I have a G1 that I tried to root and mod. Using the the downgrade method to RC29. I've been reading and waiting untill I felt comfortable trying to mod it. When the one click method came out I ordered my 8gb class 6 sd card. By the time it came, the hole was patched. So got rc29 and Cy recovery1.4 did the telnet and got root. When I went to recovery it was Android Recovery not Cy. Even though I had Nandroid b/u 2.2 and it said Zen's recovery build. I did this 3 times with same results. Next I went to drizzy hero full rom. It said to update radio and spl using a link on the page. The link took me to haykuro's radio and hard slp. Installed the radio first (using the update.zip) then the spl. The radio worked, the spl has me stuck on the G1 screen. I've tried everything that I can think of.
Now I slipped my sim into a my touch 2 pro. Is it me or is this what Ive been tring to get all along. This phone is SWEET!! Plus I've been seeing more upgrades and stuff for WM than Android lately. I'm no dev, obvioulsy my G1 is prob. bricked, but it sure seems like you can do almost anything with WM that you can with Android. Except change O/S. My mind is open on any opinions or ideas. (still like to fix G1) (mt2p is still on 6.1, should I upgrade?)
I rooted my G1 and went from rc-29 to Jf 1.43 Holiday[http://jf.andblogs.net/2009/02/11/jfv143/] and everything works but i want to move on to hero or 2.0 or maybe motoblur or something. any rom i try to load the same way i got to "holiday" sends my phone into a never ending loop or sits @ the g1 screen so i just go back to the jf rom and wipe and reload it....can anyone help me? im not able to find any info on how to downgrade from a jf or move to a different rom.

There is a great guide over at http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com, but for the upgrade from jf is easy just follow the instruction's over here at http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/How_to_upgrade_from_JesusFreke_1.5. Hope this helps.
sweet that worked!! running cyangn 4.1.9999 or sumthing now and its great!! the cyanogen wiki was perfect!
so i have a mytouch 3g with the perfected SPL (i believe ... says HBOOT-1.33.0006 when I check the version with back+power) and I've been using AmonRa's 1.6.2 rom for quite some time now.
I have been looking to upgrade to the Eclair roms floating around the forums which states that it requires a newer SPL so I downloaded the Engineering SPL 1.33.2010 along with the new rom
My question is (after some research) can i just boot into recovery mode and flash the new SPL that way? or is the only way the goldcard way?
You can just flash from the recovery images, but make sure the spl is completed and then he upgrade let me know how it goes
thanks, i'll give it a go and hope it doesn't brick
OK so i got the ENG SPL to install with no problems, but I can't get the rom to install
i'm trying to use Eugene's v2.3 rom found here http://alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=130&t=515
it flashes, says install complete, but upon reboot, it loads the mytouch splash page, then about a minute or 2 later, it loads this strange screen with colors that form an X in the middle of the screen and keeps doing that ... i've never seen that before so I flashed back to the 1.6.2 ion rom i used prior
anyone have any ideas?
thats the boot screen...the first time i got it I had to wait 45min for it to finish loading the rom....restarts (after first boot) are quicker....just be patient...I suggest flashing + rebooting then going to sleep...wake up in the morn...if its still going then u have a prob.
This is the screen ur getting right?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAFSEsEZnnE&feature=player_embedded
yeah, tahts the screen...scared the crap out of me...doesn't make any sense to use an "X" as the boot screen as "X"s are a negative symbol ... i did wait it out, however, took about 5 minutes, but it worked!
I am now running on the 1.33.2010 ENG SPL with eugene's 2.1 rom and it is quite flawless (minus the fact that there's no camera). Hope the camera fix comes out soon!
Hi,
I have an HTC Magic 32A and lately i've decided to flash it with cyanogenmod v4.2.15.1 everything went well except for when the OS boots, applications start to crash, phone reboots so I tried to re-flash but same exact problems happen...
Is there a ROM available that is stable and up to date??
Also, Could you please point me to some guides?
Thanks,
N4rc071x.
I find CM crazy stable... strange how you encounter those problems.
same here..no issues on my CM. try running fix permission.
I re-flashed with Magic GyD and everything is working fine now... phew!
Is it possible to flash a recovery/engineerings SPL ROM with HBOOT-1.33.0009?
Are there any tutorials I can follow?
Are you using the fender (headphone jack) or just the normal one? If you're using the normal one, find the cursorsense 1.2.6.1 rom and he gives you details on how to flash an enginerring spl. PLEASE Don't flash the Hero SPL/Radio. You wanna use the 1.33.0010 and the radio that goes with it. (NOT THE 6.35)
Are there any problems with radio 6.35?
So basically when flashing, you need to take care of matching the SPL/Radio versions right?
Are there any android 2.x (possibly with flash support) that don't require 6.35??
Since you're looking for a stable rom, I would suggest not going to 2.x It's ok to use but there may be lots of problems. I tried it and went back to 1.6 right away. Some people like it though so it doesn't hurt to try.
And there are no problems with the radio 6.35 and yes you have to match spl/radio. You may not brick if you don't match (it'd cause problems though) but I wouldn't wanna give it a try lol
Thanks a lot for your help mate
Hi,
I have my Sensation 2.3.3 S-Off, Super-CID, all that stuff, although it is on stock firmware.
Just wondering, does anyone know from experience or otherwise, will the new 2.3.4 update cause any problems? Bricking caused by update or anything?
I'd rather not S-On manually as I'd have to reflash firmware and I don't want to lose all my personal data, apps, etc.
I don't really care if it goes S-on, as long as it still works!!
Thanks!
P.s. I debranded from Vodafone to Stock Europe, can the CID be rewritten?

Seriously,
U'v come this far and have not flash'd some InsertCoin 2.2.2 Sense
into your Sensation yet? (2.3.4 with OC safely op to 1.5 GHz)
Check this tread and discover what you'v been missing out on.
Get titanium to backup your apps, spend some quality time with your phone and you'll never regret it!
It was the first thing i did after S-off and rooting.
Flashing the radio could be a little "exciting" but whent without a hitch for me. (and most of us)
You'll never go back.... promise!
Jesus, just realized i sound like an infomercial,....

I have to agree, InsertCoin 2.2.2 Sense rom just rocks. If you want to go to Android 2.3.4, just flash this or one of the other custom roms out there that have been updated already using the EU stock rom.
Flashing InsertCoin now! Seems to be going well.
So much easier than expected!
Thanks for the sales pitch, worked a treat!
On the white HTC boot screen for nearly 20 minutes...
Doesn't seem to be looping, just not doing anything???
ok,... that kinda sucks.....
Did u get it going already?
What guide (if any) did u follow?
At what point did this happen?
Can you adb to it?
It's all good now, wiped data with CWM and reflashed and It's working!
Love the speed... Just need to update the radio and flash the overclock kernel.
When updating the radio CWM keeps saying "wrong zip file" though. Any ideas on what could be going on there?
Also, how do you flash to 2.2.2 and the overclock kernel? Just copy to SD and use CWM?
Thanks!
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Glad to hear it worked out.
And now to top it all up with a recent radio file and some oc madness
Doing the following is on your own risk! I din't force you to do it,
think before act and don't blame me when [email protected]#g it up.
To flash the radio you should,
Download this radio file,
Make sure the filename is PG58IMG.zip exactly or it will not work.
copy it to the root of your sd card.
Download a md5 checker from te market and check the file, The md5 should match up with this one.
md5: 64a0383b87b4b780cf516f7d7e43b784
If not, redownload & try again.
this is very imporant!!
If you flash a corrupted file you will own a very expensive brick!
Now:
Turn your phone off, take out the battery.....wait a few seconds and put it back in.
power up your phone while holding down the vol- button.
The bootloader will scan for the radio update.
Once it finds the update, select Yes.
Allow the bootloader to finish flashing the updated radio, and boot
The radio file is now flashed.
Remove de PG58IMG.zip file from your SD card BEFORE rebooting your phone or it'll try to flash it again when powering up after draining your battery.
To flash the 2.2.2. ROM
put it on your sd card
recovery - wipe all (data/factory reset)
select the file in cwm en confirm.
Also, Never install a theme on an unbooted fresh install, leads to f/cs.
Kernel can be done in cwm aswell by selecting the file and flashing it.
The tool to oc it is included.
Thats it. Good luck, and let me know.
Wow!
Thanks for the noob-friendly tutorial!!
Will try it later tonight and let you know how it goes.
Just with the radio update, fastboot keeps saying "wrong zip file" or something like that... Md5 was correct but still nothing... Bit will try again
Do I definitely need to wipe everything to flash 2.2.2? I have titanium set up and everything backed up anyway, but just wondering. Losing my data for a third time will make me cry a little!
Again, thank you!!
Sorry, also, in CWM do I just "install zip from sd card" to flash the kernel and 2.2.2 ROM, yeah?
Your welcome
I know it sucks, you don't have to wipe BUT, it can (not saying it will) lead to strange issues like force closes etc.
It's up to you.
About the radio file,
Im pretty sure you have the radio file in the wrong location.
It should be placed in the root of your sd card, not the root of your divice.
So like this /sdcard/PG58IMG.zip
NOT in /PG58IMG.zip

Hey, got the radio working perfectly. Trying to copy the 2.2.2 Rom now and it just wont copy onto the SD through copy and paste or adb push. I have no idea what's wrong with it...

Are you sure there is enough free space on your SD-card?
If so, try downloading it directly on your phone.
Got everything working! Have insertcoin 2.2.1 with UnityV7 working perfectly (2.2.2 is unstable on my phone... SU, gmail and facebook all force close)
Absolutely delighted with the results! Wont be looking back
Turns out the problem was a bad SD card (which is making me cry since it's a kingston 16GB class 10)
Anyway, thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it!
Nice! Glad it worked out, and sorry for your loss
Sorry to hear 2.2.2 is not stable for you tho.
Baad (the InsertCoin ROM cook) mentioned a few days ago that work is being done on a new kernel especially written for his ROM so maybe that's worth a shot in a couple off days....
Anyways,....glad i could help, happy camping!
