How to Backup Whole Rom? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I want to backup whole rom so that I can return back after trying some other roms. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks in advance

Can I use "itsutils" to backup the rom? If so, can I restore it? how?

backup SW
and what about SPB Clone ?
and then install ROM and run this ROM Backup and everything is ok,ready,,,,,

thats the one :-0

spb backup works fine to backup a whole rom, although, after restore you will have to delete the device from active sync and then re-pair the device with your computer, sometimes this can cause un resolved items but for me that has been the only problem with using this method.

REQ: Backup software

Can anybody recommend a reliable backup software for my D2?
I want it to backup everything, in case my mobile gets lost, so that I can have it look exactly like it did before.
Thank you

Sprite backup works when recovering to the same ROM.
The same Rom? So it can be a different phone as long as it is a Diamond2 as well, is that what you mean?

All of apps presented in this article will work correctly: http://www.mytodayscreen.com/the-backup-shootout-who-will-triumph/
I'm using SPB Backup.
Sprite backup also has an "upgrade" feature in restore, by which you can also restore your settings in a different ROM. Sounds intriguing, but I do not have a firsthand experience... Other than that, it works fine for me.

Yes, as long as it's the same ROM, there are many versions of ROM for the Diamond 2 see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=486.
I wouldn't recommend using Sprite (though is has the ability) to recover to a different ROM or different version of the same ROM.

Odin is only for flashing new firmware, I don't think you can backup your rom by using Odin.
samfirmware/sammobile do not have asia rom. So cannot restore back. If the rom available, no need to backup already. I notice S+ only don't have asia rom.
Stupid phone.

Anyone manage to restore back this rom? What stock version for this rom?
Heya u guys, just found this thread... Im int he same situation right now, just rooted my sgs+ 10 minutes ago now, i would like to remove the stock apps, any advices ?
why need to remove. just use titanum to freeze the app better.
I uninstalled most of the stock apps yesterday...
The following apps however dont appear in "Root Uninstaller":
Places
Navigation
Latitude
Also, i am asking myself how important "Talk" and "Talkback" are for the system... are they relevant for any functionalities ?
*EDIT*
talk and talkback seem to be important for google services so better leave them alone

There is still no answer to this question, and I am + one who would like to know how to backup ROM I get with phone from my provider. Reason is simple, because of warranty, and second reason for me is SWYPE on my language.
Any suggestions ?
EDIT: To answer my self and other wondering. If you want to backup original ROM you get with Galaxy + you need to install CWM recovery following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331164
After that boot to recovery and choose backup and here you go, after couple of minutes you have backed up original ROM.

You could try using Market Enabler, etc. to gain that ability. Titanium Backup is the only app I use for those purposes, so I'm not sure of any other (its the best IMO).

Help With Nandroid To New Device

So I cracked my N5 and got a new one today. Did a Nadroid via CWM on the old phone and was looking to transfer to the new and then restore. I see that it's located in /mnt/etc/etc/ but I can't tell if I'm transferring it correctly or not.
I'm doing adb push (file) to /mnt/etc/ but since it's almost a 2gb file, I can't tell if it's working or if it's crashed out.
Is what I'm doing correct? I'm hoping once the transfer is done, I can just restore in RomManager.
Thanks guys!

First of all do not use Rom Manager as it is a buggy, unstable and crappy app. Uninstall it immediately and never use it again Flash CWM or Philz Touch CWM to make or restore a backup. Just place the nandroid you made via usb in the /clockworkmod/backup/ file and see if you can restore it in recovery.
- Edit- as @rootSU said don`t restore EFS or it will mess up you`re phone. Can you restore apps with Tit. Backup or Helium or adb?
Do NOT restore efs

I wouldn`t restore the backup cause the EFS files of your former and current phone are different. You will mess up your phone severely. Its best to restore your apps by other means.
So what's the best way to "clone" my broken device to the new one?
If you're using philz, you wont be backing up efs by default so restoring nandroid is fine. Can't talk for TWRP though

Unless you we`re able to isolate and delete your old EFS files from the backup and replace them with your current one i wouldn`t do it. Don`t know if thats possible and i wouldn`t know how to do that myself anyway. I`d just restore the apps and its data and set it up as you want to. Maybe someone else can give you better advice but thats what i can tell you.
Backed up and restored and everything appears to be going great! Thanks guys!
Is there a main thread for Philz so I can familiarize myself?

Thanks for that.
I didn't know about Philz Touch.
I am glad I can finally get the right date and time on my backups plus it adds the ROM name and version +1. :good:

In the Time settings, I set the Time Zone for my region and Time Zone offset to +0 min and used the Qualcom Time Daemon to get the current date and time.
That is what worked for me.
There is another recommended way?

U can use one switch app there u can make a backup.
And if u Stay at stock firmware u can restore also. The folder can be transferred to your pc.
OR in the Playstore search for partition restore OR something like that.
