Dear all !
After 6 years of using windows mobile , I gonna switch to Android ( maybe HTC Legend ) but I need an answer before making decision: Could I transfer my SMS from Windows Mobile to Android ?
I have 2000 sms with my GF and I don't want to lose any of them - is is possible or Do I have to use Windows Mobile for rest of my life ?
Thanks for answers / suggestions
I think there is an app that allows you to transfer sms' from WinMo to Android. Lemme try to find it (I think it is paid though...).
Edit: It is called Windows Mobile SMS Migrator for UK£0.99. It is by MoDaCo.
Description:
BETA!
Windows Mobile SMS Migrator lets you migrate your SMS from a Windows Mobile phone to a ROOTED (yes, ROOT ACCESS IS REQUIRED) Android phone.
After installing this Android application, visit http://android.modaco.com/wmsm to download the PC / WM parts of the application (free) and view a guide on how to use.

HTC Legend is a nice device...Android rocks & will have V2.2 out soon to rock even more!
sms transfer to Android
I used SMS Exporter on the WM device (Diamond 2) to generate an xml file which I imported restored on the HTC Desire using SMS Backup and Restore.
The result displays fine in the standard sms client .
In Handcent SMS the time order of the imported messages is not always ok, received and sent seem to be grouped together

Hey People,
I am looking for a Software to install on my PC so that I can write SMSes an can do phonecalls on my PC over the Diamond.
So is there perhaps a Software for PCs wich works over ActivSync with nearly almost every Pocket PC / Smartphone?
THX for reply
P.S.: Sorry for my bad, really bad English, I hope you understand it
I found what i wanted,
jeyo mobile extender is it called, really nice! works for every pocket pc / smartphone.
Now I still look for calling possibility
I looked for jey o mobile extender and found this :
Jeyo Mobile Companion 2.1
on http://www.jeyo.com/
It says it does calling too
Jeyo is a great app but it can only dial the numbers from the application, not let a call go through the pc.
MODS this thread should really be under the general Diamond section, as this is not an accessory it is a software

Hi everyone,
As i've said in the title i've just leave my wimo kaiser to join android community with the HTC Desire.
And 'cause i'm a android newb I need some help to find alternative wimo programs for my first android experience :
-the first one : I've heard the best of PANDA firewall incoming call / sms but before install it I need some explanation : it could kill incoming unwanted call but can it store black list SMS in memory to consult it after a time ? If not... could you help me to found one could do this ?
-second : is there a way to use IGO 8 on android ?
-last : could you help me to found a call recorder which can store calls in MP3 ?
Thank for all answers

Try doing some research on your own too, it helps getting some experience.

False. No OFFICIAL IGO app for Android yet. However, if you buy a Samsung Spica in Hungary, you'll get an IGO for Android for free. But believe me, IGO for Android is not the same as in WinMO. It's actually IGO Amigo, a slightly altered version is running on iPhone, but IMHO it's a piece of crap (at the moment). Sygic, Navigon are very good alternatives for GPS based offline navigation.
NavNGo (creator of IGO) currently working on a new, improved version called PRIMO, however the relase date is TBA.
@IGO: As a former winmo user i went from tomtom to igo8 and then to igo amigo just because of performance and simple usage compared to igo8.
Under Android I am using "Motonav" which is basically Igo Amigo (same content folder!) and it working like a charm: fast, accurate and really way better than TomTom, Igo8 or Amigo under Winmo (Winmo 6.5 using a TouchPro with Bauners Rom right before his data crash)
@Callrecorder: yes there are several solutions - and they work. Search the market!
Here is a link to IGO MyWay for android:
http://www.igomyway.com/android/en/
Hi there!
I'm going from WinMo too, and tried several apps for GPS nav. As everybody tells, iGo8 (AMigo) is too simple and I prefer Navigon; the best would be MotoNav but doesn't fit exactly the screen (initially made for Nexus).
Do someone know a solution for the calendar for having the name of the person who invite you to a meeting. In WinMo, you have the name of the organizer, the attendees, ... (that's normal, it is their software (Outlook)).
I don't really need the attendees (but it's cool to have, to check if everybody is there), but I really need the organizer??
Thanks for your replies!
PS: yes, I've already done a lot of research, but either I'm not using good searching words, either it doesn't exists.

You can blacklist any contact you like. Just check the Send to Voice mail option at the contact. ChompSMS blacklists smss and you can view them in the blacklist window of the prog

igo is there, look for it. warez sites already posted it dosens of times so it's out there (we don't support warez though

well couldn't find one that uses mp3 for outputs, but is mp3 really necessary?
We have a call recorder for your desire (Total Recall) though it records only in AMR, 3GPP and MPEG4 formats. We're finalizing an update to get it recording nicely on the Desire & Evo so PM me for the download URL (don't use the version from our website for a couple days on the Desire/Evo).
Cheers!

Hello,
I would like to be adviced about the choice of a new mobile. At the moment, I got the K750i, it's a bit old and I would replace it soon.
That phone would be for a professional usage :
--> Wi-fi
--> Sync with Outlook / Gmail
--> Possibility to add lots of free apps
--> What is the best OS ? Windows Mobile or Androïd ?
Thank you
the phone that suites you is an htc touch 2!!!!
has everything you need, not expensive,300 euro in Greece!!!!!!!!!!!!,not huge screen, not heavy and beautiful!!!!!aslo powerful and good camera...
windows mobile =more apps!!!
android=less beauty,less apps,more games

I see from your previous posts that you have an HTC Touch 2. But it's just not responsible to recommend this device. The OP didn't mention he had a tight budget. That would be the only reason to get a Touch 2. It's WinMo and it's not even the best WinMo device.
The only WinMo devices worth getting is the HD2, Diamond2 and Touch Pro2.
But seriously, Android is the way to go...
cool
i already know that touch 2 is not the best windows mobile phone......i just recommended the good things thath the phone has for some help....i never said that is the best windows mobile device
I JUST SAID MY OPINION!!!

Welcome to forums
Asking what id the best OS will become hard to reply as it must be a matter of personal preferences.
On my opinion WM is far away better.
So I can recommend WM/HTC devices:
The best/fastest: Leo
The best with hardware keyboard: Rhodium
Seems I forgot a little thing
--> Max price should be 300€ and should be to manage a company (organisation, synchronisation, aso.)
Btw Rhodium looks good. I need more ^^
Nobody else replied ?
I'm wondering about Windows Phone 7 : is it useful to wait ?
I am having an Nokia 701 mobile which is Symbian S60, Type RM-774, Release Belle Feature Pack 2.
I got an message from WhatsApp saying that
"Unfortunately you wont be able to use WhatsApp after 31/12/2016 because WhatAapp will no longer support your phone."
Is there any way for me to use WhatsApp after the date, because I cannot afford a new mobile.
I am having basic knowledge of mobile app development (IOS,Android) so technical tip is also accepted.
Thanks in advance!!!
Nope mate u cant unless WhatsApp they want to support it again sorry ,
Good luck ,,
