The Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics for Mobile(Android) - Android Apps and Games

Skyscape recently released the 33rd edition of the Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics for mobile devices. I picked it up for my Android and I’m happy I did. I immediately became addicted to using on the wards. There are easy-to-use calculators, full-color images in addition to so much comprehensive clinical information on any topic you can think of.
The huge advantage of this mobile version is the ability to easily move from topic to topic and drill down into relevant information. Also, Skyscape’s smartlinking allows you to find related symptom info or drug dosing information really seamlessly, and there are multiple indexes and outlines, making it easy to get to the information you need without disrupting your workflow. At about $50 for a one-year subscription, it’s well worth the price. I highly recommend it for any internist or ER doctor.

Best CRM (Customer Relationship Management/Sales) Software for Pocket PC?

Hey guys. I have been looking for some good software for weeks now and have been unable to find one that I really like. So I figure that I might as well post up here since this is where I get all of my other information regarding my phone.
So this is what I am looking for:
I am looking for some type of CRM or Customer relationship management software for the Pocket PC. For those who dont know, this is essentially a piece of software that allows you to record customers, sales, phone calls made and received from customers, interest of customers, and personal information. It is primarily used to keep track of customers, leads and sales.
Ideally I would like some software that can be used on both regular windows as well as Pocket PC Windows. Meaning I can update or add customer information on either my laptop or my PPC and the 2 devices will synchronize and maintain the same information. However if that is not possible, something that just works on the PPC only is just fine. I really need it to be able to store customers, categorize them by where they came from I.E. who referred them, update contact information such as phone calls made and received as well as appointments set, and indicate when the customer has been sold or is no longer in the market or a hot prospect.
.
If anyone could recommend a CRM software for the pocket pc that is primarily sales based, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I really need to get something as the old pen and pad mentality is not quite as efficient as I would like and I figure its time to finally step into the new millennium with my sales tracking.
Thanks a lot for all of the help guys! Btw, I dont mind paying for good software, I just need it to work well. Something that is easy to use and makes it easy to update customer information especially including calls made to them and the status of their sales deal. Thx.

Anyone got any ideas on this one?

It'd be pretty rudementry, but might work. I know with the task manager, you can set a task, and then throw notes into it. You can then also set custom priority levels. Might be able to use this to your advantage. Use the priority levels to rank the lead (cold, warm, hot, wtf why isn't this closed yet, etc etc), notes for who refered them, and once you close the deal, you can check it off your list as completed.
Just my $.02.
Edit: Goes to show what happens when you leap before you look. You CAN set priorty levels to low, normal, and high, and then can set custom categories to help you sort them by. Good luck!
Thanks for the help, however I tried this initially and it doesnt work well enough for me. It works in a rudimentary manner, but I need more control and information managment than that. Thanks tho!
Anyone else got any ideas?

My company uses this piece of software; http://www.salesmanager.nl/nl/salesmanagermobile.htm
Its in Dutch and I dont know if there's an English version..
I found this (outdated) article about "Microsoft CRM Mobile"; http://www.sonomapartners.com/articles/microsoft-crm-mobile12.aspx
And this is a download link "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile"; http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...66-7EC8-4AFE-BBFA-91E7210C55C4&displaylang=en
You do need the MS Dynamics package to make it work tho..
You can also look for "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Small Business Edition"..
You can get a demo which is floating around Microsoft's website.

The Best Android Medical Apps for Doctors, Nurses and Health Care Professionals

Thanks to Chris Thorman of Software Advice for providing a list of 60 of the top Medical applications we see on Android.
Please note the software is firmly steered towards the professional market rather than the general consumer.
Having said that the material would be extremely useful for anyone you know in the medical profession.
Software Advice must be complemented on the hard work we see here in this list, determining which are the best applications as there are well over 1000 titles they had to sort through.
Read here for Chris Thorman's list
Also, here's another title by GoMLV ~ Cancer Surveillance
It is explained at post 8 below.
Thanks Beards for directing us to the website
and kudos to Software Advice
My favorites among them are
Medical calculators
Lexicomp complete which i believe includes Stedmans dictionary (atleast on the iphone it used too)
Epocrates
Skyscape
There's a Medscape app on the iphone which I believe is not available on the android , its a really good free app.

What were your thoughts on the titles outlined for Pediatrics as I know that is your field of expertise.
I was very pleased to hear of this complete list put together ~ brought to my attention from out of a lecture I was conducting recently.
Looking forward to seeing titles develop as Android makes pace in the professional world where admittedly the iPhone has that very useful arsenal of applications... and a few not-so-good such as 'AcneApp' where a colleague of mine has written quite a damning paper on the subject and said application.
Whether Windows Phone 7 (which will be geared more towards professionals rather than the mainstream) can maintain a high profile will have to be seen.
If anyone finds any further material worth reading/investigating please chip in.
Beards
Beards , i could not try the Pediatrics app because most of them are paid apps and I can't download them in my country , but looking at the contents it looks really helpful with drug facts, drug dosages and redbook.
My heart goes to you in having to cope with these restrictions.
I'm a great believer in that if a tool is available for the welfare of mankind it SHOULD be available to all, no matter what.
I suppose there is no way your local medical centre/practice or medical governing body could sort this out for you and any other medical staff?
nice...
all good medical apps are hard to find ..
Thanks op. And @ the guy above - **** you warez pricks. Get a job and pay for this stuff instead of stealing. Its one thing to want a demo for more than 15 mins - another to steal. What's worse though is that you can't even find warez on ur own. Pathetic.

[Q] Questions about an app for a company

Good afternoon everyone,
I have been thinking about an app that my company could use when staff are sent away on weekend events.
The company hires our PDQ (payment terminals) to various markets/fairs/events throughout the country. They are based in London, with most of the events being further out in the country (Telford, Oxfordshire, to name a few). Whilst at the event I would like for our customers feedback, complaints, questions, concerns, ideas, notes on our equipment, e.t.c. to be logged using a tablet, rather than pen and paper. I feel the most effective way to do this is creating our own app. It does not have to be pristine, with a professionally chosen colour scheme, perfect graphics e.t.c., but a simple app that is user friendly and just works. Ideally we would be able to upload an Excel spreadsheet to it, containing customer details, that can be displayed using some form of table/report layout whereby notes can be added. So, for example, 50 customers and their details are on the spreadsheet, it's uploaded to the app and each one can be opened individually. A signature section to confirm receipt of the equipment would also be a fantastic bonus. Once the event is over with, it would help if the report can be pushed/emailed in a usable format (again Excel would be great) so that certain parts can be extracted and used in various other reports.
So my question is... Am I completely mad for hoping the above is achievable, or extortionately costly? Or is it relatively simple considering the advancements in app making and the kinds that are available today? Could a relative novice be able to make it, or is it best reserved for a Pro?
Any help, questions, suggestions, silly remarks welcome.
Thank you

That certainly is a nice idea, but unfortunately it doesn't seem very realistic.
If anyone was to attempt to create that, it'd definitely need to be an experience app maker, as the code required to make an app like that is astronomically difficult.
Meh. :|
Scaling it back...
OK, I thought that may have been a lot of 'blue-sky' thinking. How about if the information was entered manually somehow and then notes were made on each one?
It would be great if each event could be stored on the app and looked back over for reference if need be. Say if the customers information was entered using the app creation tool, then a signature was taken and saved as an image, perhaps a picture of it can be taken and then uploaded to the app?
To the app developers... Is there something based on my proposal that could be made more easily?
Thank you

[Q] 10 reasons why your event needs an application!

Many event organizers are thinking about mobile applications. This can be called a trend thus growing number of people, especially in the business environment, use smartphones and printed brochures are losing their popularity .
As a company with a huge experience in this area we can name you at least 10 reasons why you should provide an event application for your attendees:
1. All in one device. An interactive materials format is the thing attendees always expect from you. Let them easily access an event schedule, view sessions and sponsors info.
2.Personal assistant. Maximize attendees' involvement before, during and after the event while creating their own agenda and reading about favorite speakers.
3.Extra plus for sponsors. Connect your sponsors to a very targeted audience and increase their interaction. Also, mobile app is a good way to share special offerings.
4. Map not to get lost. Insure delegates know all the venue details. Help your guests getting to the right place in time.
5. No paper trash and harm to nature. Making last minute changes in program is very tempting – with a mobile application it is easy. Care about nature - the app is more environmentally friendly.
6. Not dependent on the Internet. Do not want to be tied to the Internet? Native mobile app works efficiently in any case and no need to worry about the connection speed.
7. Simplified version of the website. Thinking about a small copy of your home page? Mobile app can contain all the information from the website and much more.
8. Prestige and modern. Information will be stored directly on your attendees' mobile devices allowing them to navigate, interact and engage with your affair effectively.
The event will be associated with doing something cool and progressive, while at the same time providing a useful service to participants.
9. Marketing tool. Attendees can download personalized application well in advance and share it with their colleagues and friends. Recommendations are the best advertisement for your affair.
10. Great for multiple events. For multiple and/or annual events this tool is a must-have.
Showcase your company logos, images and more to intended audience. Provide delegates with the info about next event in time.
With a growing number of people going mobile printed event guides becoming less desirable — creating a mobile app for the conference, event, forum or meeting is a necessity. Delegates expect nothing less. Giving them an engaging, easy-to-use tool will create a better experience and place your event well above the competition.

talkGov - an Anonymous Political Discussion Platform

talkGov Main Site
Google Play Store
Amazon App Store
*This app is targeted mainly for those in the US*
Given the current state of political affairs, it seems we are in a time where technology should be better used to help keep more people aware.
In comes **talkGov**, a politics based social platform. The main gist is to develop a way for people to stay up-to-date with active legislation. It seems people are only aware once legislation is passed, so bringing this data to the forefront seemed like an issue we need to tackle.
Currently, you can track **Executive Orders**, Bills in the **House**, and Bills in the **Senate**. For each of these, an anonymous chat room is created to discuss the issue at hand, you can cast your own vote, view the votes of others, as well as view more details on the legislation. We have also included an anonymous 'forum' feed, where you can create topics of discussions allowing for more in-depth conversations.
We have longer terms goals that include automating sending feedback to your given representative, as well as setting up to allow you to track legislation on a more local level (state, city, etc).
We have also set up a topic specifically for tonights **State of the Union** address!
Feedback would be greatly appreciated! I'm here to answer any questions as they pop up.
