Flash Enable Browser on Droid (2.0 and above) - Android Apps and Games

Finally.... SkyFire come in place....
Personally tested on CNN works but some issue on BBC website...
Well..I'm not able to post URL here....
So everyone go to Google for Skyfire

I have issues with it playing flash in some sites, which is strange, as the WinMo version does it flawlessly.

Looks cool, I'll check this out.

Decent Web Browser at all?

I got a new orbit 2 a few days ago, only to be dissapointed about the web browser capabilities.
I tried opera, but dont like how the fit to screen option distorts the page and desktop option makes the page become massive and difficult to navigate.
Also, is there anyway way of watching online videos SMOOTHLY?
The flash plugin works but its really choppy.
Not sure whether ill be keeping the upgrade, taking offers for it.
The choppy video is probably because of the driver issues (you can read more about it in the forums if you search a little)
And did you get opera 8.5 bundled with your phone? Opera 9.5 is much smoother and better looking than the 8.5 version (imo), and i'll suggest you try upgrading to it to see if there is any difference.
I watched the video regarding Opera 9.5 but its still not released, and by the looks of what I gathered from other forums, people are becoming impatient.
Im currently using Opera 8.65 and no it wasnt bundled with my phone.
So will those driver issues fix the choppy video playback?.
Normal videos saved to the device work fine its just the online ones that use a flash applet like dailymotion
Try Skyfire (you'll have to sign up for it), is really amazing, is very fast and smooth

Need to do some more research on it before you get it I guess.
Anyways, CorePlayer, TCMP player all play videos fine.
ALL browsers are FINE and work great for different things.
I myself use pocket IE for sites that are in mobile format, and opera 9.5 "beta" for sites that are not in mobile format. I would use opera mobile if it wouldn't install over my 9.5, instead of pocket IE, but all my text based sites work fine in pocket IE (ebay, paypal, howardforums, flickr, youtube, etc)
I don't really know who watches youtube videos or other internet based videos via their browser, I've always seen them being watched through TCMP, CorePlayer, WMP streaming or HTC streaming media.
There are no official driver updates coming.
I am unsure as to the technology that Dailymotion uses, but if it's youtube based then you should have no problems.
I think you are looking for a desktop in a pocketpc, which no one has quite yet. Maybe an HTC advantage, who knows.
Doesnt matter what phone you have, all software will run the same if the devices were made in the same time frame.
Oh and I assume orbit 2 is in Europe somewhere? None the less, Skyfire is available to U.S. numbers only apparently for it's beta. Maybe NetFront would work for you, try that. I hated it.

Have you tried Opera Mini? Their new beta v4.1 can be downloaded and really works great. My favorite browser so far.
try opera with limit paragraph on. that's amazing.
Opera 9 (beta) is working really well, especially for a beta. Panning in web pages is pretty smooth most of the time and as the above poster said, with limit paragraph on, reading articles on news sites, etc is doable.
The negatives are it is a beta so bugs here and there. Other issues are the touch keyboards (numbers only) don't work and neither does pocketCM (space between every character). I don't believe there is flash support in the browser either.
I use PIE for youtube/flashbundle combo.
whats flash bundle?
do a search on it. it allows you to watch videos from sites like youtube (the real youtube not the mobile version of it). those sites use flash video and the flashbundle is a plugin for PIE that enables that functionality in PIE.
I have the flash 7 plugin, is that the same thing?
Whenever i try and load the non-mobile version of u-tube on PIE,
The whole phone just crashes and i have to take the battery out!

You know there is a little round hole on the bottom of the device next to the USB called the 'Reset Hole"??? Put the stylus in it and you won't have to get the battery out....
Just search for TCMP and FlashVideoBundle cab files and install them.
When you go to youtube.com and watch a vdieo, it will give you an option of saving or playing the video. It uses the true youtube video not some crappy mobile version as said before, and it's really smooth. I watch cartoons and shows that way that i can't get on my tv, it's a life saver. really great quality and resolution for my cruise.
Try NetFront 3.5 for the ultimate web experience on a phone It's a class of it's own
You can get it here.
http://www.access-company.com/products/netfrontmobile/browser/35_wm_tp.html
Picsel browser is fast and smooth and does a nice job of re-formatting, also reads .PDF files and a bunch of other things
Opera mini 4.1 is very good for browsing although I don't like the way you input web addresses, and lack of file save features.
And for tabbed browsing newest Opera or Pieplus

If the player on the page is based on Flash then possibly yes...
I just installed Flash 7 and it hosed my PIE. Froze the phone and had to soft reset. Could not view any page with flash content. I uninstalled and I'm back to being able to view with TCPMP. So basically flash 7 is not compatible with PIE... I was thinking about trying it with Opera Mini but didn't even get that far. Is Flash 7 necessary with Opera Mini or Opera 9.5?

[Q]HTC Touch HD: Adobe Flash Player issues...?

Hi,
I have a HTC Touch HD (Rom version: 1.14.405.3) and sometimes when I try to watch a video online (streaming using Opera or IE) I get a message: Adobe Flash outdated or Javascript disabled.
You Tube Application plays videos fine, but any videos on different websites does not... is this a flash issue...?
I tried to download Adobe Flash 2.1 or 3.0, but I couldn't find the download link on Adobe.com.
Is this a known issue...?
Flash on Windows Mobile
Flash on Windows Mobile is rather problematic at the moment and very hit and miss. Some sites work fine, others do not. You can try looking for a new version of Opera, which I believe has some better flash support. I've also found that skyfire is working quite well for some of the different sites I've tried (e.g. Hulu, Youtube, etc.).
I have opera version 9.5, build 2682.
Can I get the link to the cab file of Adobe Lite 2 or 3...? I found a thread here but the link was removed due to Adobe Compliant.

Skyfire is LIVE on the android market!

http://www.mobilecrunch.com/2010/04/29/skyfire-2-0-for-android-launching-today/
The way they do flash is a pretty neat idea. Heh. =)
It is back up on the Market, you can download it there.
someone try hulu -- i can't do it myself at the moment and i'm curious to see how it works(if at all)
Just tested it. Gotta say.
It's bad.
The pinch to zoom is horrible and I don't care if they can play flash. I'll wait for Froyo. Lol. Stock browser seems to be the best for me so far. Haha.

I agree, not running the way it does on the HD2. I will wait till the official beta release of flash 10.1 mobile!
It's nice, and playing flash is great, but it's pretty choppy.
I'll stick with Fennec for now, I can wait for an official Flash release.
Haven't tried pinch zoom, but flash playback worked flawless for me on tmo 3g. loaded up thedailyshow.com and was able to watch a full episode without an issue
Why don't they have this running like it was on my T-Mobile Dash 3G? This is garbage. No flash in the browser. Only flash videos. For example, Strong Bad Emails loads up on my Dash as it would on my PC, but with Skyfire for Android, all I get are those damn boxes with question marks in them. This is a huge let down. Not at all what I expected from Skyfire. As far as I'm concerned, this is fail. Especially with true Flash support around the corner from Adobe. Skyfire had a chance to beat them to the punch here, and they failed. Embarrassing if you ask me.
Doesn't seem to work with all flash videos but its still pretty quick. Anyone know of a good way to test this cloud speed compared to any other browser?
After trying it out for a few minutes i figured out that it does load most videos. I cant check hulu since im a canuck thought. sometimes you simply need to refresh the page and it will find the video. i also found that if you load up the video and it just shows a white box it will always freeze at 25%. This is easily fixed by backing out and reloading the video. Whenever i saw a screenshot of the video while it loaded, it always loaded full.
sites tried and all worked.
crackberry.com
ign.com
xvideos.com ( hey... its strickly educational!)
I cannot actually tell whether this is using the cloud as claimed or not.
For example, using opera mini and visiting what's my ip will show an Opera ip confirming that your days is traveling via opera and is bring compressed etc.
Skyfire doesn't - it shows my ip and renders almost identical to the stock browser. Pages do seem to load a but quicker but that could just be because I'm expecting them to.
maybe I'll run netstat and see whether skyfire actually connects to a skyfire server when rendering a normal page..

No need, I can tell you the answer:
All web pages/normal browsing is done on the device, and is rendered using webkit, and not through a proxy, a la Opera. This is the same reason videos can't be displayed inline. The only time the cloud is used is for transcoding video. If you were to watch a netstat while watching a flash video, you'd see your device connecting to Skyfire's servers.

That's pretty crap. One of Skyfire's attractions was that it worked like Opera Mini but rendered pages better. If its just the stock browser essentially with the ability to watch flash videos then it's of little value.

Keep in mind its still beta, it will get better.

In my opinion, it doesn't work any worse than the stock browser, so it's still worth using. You're still getting the ability to watch flash videos(which has worked well in my experience), plus you get sleeker tabbed browsing and easy user agent switching right in the toolbar.
The only Flash Video I have been able to get to play are the ones on the sites pre-bookmarked on the Stock Skyfire Homepage. When it doesn't work, I get the Video popup, click on it. The video loads, looks like it starts to buffer and then, instead of playing it reads something to the effect of, Content not available for your device. We're sorry for the Inconvenience.
I haven't tested a lot of sites but no Hulu, no YouPorn, and worst of all, no Sirius Satellite Radio, like i could do on WinMo a year ago.
On the plus side, its nice to have the full Google Voice site available on the phone and Google Wave seems to be rendering nicely.
Great start, flash works good for me on tmo 3g. Videos look great. Rendering is good and quick. Like others said pinch to zoom needs work, but this is now my second favorite browser behind HTC sense browser.
I tested
IGN - Works
Gametrailers - Doesnt
Espn - Works
Facebook - Doesnt
thedailyshow - works
Abc.com - Works! (watching full episode of better off ted !)
Worldstarhiphop - Works

Yeah, I tried it on the daily show as well, and it worked great. Due to the way this is set up, it'd be impossible for them to cover every site. I noticed they do have a 'report non-working video' option in the menu, so people may want to try using that to help improve the service.
I noticed that you can pinch to zoom and with two fingers still on the screen you can scoll around the page.

skyfire isn´t supported in every country and it can´t really handle flash on all sites. if your watching a video it isn´t very fluid. no comparison to the android version of skyfire or the froyo browser.
i think uzard is the best you can get on winmo at the moment.

Haven't tried Uzard, but will. I hear it's good. Skyfire is hit & miss for me. I can watch some videos, with a lag. But it won't play YouTube! So it is only a temporary solution until something better comes along, like Uzard from what I am hearing.
I tried everything for Wm and skyfire and uzard are the closest you'll get to full flash but its not perfect.
I just boot into android (froyo builds) to get proper flash 10.1 sites.
Would highly recommend it. BBC iplayer works brilliant through the froyo browser.
All the flash sites I tried (like miniclip.com) were much better on android than on uzard/skyfire/wm

alrite thanks! ill try uzard right now
according to the uzard website, it supports VGA and QVGA and as far as i know hd2 is WVGA.
how to set all the page fit into the screen? I dont want to move arround.
I don't like uzard because when I try to rewind a video it starts all over.

I have to say that i agree here, while booting into android is a pain just to watch a flash video, the performance is impressive... video sizes to screen very nice and is quick.
If you are just missing youtube though have you tried the you tube app? I have had great success with that...
It will be good if we have true full flash support browser on windows mobile but personally i prefer to go on android... and the fact that hd2 soon will have android flashable rom makes me excited a lot!!
Is there a chance that the upcoming Adobe Flash 10.1 for Windows mobile 7 can be ripped for using with WM 6.5(.X)?

DolphinHD Browser
Adobe Flash Player 10.1.120.5
Didn't work on the stock browser nor Opera, I don't know why. Although I also didn't spend a whole lot of time trouble shooting the other two browsers.
I think that's it.

I've been enjoying games on ESPN3.com using the Skyfire browser. Love it. GO CUSE!!!!
ESPN3 has been working fine here since the December 24 update, and is still OK with the 3389 update. FWIW the live feeds at RT (Russia Today) (rt.com and rt.com/usa) also work very well; I was watching their coverage of the airport bombing about 15 minutes after it occurred (CNBC broke the news very quickly). And for those who believe Rush (rushlimbaugh.com) is right, my subscription to his live video feed and past programs also plays well on this stock gTablet. The broadcast audio feeds on radio.com also are good.
