Hi,
I am using the standart email client, download size full. but the pictures in an email (html) are not loaded autom.
how can I make this happen that these pictures downloaded automaticly ?
thanks

Sorry mate - you can't do this. It's a security feature that we simply don't have a choice about.
It's been asked many times and there has never been a way to change it.

Maybe I'm too naive. But how can an image in an HTML document be a security issue?
Only thing I can think of is some tracking querystring in the src, but all the spammer can get from that is the email was opened and hence the address is active.
Is that such a big deal?
I really hope there's more to it to justify the annoyance of manually downloading the images.
JCM, do you have any clue?

Yes there is and it's not immediately obvious.
First go into meesaging and select POP3 from the accounts list.
Select Accounts
There are several steps
Edit: they are in reverse order here but you should still get the idea.

Cheers for the very detailed assistance - I think I didn't ask the quetion properly though, and for that I apologise for taking your time - am already able to check mail intermitently, but want to be able to do it automatically during the day ONLY. At night, I don't want any checking, but want that handled automatically, sorry for the confusion!

Not to worry, I've tried looking myself and can't see anything!
vgsmail
Try vgsmail, it's having a true imap mail-client, which you can shutdown at night. At least that's what I do. Maybe you can schedule it with PocketZenPhone.
For the rest it's running on WM2003 only WM5 is under development. You can find more about it in 'Push-email now available' at magician upgrading etc..
Regards, M
There is also sevens always on mail, that provides push email as welland can be scheduled. I think they still offer a 2 month trial.
ntil later
Jim
I think I'm trying to do what you are doing. Trying to get my phone to update my email and keep "push-email-like-list" of all emails on my Qtek 9100 WM5.
I'm using nPOP email which downloads all my yahoo.com mail. Problem is I can't get it to work with Gmail.com yet. And everytime it checks my email it has to redownload all my emails. Takes 10min to download 400+ email?
Oh well its kinda working and you have lots of options to schedule email checking.

Disable "internet pictures blocked" in mail?

is there a reg setting some where to have it download all images as soon as i open the mail, instead of blocking them and waiting for me to click "unblock?"
bump....guys anyone?
would love to know here too.
Still nothing - not here, not in the General forum either!
This is a great question - that bugs the hell out of me!
Any ideas?
I got curious and also searched. Came up with 2 other threads of with the same question and no resolution.
Maybe you could post this in the Kaiser Tweaks thread as a feature request for the XML? Some of the folks watching that thread really seem to know the registry!
Don't know an answer but
Its a Microsoft safety setting because you can put malicious code in a .jpg so they only want you to open trusted images (yeah weak I know) but its the same way with exchange server emails. Would be great to put this in kaiser tweaks but it would also be good to select all emails from a certain sender. So if I open an email from my friend there could be check a box and then from now on he is trusted and it auto does it instead of just doing in blanket style. but thats just my opinion i could be wrong

This is a feature of Exchange/Outlook 2007, but you can configure it to automatically download the pictures. Unfortunately it seems there isn't a method of doing the same for WM

yep...I'd like to know too.
Yeah, I'd like to know as well !!
I'd like to know how to download internet pictures even the second time. When I get "Internet pictures blocked" and I tap on it it then says "Download Internet pictures". When I tap on that "Internet pictures blocked" returns. I can Send/Receive and still no pictures. Frustrating.
If it matters I run my own email server on Linux and I am accessing it on the phone via IMAP.
I get this also on a standard ROM, anyone managed to suss it yet?
Very similar to the other problem I have with my Kaiser, regarding the "annoying "Internet pictures blocked" link in POutlook messaging.
FWIW, I don't know if it's a 6.1 thing or not, but it looks like if click the link the first time to emails, it'll cache the images so they'll open the next time you open that email -- but then again, who reads emails 15 times?
I was trying FlexMail, but for various reasons, not the least was my experience in asking questions on their forum which no one answered, but also the fact that when I get a Starbucks email, I'd like to be able to see the images not shrunk so much I can't read the text in the images... know what I mean? I bailed on that trial, and have used QMAIL, but it does something similar but much more comprehensive in scope... my only annoyance with QMAIL is it doesn't integrate into the messaging subsystem, oh well... so much for Voice Command telling me when I have new mail in my AutoPilot Qmail settings, but at least -- no "Internet Pictures Blocked" bull-pucky.
It seems though that maybe 6.1, as opposed to the older ROMs, is starting to show my email pictures without the nasty fuzziness! Hurray! I can see the Starbucks cup full-size, albeit I still have to tap the download images link the first time I open each email, and I have to tap the "scroll" link each time... maybe a small price to pay?
But maybe... just maybe, there's a registry king/queen out there who can pour through the registry and shed some light on these issues... maybe... I may, during some night-shift work, while I'm probably supposed to be passing medications ( ) sync up and look through the reg to see if I can see anything that might help, and putz around a bit.
HOWEVER... it'd be much easier if Microsoft just made a CAB that addressed these issues and fixed the problems, adding a few benefits on the side like trusted domains, adjustable font size, etc.
... but then again, maybe we'll run smack into another ice age by 2010, too...
Cheers,
BereanPK
Was this issue ever solved? It is soooo annoying, reading an emailm having to click you trust, having to click DL pics, having to go back, click send/recieve to DL pics. Then go look at the email. I have went from 1 tap and reading full HTML email on my iphone, to like 6 taps to get a full message on my WinMo phone.
I too am looking for a resolution to this.
Has this issue found a solution yet ?
Was hoping for an update when i saw this resurface. Hoping for something.....
still nothing! :-(
Still unsolved?
This thread has been floating around for ages now with no answer... adding "still unsolved" or "still nothing!" isn't likely to resolve it, so why do it?
C'mon people.... if you are going to post here, at least have an answer.

If things only were that simple. Everyone wants to check out our new touch pro's right.. But you don't want everyone to be able to read your sms messages. At least, I dont. Having a pass to the sms/mail tab is certainly on my wish list!

[i780] Send photo taken with camera directly via mail?

hello,
i've probably spent more than an hour now searching for the answer to my question:
is it possible to directly send a photo via email with my i780? if i press the send button in the camera app it automatically creates an mms, which is not what i want.
if this is not possible with the builtin app, is there any other way?
i'm really disappointed, even my 2+ year old nokia phone could do this out of the box...
thank you!
silly question i know... but you have setup an email account on your phone yes?
yes i did
i'm pretty sure it's the samsung camera app which is causing this. i spent my morning reading the msdn library and have since put together a quick and dirty solution... although i still can't believe that this can't be done with the standard application.
create new email, add your photo as an attachment. (or you can just send the "mms" to the email address)
sending mms to e-mail addresses is 30cents each here, so this is not an option
and of course i can just add my picture as an attachment after: closing the camera, going through the start menu to open messaging, create a new e-mail, select the right picture after selecting the right folder, add text. but this will take a(t least a) minute and is not what i wanted
directly mailing pics should be a standard feature on every phone with a camera...
anyway, if anyone is interested in what i wrote, i'd be glad to give out the source code (there's much room for improvement) on request.
Hi bocki! Can you please tell me how to do your quick and dirty solution. I have the same problem and I want to send a photo taken staright from the camera application. Thanks for letting me know how this works! Can you maybe even post it here? Thank you very much!!!
hey,
i attached the binary i'm currently using to this post. it needs the .net compact framework 3.5 (because i suck at everything else than c# and has currently no error handling at all, so if your device is not supported (which unfortunately i can't try out, it worked on my i780 and on the device emulator, so i guess that's a good sign!) you might even have to softreset...(but probably the app will just crash and nothing else will happen)
on first use, you will have to select the right e-mail account - it gets saved when you close the app and will be chosen automatically on subsequent starts.
if you have any problems, please let me know (it's best if you drop me a pm), i might be able to help!
[edit]new version on the next page, you'll probably want to get the newer one.[/edit]
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful!!!!
Any way I can change the size of the picture I am sending? I believe I can only choose 640. I would love to send a different size, too.
Also: The pictures gets saved into "Eigene Bilder". Anyway I can change the folder name in the registry?
Excellent work!!!! Thank you so much!
hey
glad my program is of use to others as well...
the "eigene bilder" destination is due to me hardcoding the german path, i will think of a better solution
the same goes for the resolution, as i said, this was quick and dirty (and by dirty i mean really really really ugly. ) - but i will fix this.
if you have any knowledge of c#, you may be able to fix this yourself, let me know if you need the sourcecode
i will address these issues as soon as possible and keep you posted!
skipping university in favour of coding was a good idea!
i implemented very basic error handling - if your camera is not supported, you will now get a very generic and vague error message
the same goes for invalid resolutions and folders, which can now be configured after the first start. (the first start will reset the path to \my documents\my pictures and the resolution to 640x480) sorry, no fancy dialogs, you'll have to enter the full path yourself (but you only have to do this once, so i hope this is okay).
any problems or other feature requests? let me know, i'm currently in the right mood
Hi Bocki! Thanks for looking at these issues. I am not too worried about the any of them, the folder is fine with me. But resolution would be very nice. Unfortunately, I cannot program it myself. :-( Thanks again for sharing!
please see the post directly above yours and try out the new version
Oops! I must have missed that, sorry! Great application, Thank you! I found out that if I put in 800*600, the camera starts with 1600 and I can choose my desired resolution. If I put in 1024*768 I don't get a choice. Would be great if one could also determine fine, normal etc...
Dont miss too much Uni, hehe.
Are you currently in Germany?

I don't know what you are using, but on my HD2, Pocket Outlook displays HTML just fine with picture (after telling it to display external pictures and allowing horizontal scroll) and I can download any attachment, just click on it and it will download in the background.
I agree, iPhone version of my Gmail is was sooo much better. Why can't it automactially d/l the HTML? Why do i have to click to 2 links for it to do it? Sometimes it still won't d/l it.
Hi,
It's my first post at the forum, maybe because my english is too bad. So, please forgive me if I'm not to clearly.
My question is: can I open and view directly the attachment in the browser, instead of save it on a folder? For example, can I click and open a .pdf file without saving and opening it with Adobe Reader?
I use to do it on my iPod Touch...
Thanks
