Is it possible to install a2sd on polaris.
apps2sd is not necessary. when you flash android (to sd or nand) you can decide to put all data on an sd partition.

Format 1 Partition FAT32 in sdcard root path have /andboot
I explained how to install the following.
1. FLASH THE ANDROID OS LOADER TO NAND.
2. Copy this androidinstall.tar under a folder named andboot at the top level of your SD Card.
3. When you're done flashing, your device will boot.
4. to start the Android Installer.
5. I selected System on NAND, Data on SDCard.
prompt displayed "unmounted invalid data argrument"
you must create a ext3 data partition on your sd card so ad this to your how-to
0. create 2 partition on sd:
1 -> Fat32
2-> ext3
and then continue with your list...

Are you sure of that ?
this method doesn't work for me with last dzo kernel and incubus RLS5
doest ext3 has to be logical or primary ?
Yes, i'm sure, format your sd card with 2 primary partition. The former will contain the installation files (Fat32) the latter will br you data partition (ext3)

I am using Ubuntu to partition my 8GB microSD card. Does it matter which partition is primary, logical, or extended? What should they be?
Hi,
I've done this and both fat32 and ext2 partitions should be primary.
I 1st had the fat32 partition and then added the ext2 partition.
My ext2 partition is 1.4 gb and the fat32 32 is 6.4 gb.
Hope that helps.

I have Ubuntu Linux installed on my MacBook Pro (dual boot). You can download the Live CD for Ubuntu, but Im not sure if you can install applications. I had to install Gparted, a partition manager for linux. Once you install that, run it and pick your SD card. I had my G1 hooked via cable to my laptop. Create the first partition as FAT32 - Primary - whatever size you want, keep between 500MB - 1.5GB free for your EXT2 partition (2nd partition). Click "Apply". Next create the second partition using the leftover space - EXT2 - Primary. Click "Apply". You are done.
Ex. I have a 8GB microSD card
Partition 1 - FAT32 - Primary - 6.5 GB
Partition 2 - EXT2 - Primary - 1.5 GB
HI,
I use windows xp with a program called Paragon Partition Manager.

You need three primary partitions in this order: FAT32, ext2/3, swap. The FAT32 partition needs to be marked bootable. ext4 isn't ready for prime-time yet.

In Mini Partition Tool it's called Active & IIRC it's under modify when you right click on a partition.
Thank u very much
Hi all, I have just changed my sd card on my Sensation Xe. But the new Sd card is already partitioned and i want to delete this partition. I have read that to delete partition I have to format it from the recovery but I don't know how can I do it.
Recovery: 4EXT Recovery Touch.
CHANGE TOPIC: I have solved the problem of this topic. Now i want to ask you another thing. If i go to partition sd card from recovery i have to select the space i want on my 1 partition (fat32) but, even if i have 16 gb on sdcard, my first partition can be only until 8 gb. Why? Then it ask me the space i want for the second and the third partition. What is the 3 partition?
Thanks.
Well this is what it says in the classic 4 EXT Recovery thread OP.
Full support for up to 2 sd-ext partitions + swap

So it should be another 2 sd-ext partition or a partition for Swap.
Personally I would just format it with my computer and a SD card adapter. I always do a low level format first them a Fat 32 format, but that is just me.
But why I can use more than 8 gb for fat32 partition?
I am trying to put NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 V1.1 on my HTC HD2 via Native SD. I can't figure out what exactly to do once I get to the partitioning of my sd card. This thread [26 SEP 2012][DEV]NativeSD Rom Boot Script for HD2 said what to put the 4ext size at but not the swap or any of that. I am new to doing this and I would greatly appreciate any help. What do I do?
There are so many instructions. Please copy/paste the instructions you're following, so we can better help you
You probably don't need swap.

Sdcard for NativeSD:
Code:
1. First make sure you have at least 1 Fat32 partition and 1 EXT4 partition on your sdcard
2. If you don't have these partitions ?? backup your sdcard , because everything will be wiped from your sdcard when you create partitions and format them !
3a Use the provided 4EXT recovery (NAND or SD version) to create the partitions and format them.
3b If you rather use a computer for creating and formatting partitions keep in mind that both partitions must be primary partitions (not logical)
4. The recommended size of your EXT4 partition is depending on how many roms and apps you are going to install.. 512M is the minimal size..
5. Restore/move the sdcard contents back to the Fat32 partition
6. (WP7 users) make sure the EXT4 partition is located @ /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
To check this mount your sd-ext partition in 4EXT recovery and use adb shell or QtADB shell and type df
7. Your sdcard is now ready for NativeSD usage..
What steps have you completed, and what part is troubling you? Have you partitioned your SD card?

Once it gets to 4 where it says the minimal size is 512 mb. On the recovery on my phone, it asks me for primary ext, secondary ext, and then swap. What do I do here?
Choose primary, ext3 or ext4. You don't need swap.

Okay, so then I should put maybe 1024 mb, instead of 512, since it's a 16 gb memory card?
Go for it.

if cwm:
go to advanced, partition sdcard, set size to zero, partition....
it will automatically make it as the only partition, fat32.
if twrp,
advanced>partitionsdcard>set size to zero> partition.
again, automatically, sd-ext will be removed and your sdcard will be *unpartitioned*.

THANKS A LOT ! :good:
False
CWM doesn't have a zero MB partition size option.
u can try easeus partition manager also for interactive partitioning/nonparticipating

Either try getting it done through recovery or else use Partition software on PC like Minitool Partition Wizard, EaseUS Partition Manager etc.
erase sd card from android..simple..
