Been looking around for awhile for an app like on the iphone and android. Where when you receive a text a box pops giving you an option tobe able quick reply wherever you are in the phone.

Sup guys
Second day with the new touch pro, lovin it. Theres a few things that are bugging me, though. When I send a text, it places a copy in my Inbox like: Me: Message
It clutters up my inbox a ton, but is it necessary for threaded messaging to work?
Also, if I go to hit the compose button on TF3D, and rotate the screen before the actual text box comes up (5 seconds later) then the ****ty 8 button landscape view will come up and screw up my message. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks guys
Joe
Just wanna know if everyone deals with this.
Everyone have their sent SMS's in their inbox?

you can change threaded mode to normal.then you have recieved messages in your inbox and sent in sent items.but i think you know this already.if you want to use threaded mode this is something you heve to live with
or check out this software http://iwindowsmobile.com/threaded-sms-messaging.html .it is not free but could help you keep threaded mode.try trial first and see if you like it.
Or does it??
you already get a notification when an email arrives, what more do you want?
an intrusive, iPhone like pop up box like in the 90ies?
Sounds like he does. To each his own. Does Gmail Notifier app do that maybe? Worth checking out, OP.

Guess I get tired of dragging down the notification bar to clear the notification every time I get an email throughout the day. It takes more movements that way and it builds up to annoyance throughout the day. Seems easier to take that away and just have a popup that shows me I have an email and gives the option to close the popup or read/respond.
The option exist for SMS and it works great - figured it'd work great for email too. Surprised it doesn't exist.
I'm glad you asked - I happen to have just the right thing for you
Just search for "Gmail Popup" on the Android Market. There's a free trial version as well which works until the end of this month.
Looking forward to your feedback!
So I do not know if this is a native android app, but when you are on the phone, there is a slide up that allows you to respond with a predefined response.
Is there a way to customize these? I have been unable to find this setting.
Good question. Somebody grep -R for the file. I'd like to add a nice reply "can't talk, too busy fighting my phone."
Menu
Settings
Call settings
All calls
Reject call with message
Create new message
In that order. =)
Edited to add that you can short-click on any of the existing ones to modify them. We have a maximum of 5 to play with.
Nice! I see they made it straight forward.
Thanks!

Not sure if I follow this, is this to replace my Gmail app? Or run alongside it?
And if it is to run alongside it does that mean I will have two apps draining the battery receiving emails rather than one?
great app so far, ive been dying for this very feature.
some comments:
1. if i delete the email that is the only notification, the popup should close.
2. often i cannot delete an email (a toast message tells me so)
3. often my notification tone does not play
other than these 3 annoyances, right now im very happy. keep updating!

4. not getting the popup notification... last lines of the diagnostic log are in the screenshot
manually slecting 'check now' sure woke it up!
How about customization of the buttons? Rather than close, Archive, Delete, Reply might be better?
Looks like a great app, just what I was looking for.
Can you add the option to use the built-in Android accounts, or something like OAuth? Nothing personal, but I'd rather not provide my password to a new app.
Interesting app!
Can you add custom IMAP port support?
Looks nice. Any chance you could add an option to import accounts from K9?
wahoooo.
looks awesome
When clicking the reply button, I get to the account overview of K9 mail where i have to select the account and the open the mail, I wanted to reply to. Any way to fix this?
The right pane of the notification area says "Select a notification" but nothing happens when I select any notification. I have few question for which I need answers.
1. When I go to notifications in the desktop software, I dont see the entire message in a notification and when I click on it, nothing appears on the right. How can I see the full message?
2. While using whatsapp, I keep getting lots of messages like "6 messages from 2 conversations." How do see these 6 messages? Nothing happens when I click on it.
3. For example if I get a whatsapp message from my friend Bob with a message "Hey.... how is it going? wanna make some plan for the evening? im free after 5, leave a message when free", the message will pop up with a full message for a glimpse but it will disappear after a while and then it will go to the notification panel like this:
Code:
[B]John[/B]
Hey.... how is it going? wanna make some p..
Now here if john sends another message, the notification panel will say:
Code:
[B]John[/B]
2 new messages
The second following message will not be shown on the notification panel. While in a meeting or at a place away from my phone, I can use my laptop to view notifications but cannot see because the notifications are grouped with messages like "9 messages from 5 conversations.". Is there any solution to this?
4. I was not able to find notifications in the Web interface of android, It has messages, apps, files, photos, muic, ringtones, videos, call logs, contacts, frequent, screenshot, camera, find phone and help but no notification. Is that to be installed somehow?
5. A lot of search on this brought me to this AirDroid topic of xda. So far I got only one place to look for my notifications. Thats in the C:\AirDroid\AirNotify100.db area. I opened that database in SQLite 3, it had all the fields like OWID, ApkID, Title, Content, MsgID, MsgDate, MsgFrom, Ptype, AppInfo, IsRead but the content and other things are in encrypted form. Any idea how to decode that? I added the decoding question in the general discussion too http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/sqlite-3-read-encrypted-messages-t2982672
Thanks
