i found a working nexus one launcher for vanilla 1.5 roms. and it works! just unzip and push the launcher.apk with adb or fresh's kitchen to system/app.
enjoy!
i didn't make this, i just Googled and found it, im happy since i don't run 2.1 yet and we all know helix doesn't work for any 1.5 rom. this is tested on pancake 1.5 and should work for any other 1.5 rom as well.
There was already a nexus launcher in the sticky thread.

WHY
are you running 1.5?
Why
is it any of your concern?
2.0 still isn't 100% and many out there just haven't taken the plunge yet.
Thanks for the find smoother, I'm definitely going to use it if I end up having to flash back to 1.5.

simple really...speed, stability and everything works with no issues. when the final 2.1 comes out and we don't have pri, audio and apps2sd issues ill install 2.1. .... and no im not bashing any devs, it's just my preference.
that answer it for you?
Would any of the rom dev's be interested in compiling CM7 for the tf101? Weird, I know, but i think it would be interesting to try at the very least. Thanks.
I love CM7 on my phone and all...
But you want to go back to Gingerbread from Honeycomb?

yeah i agree. why would you want CM7 when its gingerbread and you have honeycomb?
No thanks! I don't see the point of downgrading
Maybe you meant [req]TF101 CM8
What is the best GB leak rom for droid charge?
How do I install it?
Right now running Eclipse 1.3.1 froyo ee4.
There's Eclipse, Humble, GummyCharged, and stock/debloated Gingerbread versions. It's your pick. You install the same way you installed that Froyo rom, but going back you have to repartition and restock your phone.

what do u mean by this "but going back you have to repartition and restock your phone"
what is the better one to use?
I mean if you ever want to go back to Froyo you have to COMPLETELY re-stock your phone (stock rom, kernel, and partitions) before you can flash your EE4 rom of choice. Instructions are somewhere in the stickies...

okay. thanks. dont know which one to try. which one is better to users? humble or eclipse?

Humble hasn't been updated in a very long time, and I have never tried Eclipse. GummyCharged GB has a lot more stability issues than the Froyo version, but then again, all of them do.

alright so i should just stay with froyo then? If i understand you right all I do is download the rom and install it like i did eclipse and humble correct? Nothing else special?

Froyo is generally considered more stable, due to having source available. Given that it's your choice (the really good part of Android IMO).
I'm not sure how you installed the other ROM's, but you are going to need to ODIN to get to gingerbread, and ODIN to get back. Obviously all data is going to be wiped etc, what I tell guys at work that want my help with this, is to make sure they read the thread of whatever they are doing, as I won't help them without them understanding the terminology at the very least....
The big difference I think for most is voodoo support on froyo, vs non on gingerbread, most see a bit of a performance boost.
The only real one that can decide is you...
thanks for all the help

Yes, the dev should have some instructions in their OP. It's completely your decision if you want to go GB. I've been to GB twice, and I keep going back to Froyo because it's more stable and there's no real reason to switch yet. YMMV, and you may fall in love with GB, but that was my experience.
EDIT: There is EXT4 for GB, so Voodoo is kind of negligible.

ask Danalo, they're in his new Humble rom... If you open up his rom package you may be able to find it though I have no idea how to implement it, I'd imagine if you ask nicely he'd show you or link you to instructions or something
i was wondering if there was anyone that can help me out, ive never made one but if someone would be awesome and tell me where to start. i wanna give it a try and recently found alot of time in my hands. Well dont be so cruel in the posts if this is a stupid question. thanks.

the thing you gotta ask yourself like the others are saying is what do you want your rom to have. you want a theme feel to it or do you wanna keep it looking stock. also gotta figure if you wanna add some tweaks or not. there's a lot you gotta figure out before you make a rom. also, you gotta know a lot about what does what when tweaking and all that. i was also thinking about doing some roms myself, but then decided against cause i for one don't have the time nor do i have the patience the devs here have. you also gotta remember that there are gonna be people here who want you to change some things about your rom. and not to mention, you gotta have the time to offer support for it as well. if you do decide to go for it, i wish you the best of luck and look forward to seeing your work.
well i do want to learn how to tweak the phone and themes and all that good stuff, i recently messaged raver and he gave me a good start, so i will start studying linux and java then ill be back hopefully with enough info to tweak some newer OS leak or if anything help out on another phone ( hopefully it wont be that long) but like i said i want to learn for self knowledge and also to help create some awesome stuff in the XDA
and i do have the time to support and modify roms as needed.
so if anyone has any advice on the best way to learn linux and java faster post post post!!! lol
and ill come back and read between my readings thanks for not being jerks by the way lol
Also i might base my rom on Android 2.1 J/K haha but im off to a good start tonight

if you wanna base a rom on froyo, by all means go for it. you would be surprised how many people still run on froyo here. some are afraid to take the plunge to gingerbread cause its not official yet for our device. go with what you feel is best. personally, i think there should be a dev who still makes roms for froyo for those who don't wanna take the plunge. its all up to you though. good luck with your journey either way though.
your right im on raver's octaine and its cool but a couple days ago i flashed back to Audiophile Redux 1.3.3 and i saw a big difference in radio and wifi strength so i might actually start off with a Froyo rom, but i was just making a joke earlier cus i said 2.1 like an eclair rom lol
sence so many are intrested in this actually didnt think that many would.. after i update my roms maybe before then i dono... Ill make you all a compendium of how to build apps how to modify exzisting roms how to build your own rom aka asop how to port roms theme them etc... Ill also prob ask krylon and whitehawk and any other dev that wants to contribute to this. If anyone does. It doesnt hurt and hey if a few ore devs come out of it so be it .. If anyone ever has a question 99 percent of the time u can ask people i will reply and give u the answer or if i dont know the answer ill direct you to the proper place to look for it
haha aawesome!!! see this is exactly why i only flash Raver roms!!! wooo i went from octaine 1.0 to audiophile redux to octaine 2.x to audiophile x2 back to octaine 2.x haha
If Raver leaves my phones post- SGS4G will all remain stock lol
im also looking into modding nd tweaking roms myself so a guide like the one raver is gonna make would be very helpful. thanks in advance
As the OP can i erase some comments on this post? lol just asking...again!
also one more question im back to Audiophile Redux 1.3.3 would the SGS4G Adrenaline shot v12 work with my Froyo rom?
