Opera Mobile Auto Adjustment - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi,
Is it possible to deactivate the Opera Auto Adjustment when zooming in or out so you dont jump to de left border of the current content and that it doesnt change text position?
Hope you can help me

Interesting question, would like to know that too. Its sometimes hard to look at opera while zooming, cause it just jumps around while adjusting to that column you zoomed in.

++++1
That's the only thing I dislike with Opera 9.7. Using registry tweaks listed here at XDA elsewhere makes Opera smooth and fast. If it just stops self-adjusting after zoom it will be at least as good as Safari on iPhone.

+1 for me, it's very boring with some sites

yes, it is possible, but it has some issues also.
With regedit, go to the key HKLM/Software/Opera/Prefs/Adaptive Zoom/Default Zoom and put 0 instead 175. You dont need to softreset.
Hope it works for you

works for me, but no tap to zoom now...

thanks!
that was nearly exactly what i was looking for.... ^^

same for me

this "auto adjustment" is text reflow. It means that you don't have to scroll left and right to read text, after zooming in. You can't change this behaviour.

as I said before: it has some issues. But i think with this, you won't need to double tap to zoom

If you type in (opera:config) without the http and then scroll down to user profs. Then scroll down to Limit Paragraph Width and deselect the check box after that scroll down to bottom of the page and select save. A pop up box will pop up. select OK. Then soft reset. I think that should do it for you.

This is just what I needed! No more jumping around when I zoom! There are some issues, like no more double-tap to zoom, and some pages get zoomed out to full screen and become very small (like touch.facebook.com and the search homepage itself, for example), but it's a small price to pay for me

This didn't do anything for me. Can't see any difference with this tick on or off....

anyone using Opera mini?

I'm a big user of Opera mini; given the lack of buttons on the Raphael, I'm concerned it is not well-suited for one-handed use. I'm currently using a Treo 700wx and use the exposed keyboard's numeric keys to scroll (2/4/6/8) and #5 to zoom in and out. The whole navigation is extremely fast and smooth. What is the experience like on the Raphael?
Why not just use opera mobile (it's preinstalled)?
smooth zoom, using the touch wheel.
scroll with thumb on screen, or press direction arrows on touch wheel.

Opera mini works perfectly on raphael.
Some webs are very heavy and are surfed much quickly with opera mini.....
What if you're laying in bed on your side reading the phone? Can you turn off the automatic flip thing, because in that position it would always be wrong
I tend to use opera mini when i'm out and about as it uses data compression, hence reducing loading times and the amount of data downloaded. However, i have found that even with the text size set to maximum, the font is still very small and soemtimes difficult to read. It can also be difficult to select items unless you use the stylus.
does the scroll wheel to zoom work in opera mini? otherwise i think it will be impossible to surf one handed due to the lack of buttons.

Nope... the "home" and "back" buttons are not intercepted by Opera Mini so they both bring you back to the TF3D home screen.

There is a version of opera mini 4.2b that supports vga screens and large fonts. From your phone use opera mobile and go to http://mini.opera.com/beta/ Then click the link that says "If this version fails..." and download the first version with multiple certificates.

Thanks for the link.
I installed that version on my Fuze and it works very well except for the fact that I cannot zoom in or out. I can pan around the zoomed out page using the 2, 4, 6 & 8 keys (on the hardware keyboard), but pressing the 5 key only activates the mouse pointer.
Is anyone else having trouble zooming?
In Portrait mode, I use the capacitive scroll sensor (circle around the joystick) to scroll. I had to add "Java" as a running app in Advanced Config 3.3 SmartTouch settings to do this. In portrait, hitting the Back button does not scroll back (minimizes the app), so you have to use your finger to hit the back/right soft key on the screen. In Settings, make the font the largest helps to make this bigger.
Opera Mini 4.2 works better in landscape on this device. You can use the arrow keys to move around on the keyboard. You can use the Del//<-- key to go back. You can also use Function Lock (double press Fn) to lock in the numerica keys for scrolling around, though 5 does not do anything for me.
Thanks for your help.
I've never used Opera Mini before and I think maybe I just wasn't using it properly. I didn't have "overview mode" enabled in the settings, and I believe that must be enabled for zooming to function.
I also configured Java to use Smarttouch, which is allowing me to scroll a box around the screen which will zoom to that portion of the screen when I click the center button. Thanks for the tip.
I can't get the zoom feature to work at all in landscape mode though. It just stays zoomed in all the time. I can pan around the screen using the number keys, but I can't zoom out.

[Q] Scroll slider?

Hi,
I tried to search on this forum but with no success if is there any application/mod that changes the look of the standard windows mobile scroll slider? or better have them disapper?
Thanks.
i am searching for something like that too!
If you're talking about the scroll bar on the side, there is a registry key that tells how wide you want it. You can make it really thin, or wide. There is also FtouchSL that enables finger scrolling in all apps.

Thanks.
found it, thanks
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE]
cyHScr=13 - Default height of horizontal scrollbar
cxVScr=13 - Default width of vertical scrollbar
You can download Schaps Advanced config. Its a tool that allows you to easily make these changes. Just launch the app-->go to user interface-->vertical scrollbar width. Set it to 0 pixels = no scroll bar. Ditto for the horizontal scroll bar.
Now if only I knew how you guys plan on scrolling through the screen without a scrollbar...lol
i strongly suggest NOT to hide your scroll slider unless you have a backup of your system.
not all apps support touch scrolling and you might get stuck.

Why are my backgrounds like 60% white faded?

I cant figure this out no where.... Why cant i have my photo 100% color without the white over it? It works fine with the default wallpaper but when i change it, it has the white over it
open the picture using file explorer and open it... then go to menu and select "add as today background" or w/e it says... then it will allow you to choose your opacity/transparency. =P
It doesnt give me that option? I have Touchflo turned off if that does anything?
Also is there away to get rid of the picture when i hit Start?
When ever i hit start the picture is behind the list...
Anyone? this is really annoying and i cant figure out whats going wrong

ROMeOS uses File Explorer extended, which I noticed doesn't give that option of opacity when you choose to use an image as wallpaper.
So is there away around this? Regedit possibly?
Anyone?
.
I'd also like an answer to this, I'm using the latest RomeOS.
There may be other solutions too but here is one of them:
Open your picture from "Programs>Pictures & Videos" - while the picture is opened at "Programs>Pictures & Videos" click "Menu" and select "Set as Today Background". Here you have the option to set Transparency Level (Set it to 0 if to see it clear) and click "Ok". You should get unshaded clear picture.
Surprisingly, I could not get the "Transparency Level" setting when I try to set background while browsing the picture from file explorer.
Hope this helps....
Thanks pksher, confirmed working with latest build of RomeOS. (Start > Programs > Multimedia > Pictures & Videos is the path, at least for RomeOS, though)
The OP had forgotten the face of his father. ;-)
Anyway - the useful thing I'll add is that this method works even without using TouchFlo3D. I gave up on it a while ago - and am using my own background image. I also found out that if you use an image 1024x768 or larger - the image will fit nicely in landscape as well. If you use a 640x480 image, when you go to landscape mode - the left part of the image will be added to the right to make up the difference.

[Q] Android browser with non-scrolling navigation bar...?

I love my TF. I hate browsing the web on it. Such a shame that the job it is meant to do, is the job it seems to do most poorly. Perhaps its down to the browsers, since I have yet to find one that doesnt get in the way of my surfing. I would be happy if I could find one with a navigation bar that doesnt disappear every time I scroll down the page. I have plenty screen for it, why can't I at least have the option? Is there any browser with a static navigation bar? I'm not using a phone, so I'd like my navigation buttons to be accessable regardless of where on the page I'm at. I'd love to have my tabs static too! Why is this such a hard request? If firefox would just port it's pc interface over it's android browser(which i find stable but a crappy interface), I would be in love.
Oh, and I hate gestures. I like actual buttons with real text labels.
Please call me a noob and tell me what I'm looking for already exists. I will praise you for it.

Just go to browser settings and go to the labs tab and then unchecked the quick controls box
I already have that unchecked. The problem is that when i scroll down, the back, forward, refresh, and home buttons disappear, along with the address bar. I want it to always be visible. from what i've seen, every browser for android does this, and it makes me batty.
just tap the screen and it comes back/ reappears.
I get that, but it's one tap and wait longer than I want to deal with. 5 browsers on my TF, and they all have this problem. I wonder if the ipad browser is any better...
have you tried dolphin mini? The addess bar stays on the top

Hi there, just wondering do you have problem with opera mobile displaying everything website smaller when compared to other browsers example stock browser. Every time opera will load the page with such small fonts it hurts to read. I tried to set the default zoom to 125% it looks better but problem is as soon as I click a link or open a new page, it will zoom out and gimme the small fonts again. Anyway to fix the zoom level?

hey
type in the address bar:
opera:config
hit enter, you'll see a page with diff. settings open up.
scroll down to:
"user prefs"
tap it and it'll expand then again scroll down to:
minimum font size
change the value from default 9 to whatever you like then scroll down to the bottom
and hit "save" button then hit 'ok' in the pop up.
also to speed up opera even more try this:
find "performance" section
tap to open
then scroll down and change the following values:
Max Connections Server 6
Max Connections Total 6
Max Persistent Connections 6
after, scroll down and hit save button then hit 'OK' in the pop up.
you can experiment with diff. values for "connections" settings, however I wouldn't go over 8,8,8 or 10,10,10 as some websites might load slower than with default values (4,6,4)
my browser doesn't always keep the saved settings, sometimes it'll revert to default values...
so it's really a hit or miss, at least for me...
also, the 'default zoom', 125% or whatever % you specify, happens when you double tap the text on screen, it'll zoom that amount
and also reflow the text to fit screen.

The problem with increasing the Minimu font size from 9 to just 12, is it will cut off the right side of somw sites. Like on xda the search button on the top right get cut off if u increase the size. I don't think opera mobile is made for table.

[how-to] Reverse scroll direction

I sussed this out today after messing with the registry.
This works for my UK Touch Cover but the device ID may be different for other regions and the Type Cover.
If it doesn't work, I've detailed at the end how to find out your device ID.
Search from the start menu for regedit.exe and run it
Firstly, backup your registry with File -> Export
Next, navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\HID\VEN_MSHW&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_MSAY0001&REV_100295A&Col02\4&365f1178&0&0001\Device Parameters"
On the right pane will be a key called "FlipFlopScroll", right-click it and select edit.
Change the value to 1
If you want to flip the horisontal scroll too, change the value "FlipFlopHScroll" to 1 as well.
Close everything and re-boot
Your touchpad will now scroll in the normal direction
If this doesn't work or if you want to confirm that the key you are editing above is correct for you:
Hit Search from the start menu and select the settings search type
Type "Device Manager" and hit enter
Look for Mice and Other Pointing Devices
Expand the tree and right mouse on "HID-Compliant Mouse"
Select "Properties" and then hit the "Details" tab.
In the drop-down box, select "Hardware IDs"
The first line will look like the middle part of the key above. Mine is: "VEN_MSHW&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_MSAY0001&REV_100295A&Col02" If yours is different, just look for your key in the same place and change the FlipFlopScroll values accordingly. Also, please post if yours is different so we can collect the right keys for all locations and cover types.
Happy scrolling!
Works perfectly on my Surface RT! Thank you so much, been looking for this for a while (ever since I first tried the Surface).
You don't actually have to reboot; just detach the cover and then re-attach it.
Here, have a .REG file to apply the settings with! In fact, have both the default and the flipped mode registry files.
Great stuff! Have you guys seen any other parameters that control scroll speed or acceleration? I'd really love to be able to control the speed of touch screen scrolling, but haven't found anything.
I don't know about touch screen scrolling, but you can easily adjust the trackpad scroll speed. Just open the Mouse control panel (Start -> "mouse" -> Settings, select the option called "Mouse"), go to the Wheel tab (which the trackpad pretends to be), and adjust the option. Since it's a smooth scroll, not discrete jumps, the concept of "lines" or "pages" of scroll don't mean anything, but the numbers still control how fast the scroll goes. I have my Surface set to 5 for the vertical scroll, which is a bit faster than normal.
There's actually an app solely for the Surface called Trackpad Settings that lets you reverse scroll direction too.

Yeah, that's actually scary that Store apps can do this. Hope MS is not dropping the ball on security...again...
It's *probably* either a special driver API (you may have noticed the Printer "driver" apps that can do things like show ink levels) or some system API that can be accessed from within the AppContainer (as opposed to directly editing the registry). Either way, it's intriguing.

I have a US keyboard with the same DeviceID as yours, yet the registry change does not flip my scrolling, in fact it disables it until I go into the Mouse settings and play with the wheel controls; then it reverts to the default f***ed-up Surface trackpad scrolling
App fix.
