I am not sure if it is right place to post, if not please move this thread.
I need to change standard Email.apk from black background/white letters to white background/black letters.
Funny thing, two email clients for Android - gmail and email - have such different design!
Anyway black background is good for OLED display but definitely bad to my eyes, and I am pretty sure I'm not alone.
So is there any way to skin, theme or mod this apk to invert it's color palette?
any reason not to just use K-9 Mail?
It is open source, connects to every type of email account you would have and you can change theme from light to dark whenever ya feel the need.

is it possible for someone who is familiar with morphs, to make a SMS notification icon which is similar to the sms icon in apps?

Use this morph...but only apply the "Mms.apk" sub-component of it.
The MMS icon is set to the green one you describe but the SMS one is yellow. Let me know if you want both to be green. (will copy the icon and make a morph)
Note: theres one sms icon in framework-res.apk too, the yellow one.
update: Heres a new morph that sets the sms icon to the green one. Will need a reboot after applying.
Credit: formel-lms for the icon.

this app/widget is excellent!
however its only limited to gmail, sms, and phone
is there a similar app for the email app? (i.e exchange/imap/pop3 accounts)
I have modified the official Twitter app widget to match my theme minimalistic...problem is the text is black and I need it to be white...can anyone take the apk I attached and convert the widget text to white for me...please :-(

As well... just a suggestion, but maybe white text on the Facebook widget as well. That grey is very hard to read with your minimalistic theme. If not, it's cool... more along the lines of just a suggestion.

I wasn't aware it didn't exist...because I had a theme prior to this theme and that facebook already had the XML edits.
I suggest you flash a dark FB widget morph from another theme then flash the minimal metamorph.
I wanted to ask if somebody could provide a version with inverted colors?

I have GC 1.8.5 installed and removed the email app associated with it, installed the Ozemail.apk that is stock on the Charge because I prefer the push email feature. However, it's still themed with the brown and tan ugliness.
I tried using some apk editing software on my computer but I can't figure it out. Can someone do a gingerbread green and black theme for this email app? It would match with my Gmail and Android Market, that would be awesome. I'm thinking about having the top bar gingerbread green, the dates being green, and the rest black with white lettering.

I have been trying to find the code for setting a kik messenger background image. I have tried editing the apk file however that does not work, as the background is set to a solid color. Even when putting in the code to add an image it does not work, the application just force closes or the picture never loads.
Can any one, or has anyone successfully added an image background to kik messenger chats?
Please assist if you can, I have been searching for a way to do this forever!

The only way I have been able to change the backround is having a custom theme with the picutre you want for the kik app. I know that the cm blacked out theme turns the backround black as well. You could try making your own theme and applying the picture you'd like in the theme so it would be applied in kik, but to do that you need a rom that supports custom themes. Hope this helps!

Thanks Olycius! Maybe that is why it wasn't working for me... I will look for some themeable roms for my Galaxy II. I wish someone could edit the apk successfully.
Could you load a screenshot of your kik displaying an image as the background in the chat? I would like to see an example if possible..

I just saw this post, and decided although it may be a bit late, id comment anyway. a few of the recent "SpecialModded" kiks have backgrounds, although they are a bit older than what body care to use. if you can ignore this, then you have a themable kik with an image background, as long as you know what youre doing. for more info or access to this, pm me on kik @ XDAHelper.

And I haven't found a dark version without a bug so stick to the light. Hope this helps
