Easiest way to reload/reset HTC Sense? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi,
I don't know why but HTC Sense seems to always crash. When it does, the screen goes black except for the task bar and soft keys and I usually have to press the windows button to get out of it. Is there a simple way to reload/reset HTC Sense? I think that would solve the problem.

there is a simple exe file floating around that serves the purpose, it is called restart manila, try search

Both do not yield a restart manila exe file.

How to create a shortcut to today screen

Hi,
does anyone have an idea how to create a shortcut to the today screen?
i believe it's in a dll or some other hidden windows file, yet i can't seem to find it (and couldn't find it in windows documentation).
I read about some today.exe which was created for this purpose, but couldn't find the file
Anyone smart enough to solve my problem?
Greetz
Just curious, from where do you want to create a shortcut to the today screen?
From iFonz, so i can switch to default today screen fast and easy
just double-press "Windows" button

doesn't work, it just pops back to iFonz
even when i select the today screen link from the start menu
Try Resco Explorer.

Task manager

I have bought my HTC HD2 and i cant activate the task manager on the main screen....any help ? idea ?
Yeah pin the Task Manager to the quick links.
HTC Task Manager is disabled on HD2 probably because it slows Sense down

HTC Task
Tried the latest I found (HTC Tachi TaskManager 2.1.37655.1.cab),
but it does not work for me...
Simply everything I try does not work
Have You tried to pin the standard windows task manager to, for example, the answer call hardware key? I've done that in my TD2. You should be able to do this via phone settings->buttons or something (haven't seen wm6.5 yet)
try installing Duttys Task Manager 2.1.19183631
well, about this, anyone knows any taskbar manager that can use in every program to change from one to other without going to the main screen and then change?
Like the taskbar manager but on all screens, main and programs.
I really hate that "feature" of need to go to the main to select other program.

I'll have to agree with you there. It sounds strange that the multi tasking isn't build more, well, multi tasking in mind.
I'm probably getting this device next week and would be really interested to know if there's any way to do this faster, like bringing the task manager up with one press of key etc (like I asked in another topic too).
Edit... And got a reply too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4901571#post4901571

Didnt work for me.
This works:
- Go the file explorer
- Open "My Device/Windows"
- Find Task manager (taskmgr) and press long on this file so the file menu opens and select copy.
- Go to "My Device/Windows/Startmenu/Programs.
- Go to menu and paste shortcut.
- Now you can also add the shortcut to your today screen.

Wow, that is brilliant indeed.
Had no idea that particular task manager was even there or existed.
Nice find.

Thanks for the tip, and I tried doing that both before and yet again, but it's a no go.
It still doesn't play nice with certain builds. You can sort of make out the task manager icon in the upper right hand corner, but you can't click on it.
The solution posted above by rob_van_triet though works perfectly for now.
Working but Icon ?
Ok placing a shortcut of taskmgr in the start menu folder works fine.
But if you use this as a tab on the start screen it looks all blury.
Some help please ?
Do you know where is the setting for the task manager so that I could change "tapping X in the upper right corner" to "close the app" and not to "minimize it".
It seems that the whole Touch Flo settings has disappeared.
edit: just read the other thread about the task manager and it answered my question.

Clock issues after upgradading WinMo 6.5

Hi guys!
I noticed that the clock (Manila 2.5) has some problems, for instances, after tapping the Quick Menu button or after tapping the home button, seems like the clocks delays and then returns to the actual hour.
Do you have the same problem, do you know how to solve it?
Thanks a lot!
That's not a problem, its a "feature" implemented by HTC to show off their flippy clock
MaxTTM has the ability to do this. It's available on the home layouts under "Flip No Anim"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493011
Thank you very much! Will test it!!
OK, and how can I do the correction of this mistake? Because for me it's mistake, not "feature".
To get rid of flip animation, just unzip and copy this file to your Windows directory.

Im sorry but it doesnt work for me unzipped it in Windows and made read-only but still the problem.
Please look at my picture for device
EDIT
Searched some more and found this cab working for me
You should have just tried using total commander or such, as the built in file explorer will not work for this.

All u need is get a free registry editor application. I recommend PHM Regedit. You can search for it on google.
Using the app, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and the path I mentioned before. Delete the 2 registry above. Try it, not as hard as it sounds.

customize toucflo

Hello, i want to customize my touchflo, i used SPB shell 3.5 but its bugged, and didnt work the SMS/Email button so i back to toucflo. My ask is: is there any program to change my toucflow bar? for example i use opera 10, and the toucflow open opera 9...
and i want to take some special icon... tcmp etc..
thanks a lot
First install M2DC. With this app you can change the default browser. After that install "I C Thru U". This one let's you make "transparent" the operator, taskbar, bottom bar, etc. at your choice.
All these apps can be found here in XDA and I know there are some more but I don't remember.
Always make a backup before doing any change to your device (I use SPB Backup).
Hope this help
EDIT: Forgot! With shortcut manager you can edit (i.e change the icon) any shorcut in your device and make new ones.

Another thing about M2DC is you can edit the today buttons under the scroll/sidebar, I've put in the left button a link to G-Alarm and in the right button a link to the file explorer. This can be done in the "Softkeys" tab, just browse the app you want link and name it or just left it that way.
