to start logging. So we're flying blind.
We've extended the time between loading to the soft reboot after the flash... but that doesnt tell us much.

Interesting. I think the lack is fastboot boot is what they are referring to. This would prevent custom kernel development on an s-off device, but should still allow flashing of insecure stock boot images, as with the int. HOX, althoug i read it again, anf maybe they are talking about more than that. I am not sure that the article is saying that there is something different with the Rogers version vs other versions, but it seems like there may be, and obviously with the Att version. I think I will spend a day just reading, trying to pick other devs' brains, and start fresh...thanks for the input.

Hey everyone,
I am looking to start an unbricking project, to help people that are bricked with QHSUSB_DLOAD message, seeing if the Sensation method will work, just with a One S HBOOT file instead of the Sensation HBOOT one.
So I'd like to ask if anyone knows where I can find the HBOOT.nb0 files starting from 1.06 to 1.13? If you have them, could you please upload any that you may have.
Thanks,

Ok, I will be PM'ing people if they wish to try the method and report back to me.
I'm like HTC - I send OTA's out in batches, if something goes wrong, pull the update
Sending out a second batch of PMs
Project discontinued due to lack of interest.
Unfortunately no one replied or even sent a PM back saying they couldn't do it. If anyone wants to try it, fire me a PM and I might be able to do something.
Edit: Why the 1 star rating? This forum amazes me sometimes. I sent many PMs and no one was interested. That's not my fault.

Hey everyone,
I'm kind of a noob when it comes to development for the HOX and HTC in general; I previously had a Galaxy S II and it was incredibly easy to root and flash custom roms. I just had a couple of questions regarding rooting for the HOX:
1. I'm currently on 1.85, and I know that means I can still root. However, the 2.20 update hasn't even popped up on my phone. Also, whenever I check for updates, it just returns to the previous screen, like there's no update available. Does this mean I can still root using the 1.85 one click exploit?
2. How "safe" is rooting/unlocking the bootloader on the HOX? I know unlocking the bootloader is not officially supported on the AT&T version, and that you have to get SuperCID in order to unlock it. With all this modification, is it pretty safe to root and unlock the HOX? I really don't have the money to spend on another phone if I somehow brick it lol.
Thanks!

Good to know, thanks! I thought it might still work but wasn't sure. I see... What would be an example of a soft brick? I've read that if a problem occurs, you can run an RUU to restore it to factory default. Also, I don't have much experience with ADB either lol. I've read Gunnyman's primer though.

If you're S-OFF (if not you can gain it by using Sunshine you can do an RUU, that will take you back to about as stock as you can get e.g stock firmware, stock ROM, stock recovery stock etc.
This thread will tell you most of the things you'd need to do.
I highly advise against attempting to go S-ON or re-locking your bootloader as S-ON has a high probability of failure and or bricking your device.
My personal recommendation would be to just take the RUU and if if I remember correctly you can make your ***UNLOCKED*** tag falsely show ***LOCKED*** instead, not sure though so if that interests you just Google it or ask.
EDIT: Here is the link to the tutorial on setting your UNLOCKED tag to LOCKED. Warning though I have not tested this or heard of anyone testing it so DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

As far as I know they do not care if your phone is S-OFF or unlocked, only that it is running the stock firmware, ROM & recovery. Reason behind this is some of their phones are manufactured and shipped already S-OFF on 'accident', so as long as you do the RUU you should be perfectly fine, at least that is what everyone has said thus far.

I'm quite sure that will work as many other people have claimed it worked for them but as with anything I could be wrong which is why I did not include a "*100% GUARANTEED!*" sign. Just offering support, always do your own research too, just as I had done to find that out.
