[ROM] eViL De-SiRe Barebone A2SD v2.01 & Kernels [6/4/10] - Desire Android Development

First off, thanks to the team the fixed the USB bricks, Kubino99 et al.
Big thanks to Paul from Modaco for root and A2SD.
YOU MUST FIRST HAVE ROOT! FOLLOW THIS GUIDE TO GET SETUP.
CURRENT RECOVERY DOES NOT FORMAT DALVIK CACHE, IT IS BROKEN! USE LINUX OR PARTITION THE MEMORY CARD VIA RECOVERY!
To Flash via Linux, you will need to boot to Linux to get to Recovery
Code:
Root Method 1
1. Your device should now be off. Unplug the device from your computer.
2. Turn it on again while holding down the 'volume down' button this time. The screen will look similar to before, but will say 'HBOOT' instead of 'FASTBOOT'.
3. Use the volume buttons and the power button to select the 'RECOVERY' option. You should then see a screen with a red triangle - at this point, plug it into your Linux or OSX computer.
4. From 'push files' zip that you downloaded you'll see a file called 'recovery-linux.sh' or 'recovery-mac.sh'. Run the one appropriate to your operating system and the screen of your device should change to display the green recovery image menu.
5. In the recovery image (moving around using the optical trackball), select 'Wipe -> Wipe data /factory reset', wipe cache, wipe dalvik.
6. Then 'Flash zip from sdcard' and choose the rooted update. Confirm with the trackball and the update process will begin. It'll take a little while, so go make a nice cup of tea.
When the flash has finished, reboot, and you are DONE!
Code:
Root Method 2
1- copy the ROM .zip to your SD card
2- boot off Paul's .iso, perform the first steps in the tutorial, without connecting the phone; skip 'sudo ./step1.sh'
3- put phone in Recovery mode as indicated in the tutorial, and connect it to your machine
4- run 'sudo ./step2.sh', wait until you get the green screen with the recovery options on the phone
5- wipe data/cache/dalvik cache
6- install the .zip you copied earlier (leave rootedupdate.zip alone)
7- once flashing is complete, reboot the phone and... you're all set
Thanks cezarL
To get to Recovery via Windows, download and extract this to your adb/tools folder. You will use the recovery-windows.bat in the pushfiles folder for your step 4.(thanks to nilezon via afiorillo)
I also recommend wiping cache & Dalvik cache before flashing. CURRENTLY DALVIK CACHE CANNOT BE CLEARED IN RECOVERY. Use Linux or Repartition in Recovery!
To configure A2SD (thanks to afiorillo)
Code:
While in Recovery, using the optical trackpad, now select "Partition sdcard" -> "Partition SD" and issue a SWAP=0, EXT2=512, FAT32=<remaining> partition command (read carefully the instructions provided on-screen by the procedure, you'll have to use the volume keys too, here).
Find and issue the "SD:ext2 to ext3" command.
Go back to the Recovery Console main menu and select "Reboot system now". While rebooting, unplug the Desire from the USB port.
*Note that this will format your whole SD card. Make a backup before doing this if you need.
*All builds include stuffs from previous builds unless noted in the change log.

Removed HTC Worldclock
Added Eclair Deskclock - able to dismiss alarm
ADW launcher Themed Froyo-like - thx @bakageta
v1.2 A2SD Bare - A2SD Recommended
A2sd will split to sdcard & data unless you don't use a2sd, which will only go to data. (however, there is only 100mb of free space) *working on that

v1.1 A2SD Split - Full Build
Alternate a2sd method - Dalvik will be stored in data/dalvik-cache (your internal memory will decrease as apps are installed, but some apps should open faster) and app data goes to SD. 140MB+ free space on Data after first boot.
Build is odexed, more space on Data (deodexed builds creates dex files in data/dalvik-cache, so you get less space on data)
Removed wired tether
Zipalign on boot
Added back HTC Weather
v1.1 D2C Bare - Dalvik to Cache
Experimental. THIS IS NOT AN APPS TO SD BUILD. Almost the same build as 1.0 except for the following changes.
Dalvik is moved to Cache instead of Data partition. Cache available is around 38MB. It may not seem like much, but I have around 42 apps installed and 14mb free in cache. Large apps will obviously eat up space faster. Also, you CAN boot w/o an SD card and access apps while disk is mounted.
Build is odexed, more space on Data (deodexed builds creates dex files in data/dalvik-cache, so you get less space on data)
Removed wired tether
Zipalign on boot
v1.0 A2SD Full - Official Release (Wipe REQUIRED!)
Alternate a2sd method - Dalvik will be stored in data/dalvik-cache (you will see less internal memory, but some apps should open faster) and app data goes to SD.

Awesome that you are modding Desire roms! Have been following you on the Liquid scene and your roms rock

Very nice, is it possible to remove more sense apps?
Thanks for the first custom rom for desire

Please include apps2sd

Can you take out HTC sense from the ROm. I'd like to try vanilla Eclair

Paul will release cyanogenmod 5.0.6 today for the desire

Why not just turn it off then? I know this was possible on the Hero... to be fair, I've not check on the Desire.
If there is one or two of the removed apps that we actually want, where can the apk's be found?

Awesome work)
We here in Russia are interested, which languages are present in this ROM?
And also +1 for A2SD

Nice, first custom ROM for the Desire I saw Congrats!

Yeah i installed this ROM after i'd done Paul's one, and all i'm getting is
"The application HTC Sense (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Everytime i retry i just get back through the same loop!

I could do without friendstream and footprints too.. (as stripped/lite as possible)
Do you have a screenshot of your "Transparent black notification tray"
Also: have you given any thoughts to a "wake screen with middle button" mod, and perhaps a silent switch on lockscreen?
Regards

I like to have the nexus dia-er (or even better, the moddded dialer by wysie) and the nexus mms.apk. I tried to push them but ended up in a bootloop
Any help would be great

As I said before, give us an option to put these back in though, I use Friend Stream for example.

keeping htc widgets would also be nice

yep i wiped and cleared data using the recovery menu before i then installed the zip.

[Release] Stock FRG01 Deodexed + Extras

What is it? FRG01B, Deodexed, Rooted, Busybox, Stock Kernel + Extras
(Special thanks to Cellzealot for the leak!)
Where’d it come from? My Droid World
Why? I like clean and simple roms. This rom should be a great base to build on, theme or just run as an everyday rom. Going forward, any themes and kernels made for FRG01B or compatible with FRG01B will work for this rom. (You may run into trouble with the Mms.apk since I pulled it from CM, see FRG01B – Stock - Deodexed, no apk mods at all)
FRG01B Deodexed - Market Fixed - Update.zip
This is what I set out to do originally, for people that want an untouched, deodexed rom with a working market and a good version of busybox. I didn’t change anything else.
metiCkModV4.2 - Update.zip - Yay!! - If you are upgrading from a previous version of metiCkMod then you don't need to wipe
- Added Chrometophone app
- Added build name & base under About phone
- Added Wifi scan tweak to save battery life
- Removed weather channel logos from news & weather widget
See full list of tweaks and mods below…
What I did…
System Stuff:
- Fixed the market sync problem (All apps show up in market as 2.1-update-1)
- Installed busybox V. 1.16.2
- Stock kernel – Defaults to 600mhz but can be overclocked to 800mhz, also allows for wired & wireless
- Added notifications & ringtones from N1, DX and the Droid of course
- Removed unnecessary scripts from xbin
- Added wifi scan tweak to save battery life
- Added build name & base under About phone
- Removed weather channel logos from news & weather widget
App Stuff:
All the traditional apps are all included. I only removed Google Goggles and the VM stub
- Added Chrometophone app V1.1 (Credit to Google)
- Removed weather channel logos from news & weather widget
- Modded launcher (removed 60+ jpgs and added new ones)
- Download Crutch Lite (allows the download of any file type) (Kanged the idea from Team Chaos)
- File Manager (from the motoroi system dump, allows you to manage files on the sdcard) (Kanged the idea from Team Chaos)
- Updated Messaging App (Credit to Cyanogenmod) (includes tons of options including black background and different led colors)
- Rom Manager (Thanks Koush!) (Rom Manager Premium!)
- Wired Tether (Project Site)
- Wireless Tether (Project Site)
Recommended apps:
Flash Player (Beta 3)
Froyo Add-ons (Chrome to Phone V1.1 & Flash Beta 3)
SetCPU (Available on market or XDA)
HTC_IME (awesome keyboards)
As you can see I didn’t do much, but if you want a really clean stock 2.2 rom with the latest stuff, then this is what you want.
Clockworkmod Instructions: Place file anywhere on your sdcard, boot into recovery, select install zip from sdcard, choose zip from sdcard, and select the appropriate zip file.
SPRecovery Instructions: Rename file to update.zip, place on the root of your sdcard (meaning not in a folder on your sdcard), boot into recovery
Wipe or not? It is my recommendation that everyone wipes data & cache no matter what build they are coming from. Also, you should only use titanium to re-install apps without the data. It kinda sucks to re-enter all your info, accounts and bookmarks (especially with all these leaks) but in the end, if you run into problems you won't wonder if it’s because you didn't wipe data/cache.
For those of you that want to push and pull files to the droid. I did not edit the boot.img so before you type adb remount in adb you need to type adb root, wait for it to connect and run as root, then you can hit adb remount.
Do I have to wipe my phone? Or can I leave it and just download it?
How can I download this ROM?
Sorry guys, I didn't know XDA had an approval process. I haven't posted here before so I cant put links up. You can grab the downloads from Droid forums in the droid hacks section or google frg01 extras. The first link should be it. Sorry again about the lack of links. I will see if I can get an admin to let me post them.
I love it! It is a beest combined with things like black notification bar and Spare Tools. HTC IME download here doesn't work but getting it from another source creates beestly ROM! Thank you!

You're welcome! I'm glad you like it. I'll try and update this thread as soon as I can. In the mean time you guys can follow the rom's progress at droid forums.

NEW!! - metiCkMod - Blackbar - Update.zip
- metiCkModV4.3 with Black notification panel (based on the Pl3x rom version)
- Completely based off of FRG01B
NEW!! - metiCkMod - Dark Glass - Update.zip - This is a FULL rom with a modified Smoked Glass theme port. As most of you know, I didn't create the original theme, that would be Adamz. All credit for the theme goes to him. he obviously worked really hard on it when he compiled it. This rom has a metiCkModV4.3 base, a blackbar notification panel and smoked glass widgets. I purposely didn't port the blue color scheme and the htc sense icons. I like the vanilla android base much better. There may be some things I need to theme that I didn't get to yet. If you see anything let me know. Questions, concerns, feedback? Post it up in this thread. Enjoy and thank you Adamz for your excellent work! If I get enough request I will port the whole theme for people to enjoy.

No problem, you'll be able to post link in another few posts if i am not mistaken, but i figured this would help people in a bit of a hurry, or lazy people lol.
Hey, is there an update that will stop the bootloops? I had to restore to when I first installed this. I also lost my 3G connection. Please fix ASAP!

[ROM] VaelPak 2.3 [10/29/10] - NonSense - [HTC B149#11][FPSU] - 3.30.651.2 OTA

I created this ROM because there are none available that have everything I want. It has treated me well so far and seems to have some features that others have asked for so I am sharing it with anyone who might want it. To the best of my knowledge, it is the most senseless ROM there is currently available without going to AOSP, and offers a unique mixture of Sense and AOSP.

Packaged with OTA HTC Build 149#10 kernel

A wipe shouldn't be needed if updating from 1.1. I would though recommend removing vaelpak-extras from the sdcard before flashing this.

Thanks, I'll try this out tomorrow. With so many roms coming out in the past day or two, this is the only one that has caught my interest.
It seems to work good it just my 4G is acting up. Don't know if it is me or the ROM
This is a pretty fast rom. I'm liking it. but why is the sync notification on all of the time, even though i turned synching off?
Looks great!
Thanks for putting this up.

Make sure you fill in your Google account information when it runs through the setup wizard on FIRST boot. If you don't do that, and put it in later, the sync notification seems to do this. I've run into it on many roms.

I can make another version with it included. Just the dialer or Contacts as well? Both are attached here from AOSP if you wish to replace them yourself. You will need something like Root Explorer to make /system RW and replace the files in /system/app or use the following commands
adb remount rw
adb push Phone.apk /system/app
adb push Contacts.apk /system/app
adb reboot
If this is a common want, how far do you guys want me to take it? There is also Gallery3d and a few other AOSP apps that I can drop in here.

[ROM]SparksMod-1.1.2 Apps2Ext+LauncherPro - Dream/Sapphire[32b] (09/12/10)

Update: There seems to be a popular slang term "cook" going around on this thread as well as pm's. If you are having a issue because you didn't read the OP, I will not take the problem seriously. All I will tell you is wipe and reflash! Call me whatever you will, but I DO NOT USE KITCHENS. Things I do use:
1. My brain
2. My computer
3. Autosign script
4. XDA obviously
That's it!
New things added and removed, check the changelog below. If you have a g1, please rate and comment on my g1 thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7656698#post7656698. This way I know what devices are having issues. So far no major issues have been reported, and I would like to keep it that way.
After flashin the rom and gapps, Set your phone up the way you want it. If you want to use Compcache instead of swapper2, then select "deny" when prompted from superuser. Also if you want to remove Swapper2 completely with adb:
adb devices
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app
rm Swapper2.apk
It should be gone instantly. This app is only 82.4kb large in size, so if you think you are going to be saving a lot of space on your phone, then you will be dissapointed. If you just can't stand it being in your app drawer you can also remove apps with titanium backup for free on the market, or Astro file manager (also free on the market).
If you want Swap instead of compache, you will need to select "allow" when prompted. You will need to disable Compcache in CM Settings and reboot.
Once you boot up open the swapper2 app and set it up the way you want. I have mine set to 32mb for the size, and 20 swappiness for my swap file, but I may go back to using compcache. Also select safe unmount for mounting sdcard so that your swap is safely unmounted before your sdcard mounts. Once you unmount your sdcard, you can go to swapper and select the on button to enable it again.
Then go to CM Settings > application settings, and select "Allow application moving". Don't change the install location. That's it, now your all ready to install as many apps as you want to your ext partition. It seems that people are having good luck with flashing from v1.1.1-v1.1.2 with no wipe at all. This is a good sign that my no wipe options is working for now, we will see with future updates, but I'm confident that no wipe should be necessary at all from here on out.
You will need to flash the new gapps 20100912 If you want things like chrome2phone. You also need to install the chrome to phone extension on your chrome browser here: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/oadboiipflhobonjjffjbfekfjcgkhco
Thank you Cyanogenmod, Firerat, ChromerSmith, Dumfuq, and anyone else I'm forgetting for making this all possible. If you like our work, buy us a beer.
Requirements: This rom supports G1/Dream/Magic/Sapphire [32b] devices only. You need the Danger SPL. If you want apps2ext partition then you need a ext3 or ext4 partition on your sdcard. I am not responsible for broken phones or sdcards!
Changelog
1.1.2
-Removed ADW and added LauncherPro, seems to run better!
-Added Chrome2Phone to gapps (You must download the new gapps if you want this)
-Added Swapper2 to rom for people who want swap instead of compcache.
-Added CMTheme folder, and LauncherPro Backup folder. If you wish to use these, you must extract the zip files to the root of your sdcard. Go to restore theme in CM Settings > User Interface > Tweaks extras, and then select a theme. There will be a option for SparksMod theme, select this and it will change the colors to white. For LauncherPro just restore settings in the settings for LauncherPro.

- Added new firstboot.sh method for apps2ext partition. Install as many apps as you want after first boot and never have to reboot or use any terminal commands to move apps!

-New gapps not themed, speed seems to be better
-Added black keyboard back
-Removed Wallpapers, Cyan has some really nice new ones I thought I would use for awhile
ADW v1.3.4 is included
v1.0 Stablish, built on top of the 08/25/10 nightly build:
ADW v1.1.3 is now included in the nightly builds
-Redid the theme again. The theme is final this time, with a lot more icons in the app drawer, and newly added liquid battery icons. I optimized all the icons for better performance and speed with the help of Lithid.
-Removed unnecessary themed stuff that could of been slowing the rom down, like the black keyboard and a few other things
AMS v0.3.3
-Added Chromersmith's Script kanged
AMS v0.3.2 Built on nightly build 08/22/10
ADW Launcher v1.1.1!
-Added Wireless tethering
-Fixed black background on launcher from previous version
-Added gapps to rom so as not to have to flash separately anymore!
-Changed the whole theme!: Changed battery icon to blue with 6 lines and turns red when battery is low. Also changed all app drawer icons to a black darker theme and removed settings menu icons. Changed half the wallpapers again lol. Let me know what you think of them.
-Removed some ringtones and added about 5 of my own, hope you like them.
-Added firerat's patch to rom so as not to have to download and place on sdcard anymore. see instructions below.
AMS v0.3.1 Built of off the latest nightly build 08/19/10
-Optimized all wallpapers
-Stuff added: New Ubuntu Launcher icon, all stock ringtones are back
AMS v0.3 Completely overhauled from RC3
-Stuff added: Everything except for the launcher: Boot animation, all wallpapers, theme. Themed gapps (quick search web box, and genie widget)
-Stuff removed to save more system memory: Google voice (available on the market for download onto external storage), and a lot of ringtones.
v0.2.1
-removed blurred vision 2 boot animation (just wasn't running well), and replaced with droid (boots much better)
-Added Black Keyboard
v0.1 from latest nightly 081310:
-Removed Rom Manager to save on space, download it from the market
-Added HTC ADWLauncher
-Added VatSense 1.6.1 Framework
-Added 15 wallpapers
-Added Blurred Vision 2 boot animation
I am open to feedback on any changes or ideas anyone has for future improvements.
Instructions:
Full wipe required if coming from anything other than SparksMod-1.1.1 I can not guarantee that the no wipe thing will stick. These roms are changing constantly since they are still in the development stage, or at least until Cyanogenmod is completed with cm6 development for the dream/sapphire.
Apps2ext partition is now automatic. Make sure after first boot, go to CM Settings > application settings, and select "Allow application moving". Don't select a different install location. That's it, feel free to install as many apps as you want worry free from reboots to move apps, slow boot times, or running terminal commands to move the apps to ext when you get low on space.
You will need to change the clock color and date color as with any blackbar mod in CM Settings, or use the xml folder from my downloads folder. Extract the contents of the zip file to the root of your sdcard, then restore theme as usual in CM Settings.
LauncherPro Settings: Instead of listing my current settings, feel free to download and use the LauncherPro backup settings from my downloads folder. Extract the contents of the zip file to the root of your sdcard, then restore settings in LauncherPro.
I recommend downloading or installing SetCpu so you can control the speeds if you are using the overclock kernel to see what works good for you as far as battery life and speed combined. I set mine at 596mhz and it's still fast without too much battery drain.
-Spare Parts settings: Set transitions windows and animations to fast
-Set CM Settings > Performance to "disable surface dithering", "lock home in memory", enable "JIT".

My father just installed this on his phone and is very happy with it. THANKS!
Ok. Been using this Rom for a couple days. So far everything is smooth and fast. Did a no wipe upgrade to the oc'd version second day. Had one time that a reboot deleted my apps and one force close when I went to settings>sound (settings force close). May have to do with no wipe upgrade? Battery drain is normal for froyo. That's it so far.
Going to nandroid back to standard version since I will never go over 576 anyway.
Everything is super fast and responsive. Very stable so far. Best screen rotation time on froyo. Liking the launcher pro as well. Thank you for the cm ui and LP settings zips btw.
Mt3g. No swap. CC enabled. Set CPU at 245/576. Everything else set up normal.
Great job. Keep it coming. Thanks for your hard work.

If I'm right if you have the new launcher.apk in your sdcard then after you do this you can copy the new one to its spot from your sdcard.
cp /sdcard/appname.apk /system/app (enter)
reboot (enter)
Let it reboot and you should have the old removed and replaced with the new.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

[ROM][CWM][KD1] GingerClone v2 (AospMod) Update2 + TMW v3.0 ROM/Theme [9.2.11] - PDT

This here is a fast, slim, and VERY stable Froyo 2.2.1 ROM Based on the KD1 firmware for the Sidekick 4G. This was built with the idea of making the Samsung software functional with as little Touchwiz as possible, knowing how much samsungs overlay on android can bog the phone down and this ROM is proof of it. I've taken a lot out and themed what was left.
With that being said, most touchwiz/Samsung specific crap is removed. This is an AOSP clone so there is extremely minimal bloat and any unnecessary apps you don't expect to find in an aosp ROM most likely isn't in here.

ROM/Theme:TouchMIUIwizPDT-v3.0 [AospMod]
Download:TouchMIUIwizPDT-v3.0 [AospMod].zip (129.37 MB)
What is TouchMIUIwiz v3.0 [AospMod] ?
its Exactly the Same ROM as the GCv2 AospMod, without the gingerbread theming. ALL theming from framework to icons are TouchMIUIwiz v3.0 but has same apps from GCv2 AospMod, not more, not less. The Boot animation is a Normal M Logo, and the shutdown is the same as TouchMIUIwiz v3.0. This would be for anyone who likes the lightness and feel of gingerclone v2 and want the look of TouchMIUIwiz. They have the same tweaks and all apps are up to date. All lastest updates are included as well. Anything left if themed like TouchMIUIwiz v3.0. Also, its a ROM not a flashable theme.

Install Instructions
Instructions - NOTHING NEW, if you know the drill then go ahead and install.
- Put zip file in your /sdcard
- Reboot into cwm recovery
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache Partition
(Optional but recommended to prevent any minor issues)-Wipe Dalvik Cache from advanced menu in CWM
*Now before you Flash, Only if you are on the orange CWM, (Not RED voodoo CWM from Bali) if on red CWM ignore the mounts/unmount part*
MAKE SURE YOUR MOUNTS LOOK LIKE THIS: (Go to mounts and storage from CWM recovery)
UNMOUNT CACHE
MOUNT DATA
MOUNT SDCARD
UNMOUNT SYSTEM - this is the ONLY mount you pay mind to, not Sdcard or anything else
Click to collapse
- Now its safe to Flash the .zip
(AGAIN IGNORE UNLESS IF YOU ARE ON A RED VOODOO RECOVERY) after you flash, go back to mounts and storage and make sure your mounts look like this
UNMOUNT CACHE
MOUNT DATA
UNMOUNT SDCARD
UNMOUNT SYSTEM
(Optional but recommended)-Wipe Cache then Wipe Dalvik Cache from advanced menu in CWM before Rebooting.
(To First Time installers, System Needs to be set to Unmount, though it would really be mounted. If you do Not do this you will have a softbrick and will have to ODIN to stock and start all over ....) Once you have Flashed a Custom ROM or Bali 2.2 Kernel you dont have to worry about mounts

i reccomend trying it out i haven't noticed any bugs yet.

That's odd. With this ROM I haven't gotten too much below 1600, I get 1700+ average on quadrant but I get 2100+ when overiclocked at 1.152 Ghz
When you flashed the ROM did your lagfix enable ?

My bad, I was using the global variant of quadrant. With the standard edition I get about 17xx. *Edit* Solid 2000 when OC'd to 1.2GHz. */Edit*

very nice looking ROM. I use a G2X and love it. My wife has the sidekick and I have been "fixing" it for her......thanks for this one.

yeah, running smooth and fast, and no bugs here either. i was wondering if there was a way to get one of your black Google Search bars in this ROM? i have tried pasting them in from your previous ROMs, but nothing seems to work.... not a big deal, just wonderin'.
thanks as always for the great work. i like the Gingerbread messaging app, just like CM7, lol.

To update to a newer version you dont need to wipe anything, it will all be done automatically. Wiping dalvic cache is recommended. No fixing permissions or any other thing is necessary.
3. Instructions, please read carefully
IMPORTANT: you need recovery by yannou90 with ext support to use this rom, please follow step 3 from this tutorial (or 1 to 3 if you have not rooted your phone yet).
(not needed from version 2.3.1) To move your Dalvic cache open "A2SDGUI" app and press "move" in the dalvic tab. Free up +60mb!
use "Titanium backup" to move data to sd card ext partition, choose apps you want to move their data, long press on them and select "move app data to sd". Both data and lib files will move. You can also select batch option to move several applications data at the same time. select a single app first so data folder is created.Check what apps are using the data with "DiskUsage" browsing /data
Install the .zip in the recovery menu (install zip to sd option) once you unlocked your bootloader and flashed your recovery. Tutorial by me here.
First time installing this rom? Take a look at the first time user detailed tutorial by mahmudaq(thankyou dude )
Do a factory reset after making backup of your apps (with titanium backup... etc.) if you have a different rom (stock...).
Apps will install automatically to your SD partition. Partition your sd card before (before flashing recommended) to Ext2,3,4 (not fat32) format using programs like Minitool partition wizzard, or using recovery option (no swap needed). Around 500mb-1Gb partition would be fine to start with (depends of how many apps installed). (don't make it greater than 2gb). If you use "Minitool partition wizard" remember to leave the first fat32 partition at the left and then a primary Ext2/3/4 partition.

To check used/free memory on SD partition browse /system/sd with "DiskUsage". Internal memory in /data

NOTE: If you want to be able to make a full nandroid backup, including your ext partition, you need the custom recovery made by "yannou90". I updated the recovery (on february 21st) on my rooting tutorial, just download it and flash it.

4. FAQ Never post a question before reading.
Q Phone freezes and reboots randomnly. I have installed the rom following the correct procedures. Whats going on?
A Some phones have problems with the overclocked kernel provided with this rom, the best alternative is cranium kernel by sakinda123. Follow this link to flash it.
Q After installing many apps one or a few have stopped working, force closing. Phone reboots when updating apps. Rebooting phone doesnt solve the probem.
A Some people reported this problem, fix it by going to APP2SDGUI and pressing "rebuild" ig you are experiencing force close of apps. If the phone shows a black screen when trying to install an app and shows the bootanimation for a short time, do a normal restart to fix it.
Q Apps still install on the instarnal memory, I have to move them manually using link2sd or simillar.
A Apps will appear to your system that they are on the internal memory but they are NOT, they are just linked to it. To check the memory go to /system/sd with "DiskUsage" for the sd partition and internal memory in /data. select [root required] to be able to select them in the application.
Q I want to modify battery mod, add scrolling glow or make other customization to them rom, how can I do it? Could you upload it?
A As every person has different likes about customizations of icons and colours, If you want to customize your rom visit http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
upload the required system files from the zip and after downloading the modified ones swap them and install the rom normally.
Q I just installed the rom and every time i try to install an app,the screen goes blank and I get the startup animation...this happens even after I restarted my cell twice...any help?
A Go to A2SDGUI and rebuild dalvic cache. If this doesnt work remember you had to use the recovery from rooting tutorial here, step 3. NOT the recovery installed from "Rom manager" and make factory reset with it before installing the rom.

i've check another rom "[ROM] HTC PICO (a310e, explorer), Customised EU verzion" and the problem is same. no other language
Nice work
But gotta wait until there´s more languages
Or maybe I´ll learn how to insert languages, when there´s some free time...
But Thanks anyway for the work!
it´s cool to have ppl developing for Htc explorer, since it isn´t very known..
You always need link2sd, because linking apps to sd is different of moving them to sd..
Linking is always better because just create a image of the app in a micro sd partition and only a few kb go to ROM
I want to add vietnamese language, who can help me? or the tutorial?

Check differences by yourselves, link2sd won't link systems dalvic-cache that takes around 60mb (talking about the clean version, stock should be worse)
Deodexed roms just need to create big chunks of dalvic from systems apps, that's the thing..
If someone knows a better way just feel free to comment.
