I don't think I can get into bootloader mode. Your suppose to hold the end button and press the down volume button, right?

hold the vol down button while it's booting up.

Yeah, it will not boot at all. Only sign of live is the Qualcomm driver that pops up when you plug it into the computer. Won't turn on.

if you can at least get the screen to turn on when you boot, you dont have a brick. there is software out there to force flash a device. if you cant turn it on at all, meaning you cant use the power button, you have a brick. when you flashed the raphael, the map path to the power button must have been lost. there is no recovery from that. run an industrial magnet over it for a minute, toss it in the river and tell vz you lost it...thats assuming you have insurance or just look on craigslist for a smashed screen vz tp2, take the brain out and put it in yours

It is a brick. You can NOT revive it if you flash another phone's bootloader.

Thanks for your help guys. It looks like the power button probably lost its mapping path, so it is a brick. Hence why I can't get it turned on all. I will probably try and return it as dysfunctional device since I just got it.

With the Verizon TP2 it's hold vol down and press the reset button on the side under the battery cover. Maybe there are multiple ways but that's how I get in to boot loader.

Flashing the wrong HSPL will give you a brick. Verizon may see what you have done, if you try to return it, but perhaps not. If they figure it out, they will not replace. You may want to consider claiming it as lost/stolen and pay the deductible.

Thats how the gsm tilt 2 works too... take out your stylus... press the little red reset button while holding down the volume down button... once you see the tri coloured boot screen load up you can release the volume down button and then stick that bad boy on the usb cable. When it connects it should say usb near the bottom. Flash away.
good luck!

yep for bootloader..even on the white screen, hold the volume down button AND the power button (with yer left hand) then at the same time with yer right hand hold the soft reset button with the stylus..hold them for a lil bit and itll show the multi coloured bootloader screen..youll get it no problem bud
hmm unless yer on verizon, someone with verizon might wanna chime in but i believe verizon is different for a few things..if yer not, then itll work no prob

[Q] HTC Desire doesn't boot after aborting OTA Android update

Yesterday, my brother was updating Android OTA on his HTC Desire S. During the installation, he got impatient and wanted to abort the update. Because he couldn't find a cancel button, he decided to remove the battery. This indeed aborted the update but left him with a phone without a properly installed OS.
The phone doesn't boot up anymore. In fact, it doesn't respond at all. Not even if I try a hard reset (volume down + power button).
Is there something left to try?
Oops Not the wisest course of action by your bro there.
Am I correct in assuming that you mean from a powered-off state, holding the Vol- key and pressing the power button doesn't do anything?
If you connect the phone to the mains charger, do you get the charging light appear on the phone still?
I guess the biggest question here would be - was this an unmodified phone (i.e. not been 'S-Offed', rooted etc? If so then you may find the best course of action is to return it for official repair - if he's not had it very long then take it back to the shop he bought it from, otherwise go through the Mobile Phone Network's helpline for it to be repaired. Just tell them that it was doing an OTA and failed - don't mention getting impatient though.

No, it doesn't respond to the charger or the USB cable.

Here's the catch, he got the phone second-hand from a friend abroad who had it lying around. Therefore, going back to the shop isn't really an option.
I guess he permanently bricked his phone then?
I would suspect that, if it's not even responding to a mains charger, that it is toast - but maybe somebody can correct me on this?

Look up jtag. It's your only option at this point. Unless the phone was purchased under a year ago. So yeah, paperweight for now.

Spend the extra 20 bucks. lol It might matter or it might not. You don't wanna be the one that finds out it mattered though. lol
I would trust mobile techvideos over anyone on ebay. They have a stellar rep.

Hey there, Today my phone got stuck in a bootloop where the screen was black and there was an intermittent vibration. I couldn't get out of this bootloop at all. I tried getting into recovery mode, download mode, using Odin, holding down power for more than 20 seconds, removing the battery for 10 minutes, etc. Anyway, I figured, there has to be a solution without having to take apart my phone and trying to use JTAG, Geez! ANyway, I decided to try pressing the power and volume buttons in different combinations with and without the battery, and while being connected or disconnected to the PC. OK to make a long story short, here is the combination.
Plug USB into computer ( I used win7) without connecting it to your skyrocket.
Remove the battery from your phone.
Insert the Data cable into your phone without the battery.
Install battery and quickly press both the volume up/down button and the power button repeatedly (about 5-10 times) Basically press and release both sides at the same time over and over again until your skyrocket pops out of a bootloop. It took me only 5 presses.
I'm not saying this will work for everyone, but it worked for me. Due to the fact that this happened on a whim, I can't test it out to make sure the steps are just right. Whoever tries this, take note of the steps.
I hope this helps you guys out. Cheers.

what you have sir is a stuck power button, by repeadetly pressing the power button you momentarily "unstuck" the button, it can stay unstuck like that or it can become "sticky" once again, more info on that in the 1stop sticky

uhhhh, another person who is slightly misinformed. a boot loop doesn't equal JTAG. if your phone turns on AT ALL u should be able to recover it and get it working. JTAG is required for a brick, and like its name implies, a brick is just that. A phone that does absolutely nothing but sit there. No display, no sound, no vibrate, nuthin

[Q] Totally bricked my phone :( HELP PLZZ

So I have a razr maxx hdxt926. I tried to root the phone by using the Droid Razr utility. Since then, I cannot even turn the phone ON to get into Boot load option. The phone seems completely dead. When I plug the phone to the computer, I can hear the connecting sound but I have no idea what I can do at this point. Any ideas? Am I totally screwed? Please help!!
What firmware is your phone running? Just trying to root shouldn't brick it, even if you're running one of the OTAs that patched the exploit.
Did you try holding the power button until it turns off? It sounds like it's still on if it makes the connecting sound when you plug it in. Try holding the power button down until it does a hard shutdown, then see if you can get into the bootloader manually (hold down both volume rocker buttons and then push and hold the power button also).

Hello,
Yes, I did try the "hold power" then the volume down keys with power and nothing. Not sure what firmware this is did not get a chance to check on that. I got the phone today. Not sure what to do at this point.

Return it to the store?
Have you removed the battery then put it back in? So you know the phone is off. If you do this and then plug it in, does your phone beep/start charging, do you see anything on the screen?
I had a phone die on me like that. Out of nowhere screen went black, took it to a repair shop instead of using the insurance, cost like $75 :/
Later I asked sprint and they said they don't care if you root your phone. They would have replaced it, but it would've been $150 for a smartphone.

umm you can't take the battery out of this phone.....
Also I want to point out that I've "heard" sending your phone in for repairs and they see that it's been rooted and unlocked your next bill might be a much large amount than you expect. Just like as if you send it in and they found water damage. Google it before sending it in.

Which specific utility did you use? If you used the one for the Razr, you might be out of luck if it touched your bootloader.

Bootloop even inside bootloader

Guys I really need your help, my nexus is boolooping even if i enter the booloader screen, I cant get to the recovery before it reboots, nor flash it with fastboot....
What should I go?
Thank you so much for your help,
Rob
PS another weird thing, it only does that when connected to the usb cable, when it's not, it's as good as dead...
Sounds like you may have a problem with the power button which is causing the bootloop.

I'm afraid that you are right...I guess there is no way out than to bring it to a LG point and beg for their mercy, right?
If it's not under warranty, you could have a local repair shop replace the button. If you're good at soldering, you could do the replacement yourself.
Before repairing the button, you could try this: remove the motherboard from the phone, clean around the power button using pure alcohol, quickly press and release the button several times in a row using more pressure than normal, put it back in the phone, and try to boot it. I did this on a couple of Nexus 5 phones and they continued to work for months before they were sold.
