Hi !
I hope i'm posting in the right section - please move if necessary.
Whenever i get a sms delivery receipt, it comes in the form of a sms which is fine. The thing is that on top of that, on the taskbar there appears this little white envelope which also tells me about having a receipt in the mailbox.
Now i was convinced that when i remove the receipt from my inbox, the tasbar will be updated and the icon will disappear.
But it does not.
Searching around i found a few topics with different receipt related problem and two programs were often mentioned - "smsdrfix" which is quite nice but doesn't do anything with my problem, and "sms report eraser" which i was hoping would do the trick but it doesn't.
As this is a very noticeable problem i guess that it was discussed before a lot so pardon me if i overlooked a tread.
Thanks in advance.

is there a way to have the vox display the date and time messages were received? Either a setting on the phone or a programme I can install?
Cheers S
A friend of mine who used to have a SE phone asked me the same question.
Unfortunately couldn't find an answer. Doesn't seem to be a built in functionality. I found also references in forums with people asking how this could be done (by developing an addin)... Guess someone willing to develop it has some future ahead
Ka.
Thanks for the reply. It just seems like such a basic thing i don't understand why MS would leave it out.

While in messages applications. Go to options. There should be something to check if you want to see the date and time of message arrivals. If that doesnt work, try the other way: when you read the specific message, click up on joystick one or two times. There should be all necessary info.
Try FlexMail 2007 from WebIS (www.webis.net). It isn't that cheap, at $30, but it is much better than the supplied applications. I was introduced to it because I found that deleting on the Vox also deletes on my IMAP server even when it shouldn't!
Hope this helps!
Select Text Messages or an e-mail account. Go to Menu->Tools->Options->Display and Check Show date and time in the message list
The option _is_ there.
Open an SMS message and press on the UP button.
I was talking about "Received by the recipient", actually the delivered timestamp.
Meaning:
I send a message, I have the delivered notification. Ok. Now I would like being able to open the Sent message and see on it when the recipient has received it or still pending delivery. I can do it checking everytime if I have a Delivered note but would be better having everything at the same place.
Ka.
what about call history, any ideas?
activate the delivery report.
When you recieve it, open it and go up with with you jojstick to se the time. the sent time of the report is the recieving time of the sms at the reciepent.
Hello, new here. Hope I don't sound too foolish.
Is there some way to simply add an icon to my today screen that will indicate a message (or email) has arrived? Perhaps a button that will be "lit up" when sms or email is waiting? Could it indicate the number of messages unread?
I know there are various add ons, interfaces, that have this feature, but they usually don't work well on my Imate 9502.
Any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks.
Nice forum
you can add messaging/email to your today screen which would show how many unread but it won't lite up..... this should be set to be there by default though
I am wondering.. i recieve quite a few emails throughout the day and at some point i like to go back to specific mail i recieved earlier and re-read it.. when i open the inbox to show all my mail, i am wondering if there was a way to change the way i view the actual inbox on my device? I am looking for something similar to the blackberry look where it only takes up one line instead of a few that way i can see more emails in the inbox without having to scroll down?
Thanks for any help.
i just looked through the menus and didn't see anything :\
Yeah unfortunately theres no option to change it.. I thought there may be some kind of tweak or hack that you can you perform to change it to some kind of list format
Email Inbox View
I heard there are alternative e-mail programs you can run on your device that will give you more of a " outlook feel ", with pre-view pane, etc
Anybody know what they are called and where to find them, I think something like that would solve everybodies problem
profimail and flexmail are 2 mail-clients i know. both are commercial but worth their price
my friend has a diamond on sprint and i saw his message box was sort of zoomed out and smaller. any idea on how to get something like that?
EDIT: FOUND IT! Go to start, settings, system, screen, text size and change the text size to make more emails show up in your inbox not a fix for the issue at hand but it made me happy
Hello.
Is it possible to mark an email as read in Sense 2.5? If I read an new SMS in Sense the '1' next to the SMS logo disappears after a few seconds. Is it possible to have this same feature on the emails tab? My work email syncs every hour so I sometimes have up to 10 new emails to read at a time.
If I could view them on the 'paper' Sense Tab then have the mail I'm reading be marked as read as I flick to the next email that would be great.
Any ideas?
I'd like to see this too.... and, I'd also like to see a Delete icon on the side so I don't have to open the message first to delete it.
Here Here..
Wouldn't be a problem if i didn't have 300 e-mails a day...
This would be a very handy feature for me too.
Can anyone shed some light on this? it seems like it could be useful for a number of people
this feature should've been in place since TF3D 1.0
we have the option to delete emails now with manila 2.5.2011, but mark as read would be a wonderful addition to that
Hi, if sense should mark the e-mails as read in just a flick... would not that make the possibility of missing a mail on youre office pretty big?
If one of the mails you where reading just as 50 new mails where popping in and the sense could not show it because there where to many e-mails to show up. just a thought...

Nah - that's not a legit reason for the feature not being there.... it needs to be in there.
is this (attached) what you mean?
(I use it, veeeeery handy )
what it does, is add an extra submenu item called "Mark all as read"
i didn't code it, not sure who did. credits go to him/her.

HI yes that is very good - and funnily enough, I just found and installed in about 3 minutes ago! This is useful fix and will def come in handy.
Would be nice if you could have it in the manila menu as a flick like the sms, but that features absence, this is the next best thing.
Good call, dXsL!
Funny enough, after applying this (Manila 2.5.20121225), i did not get the read-all option in manila, but the read-all option in the standard Inbox is gone.
Is there a fix for this yet in Manila?
A button above/under the new email button at the Manila Mail tab for "Mark all as read" would be the best!
Or a button at the Manila menu with "Mark all as read".
I've searched so long now but it looks like it is impossible to find. While I think that thousends of people have this "problem". I don't understand why this function isn't included.

That works great if you're in the in-box, but the OP (and I) want to be able to mark a message or mark all as read WITHOUT leaving sense to go to the Outlook in-box. Has anyone figured out how to do that?
I've just upgraded from a Hero to a Desire, I'm loving the Desire but have one very very annoying issue.
Whenever I receive an automated text, for instance from T-Mobile or Ocado the phone is assigning the sender as being someone from my contact list... has anyone else experienced this?
I've seen this issue on my N1. It affects not only automated messages as you said, but also those from other people.
i.e. Person A messages me, message placed in Person B's thread, Reply to message, Sent to Person B, or even Person C!!
The issue seems to be with the messaging app on 2.1, and I know that google is aware that it's faulty. Another thing to watch out for is the random deletion of all messages from your inbox. It doesn't happen to everyone, but if you are having the other bug, you might want to watch out, as they do seem to be related. btw, this is unrelated to the automatic clearing of inbox option in the messages setting.

Sorry I can't provide any useful help, but I just thought I'd let you know you aren't alone. It's affecting N1 and Droid owners too.
Thanks for the response, I suspected it wasn't device specific and you've just comfirmed that, so that's helpful to know!
Cheers
i have the same problem, just from another angel. if i select an contact and then press send sms, 60% of the times, it selects a totally diffrent contact as reciever.
also when i get a sms about a missed call, the sender is a randome contact from ny contactlist.
is there any threads about solving this bug?
The only other thread I can find on this site vaguely related is this one, although it's mostly about the sms random deleting.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-621228.html
There is an issue posted with Google, as I mentioned above
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=5669
I think people are (for the moment anyway) lumping these problems all under the same broad umbrella of faulty messaging.
If either/both of you can upload your bug report onto that thread, it will help google to work out what the problem actually is. Instructions for doing that are on the google thread.
OK so some progress on this, I spotted this thread here:
"http_://androidforums.com/htc-desire/61560-sms-incorrect-contacts-issue.html"
I'm not sure if it's isolated to the Desire, but HTC are aware... it's linked to Facebook sync of contacts.
