So I've been unable to find anything anywhere, but figured I'd ask here officially
(here's my progress so far: h ttp://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=117377")
I now quote myself for the intro:
So I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a Ti-83 (or just general one where I can input the 83's rom into) emulator for Android and haven't had any luck with it, as nice as some of the calculators are for it, I'm simply more familiar with the texas instrument layout....and in class I'll need to mimic the commands that my teacher(s) tells me to input.
Anyone know if this has or is being developed. My Touch Pro has one and I would wow everyone since no other mobile phone OS seems to have it, though I was hoping it was just deeply hidden somewhere for android.
Thanks for any help that you can offer!

The emulator I have now is piss poor, and only works with ti calc versions I'm not interested/familiar with.
So does anyone know if this is going to be ported or made for us??
This is really the only thing that my old Touch Pro has over my Hero (and a physical keyboard )
No one else has had any luck or interest in finding something like this??
how a about rpn?
how about crossing over to the darkside and try a rpn calculator? i just dled droid48 and it looks pretty good for a graphing calc emulator. might take a while to get use to rpn but its worth it.
cheers,
ryan

yes! kind of makes using a normal infix calc seem weird.
it does take some getting use to but it really is a much better better way of making calculations. look up the wiki on rpn (great info) and try out one of the simpler rpn apps in the market.
cheers,
ryan
I'll look it up, thanks for the tip!
The best calc I have on there now is handicalc, which is a bit bizarre to use (sort of reminds me of spacetime on WM)
It's out
Doug Melton has recently released a port of Marat Fayzullin's Almost TI emulator. Earlier today, TI requested that he change the name from TI-83, so it received an update and is now called Andy-83.
I love it. It works exactly like my old TI-83, but faster. Now I can leave my decade old TI-83 in my desk and only take it to exams, since I know they'd never let me use the one on my phone during an exam.

It is now called Andie Graph, and it'll run just fine, but you must supply the ROM files downloaded from your own calculator due to copyright reasons.

Second, I think I found the apk... the very one that's shown in the video. I have it on my phone, and it looks quite official. It is a lite version, though, probably the free version that will be released once the game goes up on the market. I don't know what it's compatible with, though. I have it running on my Evo, CM7 RC2.
EDIT: This is an UNofficial Chinese port of the game.
Enjoy!
EDIT: Played this for a while now... beat all except for one level. It seems to be pretty buggy. Taps are almost always registered as swipes, and multi-touch just doesn't work. Still, it should help stave off anyone's craving for some Cut The Rope
EDIT AGAIN: since I went and bumped this, I might as well update. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12656267&postcount=55 has an almost fully functional apk of this. Works very well, just turn off music.
Yey! Good news! Thanks.
that looks fun ha ha
that's not the real one. it's an unofficial port from an unofficial chinese market.

Based on the whole 3rd party markets and running naughty code thing I would not be installing this.
This has packages.. inside the .apk.. not touching it.
Wouldn't touch it. Giant alarm bells 1) packages inside the. Apk, and secondly, a port from chinese market. Sounds like anyone who loads that up is asking for trouble...

Packages, do you even know what you are talking about? Because if you mean the .lib files; then yes, how else do you suppose you would be able to run a direct iPhone port on your Android phone?...

General rule of thumb, an American will hack you just as well as a Chinese. And yet you all cry murder over a game ported over by Chinese developers? WOW...
I suggest you all look at the permissions this app requests and then head on over to http://developer.android.com/reference/android/Manifest.permission.html and read up on what each does.
android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE
android.permission.INTERNET
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
All pretty standard for a game that uses the Chinese equivalent of OpenFeint.
This apk has absolutely ZERO write access to any part of your phone. NONE.
You can now proceed to put your aluminum foil hats back on, peace.

This is most definitely not official. This is an unofficial port done by some Chinese developers. It's not even a very good port at that, since it's a direct port of the iPhone version. They didn't rewrite any of the code for the actual game.
Yeah, it's not official. But it's definitely NOT a virus. Had it on my phone for a while, nothing ever happened, and Lookout never detected anything.
have some kind a good news, i discovered if you turn off the music in the options (sound effect can still stand on if you want) the game works good without the glitchy controlls like taps that register as swipes
played it every level can be played with ful 3 stars and smooth on my phone
can they port other apps like taptap?
Vaya boricua.
at my X10a 2.1 not work
I liked the idea, but the game itself was good, but no multitouch and quiet short. But good job!
I have it working on my Droid x its awesome. But some apps that came with it don't work. Other than that the 3d ui looks great. Runs great. Is anyone else using this app? If so what do you think of it?
This has been labeled as warez in xda since it's a leaked beta. But I suppose people can talk about it as long they don't share the apk file..
I've played with it for a while but because I can't choose the default phone and browser app, I stopped playing with it. Also eats lots of ram.

Did you get the gallery app, weather page that comes with it to work?
Yeah i like the look of SPB more than Honeycomb. I hope its doesn't get bought by RIM like they did to TAT.
Its faster than ADW EX for me.

I really doubt that's going to happen. SPB is a big company from what I understand (google them).
---
Anyways, I did try it out, but had to remove it since I kept getting unending "Activating..." and reloading.
But my impressions while I did use it were:
3D look very cool. But not especially useful.
Instant tap and click widgets very useful and great idea.
Lack of app drawer is undesirable.
It has some cool stuff, but isn't anything "groundbreaking" imo. SPB charged consumers about $30 for this on WM and Symbian I believe, doing the same on Android would be quite insane (considering it doesn't add any huge benefits like it did for those OS). I'm curious to see what they plan to charge, and it's something I could consider using as my default launcher... but nothing truly fantastic about it imo.
I used SPB at great lengths with my Windows phones. It was a resource hog, but it still ran smooth and looked awesome.
Didn't know they were actually working on Android...cool
Yep says its not compatible with my device.
works with the epic unfortunately.....

Does it say spb loading overtop of that?
It takes forever to load on my Samsung I9000, but works well once it does. Amazingly smooth and the widgets look great. Could take some getting used to though!
Hey there
listen! I really like honeycomb an I hate iOS but the iOS apps are so beautiful and the honeycomb apps are kind of lame!
Is there an app for honeycomb like the "bamboo paper" app for ipad?
(google it!)
and what note taking (handwriting) are you using?
I haven't heard of anything, so I am interested myself. I just bought a stylus and am looking to use it in something other than Sketchbook Pro. But as far as that goes it is a nice app, you may be able to use it for note taking.
steel looking for an app! sketchbook pro is good for the sketching, doodling, painting and basically art and stuff!
i need a note taking app !
TabNotes looks and works quite good.
i just searched "handwriting" in the market and tried out three different apps similar to bamboo paper. They all seem to work pretty well.
The three I tried:
Genial Writing
Handrite
MyLetter
I have tried the Touchwiz on my TF.
And there is a tool that can let you take notes by either handwriting or using keyboard.
Also, the tool is movable like the windows at PC.
You can call that tool whenever and wherever by not affecting your current app.
That's really cool.
I hope the TouchWiz UI for TF would be updated soon.
its working good? i think i might put touchwiz on my tf too!
is it stable?
I like tabnotes the best, and in second place i put makenotes. i have also tried genial and handrite but the above two are much better imo.
been using genial, tab notes, maple paint, and love them all. Just started using free note and am really enjoying it the best.
Try free note.

MakeNotes is by far the best I've used. It's clean and simple, but does everything I would want (other than letting me enter text with the keyboard). It even gives you a spot to rest your palm while writing. Definitely what I've been waiting for.

wow! just found the best app on the planet!
thank you so much!
Well, MakeNotes is pretty good, but is still a work in progress. The palm pad area is an amazing concept. However, making the notes portable / convertible to PDF will be even more awesome. Also, scrolling is non existent(Or it may be that I am dumb and I dont know how to). TabNotes is the best note taking app rite now. Simple, yet powerful.
There is an App called Whiteboard, but it force closes constantly atleast for me. So, wouldnt recommend it.
So I've actually had this in the market for a few months now but never actually posted here. This was one of the first apps I created and it just sort of grew and got an assortment of features. So if anyone wants to give it a go here is the market link:

If anyone finds this app too complex, do try my other app I've developed to address this issue. It has nearly all the same features though very easy to use. Here is the xda link:

Was the first app I bought for my new Galaxy SII. Crazy amount of features.
+1 for sync! PLEEEEEEASE!!!!
Edit: Nevermind.
Love this POWERFUL app. But love to have the following changes in the upcoming version.
1. Memorize the settings selection in Extra. E.g. "from" and "to" language for Google Translate, Currency converter.
2. Sorted list for Currency. (e.g. ANG > BHD > VEF ...etc). It's quite hard to find the currency I am looking for the current implementation.
Just downloaded it, very nice app, seems to have LOADS of functionality.
Thank you very much
Glad you guys like it. Yes still lots of work to do with it
Just downloaded this. looks awesome, will be testing it today
I have been searching around for something like this but the best I could find is this archaic abandoned app called beatmaker but I can't link to it. I know it exists in the Google Code database. It's not a bad start though I'm looking for an app like that but hopefully with some more advanced features like what's found a device such as the Boss Dr. Sample. (I can't link to show what I'm talking about, just look up the SP-202, I still own one of those.). I'd be very willing to beta test this and I am now producing music on my MotoXoom using Caustic 2 and would like to have something more interactive to use than just the sequencer in Caustic. I would be using my Samsung GTab with ICS on it (AOKP CM9 build7) as my primary test device.

Have you tried "Su-preme MPA"?, it's more like an AKAI sampler but might be what you're looking for. I agree my app is not meant for this kind of live performance.

Yeah, what I'm looking for is something that is directly interactive with the samples. I'm giving SU-preme MPA Lite a try. The price for the full version seems kind of steep but I don't even know if it's worth it for me. Thanks for the app suggestion.
P.S. HEY! I'm a huge fan of Caustic! Been working with with it for over a week now trying to work on new material since I got my MotoXoom. And I'm far from saying your app is not meant for live performance. I truly believe I can use it when I get to the live performance aspect of my music. It'd be a great sequencer for songs. I hope to see you improve upon it, especially with tempo changes.
