Xplore 2.0 Problems

Well i just installed Xplore 2.0 and when i try to enable wi fi it just brings up that loading circle thing, and goes away without turning wi fi on. So then i tryed to soft reset, and now my today screen just freezes.

2. What programs you have installed ?
3. Were you using overclocking ? Details...

Nevermind, got everything working, just needed to soft reset it a couple of times. but thanks for quick response to help. This ROM is amazing.

BTW , new link will be added in a couple minutes
I fixed Windows Live, the camera template problem and also added simmanager 6.10 .... + some minor things

With the Camera Template issue what was missing? I am having the same issue with my own cooked ROM and rather than figure it out myself, it looks like you have already done the hard work

what rom you're using ?

so for this new update should i just install it over my current ROM which i just flashed yesterday, or should i do the whole T-mobile 2.26 rom and then this?

It's better that you flash the tmob 2.26 first.

I will provide some cabs for you people to install with different themes.
The colours I used cannot be kept into an .tsk, only instalation by cab works.
That is why you cannot have back the default theme.

Just me or can I not turn off certain screen tap sounds? For example, when I click the Start button, and menus therein (among a few others), I always hear a click sound. Any ideas?

did u go to start/settings/sounds and notifications/uncheck enable sounds for events (warnings, system events)? and also uncheck screen taps and hardware buttons.

[WORKING!] Android on XDA Orbit 2

Since I posted a thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=675311 and nobody could help me. I spent the past 5 days trying to get it to work and did it successfully (through haret).
Here's how to did it:
1. Download this .RAR I put together that includes:
-Eclair
-haret
-default.txt
2. Edit the "mddi.width=320 mddi.height=480" part of the "default.txt" to your needs. (either 320/480 or 240/320)
3. Put the content of the folder "android-orbit2-eclair" to the root of your SD card so it should be something like this:

-(D:) SD Card [COLOR="Red"](root)[/COLOR]
--conf
--media
--default.txt
--haret.exe
--initrd.gz
--rootfs.img
--system.sqsh
--zImage
4. Navigate to the SD Card (start>programs>file explorer>storage card) and click on the "haret.exe"
5. Once that has loaded up click "run" (about 3 lines down on right side)
6. Just wait, Give it chance to do its thing and simple... Android running on your XDA orbit 2.

it dosent work on my htc touch cruise.
I click on Run, and the screen becomes gradually black, and that finished as that… nothing any more occurs.
The screen is lit, but is black, and nothing occurs.

New problem now: I have the same message than you :

If you read the title it says for XDA orbit 2 not touch cruise.

Have you managed to get gprs/3g working with this? I can't seem to get mobile web working on my XDA Orbit II

I dont know whart u are doing here.
But i can use myns donut and eclair totally easy without modding something.
I just have to use the right "default.txt"...
Most packages you find here habe a "default-polaris.txt" in it or you use the one form myn ... It works great for the orbit 2 too

But maby i dont get what you are doing here.. some special build or something?
BUt running android on orbit 2 is net a problem at all just use right conf.

Wifi works with myns eclair and donut. There are fixes (androidupdate.tar) you have to use (nomorootfs)

could u tell me which version have u installed? 1.6?
I succeeded installing the 1.6 version. but when I was trying installing the latest version, I was stucked at the screen which requires me to long-push the dpad center button. I did it but didnt work. I've even tried every keys, still didnt work.

I have tried myn's and default-polaris does not work on my xda orbit 2. Also when I do get haret to run I have had trouble actually getting android to boot due to a continual "power wakeup" message. The default-polaris results in a flashing white screen for me. This config is the only config that actually works on my orbit 2.

Hello, i am just a newbie on Android for Polaris, so plz forgive me dump postings At the moment i am a bit spacy what i have to put together to work Android on my XDA2.
android-orbit2-eclair works on my XDA2 after installing but:
phone can't do outgoing calls:
3G can`t connect,
Cam/Gallery crashes
Wifi works.
Touchscreen works and all the rest.
before i installed the recent builds of froyo and eclair
System shows 10-15 min nice boot flash, then it works, but touch screen doesn`t work.
Anyway all the developers doing a great job here!

Im not using sd haret anymore. If you try with nand flash (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=636024) everything works like a charm.
But as i used haret on my Orbit2 i was good with the package myn offered in her donut(or eclair im not sure).
In the package were a default.txt and a one for polaris/Orbit. I changed the polaris one to default (renaming) and it worked.
I think it was the donut package and it worked with zimages for eclair too.
Try this package if it works its worth a attemp to look into the default txt for other builds.
But atm i would suggest to give android at flash a try. Its almost perfekt for daily use if you not to much with some special programms on winmo.
As far as i read there are problems with haret atm gernerally that programms close even if install is fine.

Seems that flashing is the solution to all my problems, but
can you try to explain what makes the difference between haret and a NAND flash install relatet to the runing system?
Unfortunaley my XDA Obit2 is the carrier of my beloved navigation software. The other Wimo apps are junk compared with android. If there is a offline solution for Car Navigation on android, i could kick Wimo into the trash bin. Also i am a Linux user as well on my PC

I've tried it and it seems it works, but I have a few questions and one major problem:
1. I installed the systems without the SIM card. When I started it again with SIM card, system says that the PIN I type is wrong altough I know that it's correct. How to solve it? Maybe it is so because I'm not O2 customer?
2. Is it possible to boot Android automatically without flashing NAND?
3. Can I theoretically Install Donut or Froyo using this method simply by putting different Zimage in the folder?
4. Do I have to perform another installation in case of buying a battery of more capacity? I saw that default.txt contains information about the battery.
5. May it work well If I change default.txt to the one prepared by atools?

I modified it for haret to O2_Orbit_2 (POLA200)_panel_3
All work perfectly except CAMERA

I kinda figured you fell asleep last night Kolohe. I will check your beta when I get home from work later today and put up the mirror. I am going to keep your old ROMs up there too

got a question.
Did a total wipe and when it booted up first time, I got a low space warning. Apparently a whole bunch of my apps that were on SDcard came back as installed. And because on first boot, apps2sd isn't on yet, it tried to put them on internal (I had about +/- 80 apps come back from my 139 total)
So I backed out, rewiped data, dalvik, and ext, and reflashed rom. It boot up fine again, but once again, it immediately installed 7 of the apps (replica island, docs to go, pobs... just to name a few). So I moved them to sd card and all is fine.
The question is:
1. Is this normal? I've never had this happen before CM5 based ROMs. I haven't tried any other Eclair roms except the CM5 based ones and I wasn't sure if this is a behavior that's normal for 2.1 roms.
2. Why only some of the apps come back? Isn't wiping ext supposed to clear it all out or am I mistaken?

Just wanted to let you know, there seems to be a problem with using Backup for Root users. It will break any apps allready installed and fix_permissions or Repair ext will not help, I have found this to be true on all CY5 based roms.
EDIT:Restoring SMS,Call log and even Market DB seems to work fine after running Fix_permissions, Restoring APPS Does Nothing.(No APPS Restored) It Was trying use the Dusted-donuts hack that caused the apps to be Broken.
EDIT:::: The problem WITH APPS NOT WORKING APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY ME TRYING TO USE THE JIT HACK "DUSTED-DONUTS" LIKE I DID WITH 4.1. I believe the JIT Flash Update for Cy5 will work though.

I'm using the Jit-Hack And AnyKernel OC Patch,changed swappiness to 95 in 86supersettings,and cpu refresh to 1000000(kills batt),and Cpu Min/Max to 122800/716000. Still using SetCPU for Sleep/failsafe Profile.
EDIT2: I just noticed that at the initial google sign in screen you can press menu and in addition to the normal Wireless settings option there is now an option to disable auto restore!( I know you probably already knew that and it has been mentioned a hundred times!)

Will fix the apparently problem but that might be caused by thenew boot script that wipes the dalvik cache. .. will be working on that later today

Yes it is normal but if you want to turn it off before you log in press menu button in setup andthere should be an option to turn it off

I would like to thank Incubus for his generosity and for his support. We would be nowhere if people like him didn't share their knowledge.
I got into some files and updates and I finally stumbled upon a working set of files that will allow you to start Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in our devices. I made it so we can install it without the need of updates. This build I modified is ready to work with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

It's strange. Wifi works for me. The camera won't work because it has not been ported to Eclair yet.
By the way, is there anybody that has tried out my modification with success? Please, send feedback.

Bluetooth File Transfer
How program you use for send/receive files via BT?

To receive you just have to turn BT on and pair the two devices. It will notify you when an incoming file is waiting (you've got to accept it).
To send I use an app that is named Bluetooth OPP Put Lite. Install it, go to ASTRO File Explorer and choose Send from the context menu. You will see a new option to send the file. I used it and it really works!

Well, wifi scanning is not working Wifi turns on but it does not scan. BT works fine.

I used the .nhb of dzo's latest version (2010-05-07), then bt and wifi are working well.
But I found that Incubus' Super Eclair was much slower than Myn's

I tested many times but impossible to use wifi !! I can turn on and off but no network...
I install again and boot twice...

Could the radio rom be the issue? Which one do you use and which ones others? Lets compare?
Did you combine Kaiser wifi update for eclair and wlan.ko from dzo? That combination worked for me few days ago, and what was interesting that without dzo's wlan.ko wifi coud be enabled, but no scan.

Haret booting stopped working

Hello all
I've been using haret method to boot android on a Pola100 device for a long time. Until now, I've never had problems at all with this kind of booting. With recent kernels, it has stopped working and now I can't boot android anymore.
After pressing "Run" in haret, the phone makes a double vibration and screen turns off inmediately. The phone get stucked at this step and I need to recover it by removing battery.
I'm using Myn's Warm Donut with latest kernel from dzo repository (only FAT partition in my SD card) and default.txt with panel=1.
Do you know any solution for this issue?

I've also problems with the newest DZO kernels. I found a solution for me.
I use panel=3 (230x320) with the kernel 23-06-2010. This works perfectly on my XDA Orbit 2.

I don't know how, but now it works. I'm using panel=1 and new kernel (20100623)

I see that no problem with Pola200, but with Pola100 as mine .... same problem.
Or Double vibrate and shoutdown; or "error for not busy".

In my Pola100 I have always double vibration and "error waiting for not busy" , android starts after a lot of time, and Ask me for kill process or wait.
Nothing has changed for me :-(
WHY ????

I have downloaded 25.06.2010 twice: once at 7.00(UMT), then in 13.00(UMT). First gave me double vibe, second runs well now. I have change nothing in configs, so maybe there were some changes between my two downloads, try download kernel again.

I get these errors with 23-06-10 and more earliest, but with 25-06-10 is booting normal.
Already 3 bootup passed.

Maybe it's a rom (WinMo) problem ?
Maybe it's not caused from zImage ?
But... Why Paipo zImage works and the other not ?
Maybe can be Useful to zip and post ALL andboot folder (except big files:androidinstall, data and system)... including initdr, default.txt, haret.exe ....
... I need to understand why I have this problem.

Idreadful your basefile are "wrong".
In your DEFAULT.TXT you recall the last kernel working ("set KERNEL zImage-29-04-10"").
Infact if you edit your default and set for last kernel (of today) always the same history: double vibe, error and no start android.

Yes, i also getting these errors again...
But i found out, need run Haret.exe as soon possible after reboot.
Then i getting a 100% boot without errors.

Hi,
I've found a solution for my XDA Orbit 2.
Sometimes I've also the problem with the boot from sdcard. With all sdcards.
Than I must short remove the battery an than tthe boot is okay.
But only with kernel 23-06-2010. All newer kernels don't boot correctly.
I don't know why...
