I understand that this website is mostly based on HTC devices but do any of you have the I760 on Verizon? I am completely handcuffed with VZW because they haven't released any WM6 HTC Devices yet (obviously a good 6 months behind anyone else)
I really like the device but I am lacking a lot of ability to install some of the great work that has been done by you. I cannot even get the HTC Album to work. Is there ROM work that can be done for this device at all? I would even take the ability to use the XV6700 ROM by Helmi at this point just to have some more ability but my guess is that will not work. My frustration is mounting as this phone becomes very generic outside of PocketCM and HTC home Plugin. Any info any owners or enthusiasts could provide would be most welcome.
bumbp please
Go to www.pdaphonehome.com There is a i-760 forum there. Should get you all you need. I have the same samsung and have the fully functioning HTC cube app on it. Actually most of the good "hacks" will lead you back to this forum
I have a Verizon SCH-i760 with mobile 6.1 on it. Is that what your looking for?
+1 ,lots of good specific info over there www.pdaphonehome.com
but........no custom ROM's just yet......hopefully soon **crosses fingers**
Anyone with an existing Android device and a nasty case of DROID envy today might want to hold off before switching devices, emptying the bank account, and possibly switching carriers in the process, because HTC's got a little bit of information here to end our day on a high note. Here's the full quote:
"Yes, we are working on an Eclair update for the HTC Hero. Because Eclair is a significantly enhanced release, it will require some time to update Sense for this new version of the Android OS. Please be patient while we work to provide you with a tightly integrated experience like the one you are already enjoying on your Hero."
Bottom line, the Hero is signed up for Android 2.0 and it's just a matter of HTC getting Sense ported and tested -- makes sense (no pun intended), and we imagine Motorola will have to go through these same hoops with BLUR. The company went on to mention that it intends to bring the update to all versions of the Hero, though it's up to partners (like Sprint, for instance) to help coordinate how and when that's going to go down. We don't have any information on the sundry Dream and Magic variants around the world at this point -- but it's important to remember that the Hero uses the same processor as its older siblings, so at least there's hope for a good xda-developers port if nothing else.

I can understand how frustrating this must be for people who read this forum and are around to provide help to those who are new but I have a pretty large question..
I recently got an Inspire and I want to put the stock Gingerbread ROM on my phone. I am simply looking for the form factor of the Inspire with the software of the Nexus S.
I have spent countless hours searching throughout these forums for even part of an answer to my question and have done absolutely nothing but confused myself further.. I have jailbroken my iPhone, used home brew on my Pre and constantly switched to leaked firmwares on my Blackberries but what is required to get into my Inspire (on the open software company mind you) is on the verge of impossible for someone such as myself.
As I understand walking me through this process would be very difficult I am simply looking for an answer to my question of, Is it possible to load Gingerbread onto the Inspire at this time?
Thanks to anyone for any help in advance!
Just CM7 for now...

Protip: Check out the Development threads. That's where all rooting/romming info is located.
You should check out this thread if you're looking for a CM7 ROM that more closely resembles the one on the Nexus S: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918639
Now there are official Release Candidates of CM7 available - great!
But there are several things I don't like about them: It's not "Nexus S Android", it uses ADW-Launcher instead of Launcher2, it doesn't have Nexus S Live-Wallpaper and there is a keyboard-bug, which still makes the keyboard a little too small.
Because of this I will now repack CyanogenMod 7 Releases to perfectly fit my own requirements. From time to time I will upload one, so that anyone who likes can also use them.
The aim of this ROM is to look and feel like the original Nexus S ROM, but offering the enhanced functionality of CyanogenMod 7.

Hey guys. I've got the Desire for like a year now. And it's not alot of great ROMs for the normal Desire. Can someone please make a Thunderbolt ROM for it ? And you know that new Thunderbolt, Mecha, Incredible HD or whatever it's called. I want you hackers to make a Thunderbolt ROM. And please don't make a fake look-a-like copy. Originally port or copy the ROM. And I live in Norway and do not have Verizon. So please unlock the ROM for all-over-the-world operators. And can you also modify the E, H and 3G icons to 4G only. Cuz I don't have a 4G network and it will look cool to have a 4G icon on H (Super-3G) and E (Edge).
This part is off-the-topic (but please read):
I'm a 13 year old computer nerd, so I love to get new stuff. (like ROMs). I've done alot of hacking. I booted Mac OS X into my eMachines E525 Notebook. But then I relized that mac sucks. I have also done Ubuntu, which is easy to do. But that sucked too. I've hacked games both computer and Xbox 360, but my mom don't want me to open and mod and JTag -.-'. So please don't be so rough with me and make me and other readers a very, very stable Thunderbolt ROM for our Desire G7 A18181 (that's the normal Desire of course, haha! Just a longer name, no Z, HD or S) Post a reply here if you've made a ROM and a list in the replay with over bugs, specs and a blue download link, etc.
You may get more responses if you make this request in the Thunderbolt or Desire forum
Are you being serious? There are loads and loads of roms availble for the Desire, for an older handset it has some great development. Thundebolt ROM may not of been ported due to hardware limitations. New sense roms are huge and some older handsets simply don't have the memory availble to install them.
Try this one really good sense rom with sense 3.0 goodies http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016940

OK it don't need to be a port then. But I want thunderbolt
Hi, I am new here. I have followed along on a few threads over the last few months ever since I flashed my MyTouch 4g with Cyanogen.
So here's my question. Is anybody working on porting Windows Phone 7.5 to android devices?
I have a MyTouch 4g and have been wanting to move to Windows Phone 7.5, the only problem is, I want 4g, and the Titan and Radar have been playing coy with me and cannot give definitive release dates. I'm done waiting, if there is anyway to install Windows Phone 7.5 on the MyTouch, it would be awesome. I would even be willing to pay for a Rom that is capable of being flashed to the phone. I know it is difficult and far beyond my scope of knowledge to write drivers and all the little necessary bits to make a Rom work on each device but if anyone is working on it, that'd be great.
Am I insane to hope for such a port, or is anybody out there working on that?
