Hi, I want to ask, whether anybody knows, that is possible to load android to ACER/ETEN DX900, and if yes, where I can found ROM for it. thanks
Possible? Yes, it's possible.
Is there a ROM? Nope, no one has developed a ROM yet.
Is it easy? No. People have been working on a port for the Kaiser since Android was first released to beta. After all that time, and on as popular a device as the Kaiser, it's still not working fully. It's take easily as long to develop it for the DX900.
Hello!
Are there any news regarding Acer / Eten DX900 Porting? Was someone able to get Android working on DX900?
Acer Dx900 Windows mobile phone with android ROM ?
Same question here ? This Acer Dx900 Windows mobile phone is useless but it can accept 2 sim cards at the same time, so I'd like to make it less useless with Android
$$$ Donation for interested Developers
Also looking for Android ROM for ACER DX900. Maybe if those ACER DX900 owners can provide donations to the developers, it would most likely get done sooner than never. If we have enough number and contribute an amount of USD10 each, it would a substantial benefit and rewards to the time and effort of the developers

Hi fellow members of XDA!
This is a question I putting to the community (hope to receive more answers than my previous question.
I've been browsing around the web for the last few day in search of way to make my own tablet pc. I think I found some interesting things to get me going and I do have an old laptop that I think I could easily use for my adventure. And so, now that the Hardware part is (in theory) solved I've reach another problem. The OS part. I know android is open source, that most likely I would easily put linux running on the machine, but somehow I want to make it windows mobile capable. Call it a whim if you want.
After reading some stuff around this forum about rom cooking (and I'm no programmer) I have more questions than answers.
So my big question is: If a XDA Rom Cook had access to the device specs, could it build a windows mobile rom for that same device? What specs would he/her need?
Another idea of mine is: I have an old blue angel and a prophet stopped at home. Could I salvage parts from them to the tablet pc?
And here is another question: Where can I get the touch screens, casings and other tablet pc components? Does anyone here knows?
Thanks for reading. I'll start on this project soon and let you know how it goes.
Cheers
Nowadays many user are complaining about LePhone, and mainly about its ROM. First, users dislike Lenovo's custom-made OS. Second, it rarely updates. Its latest version is still Android 2.2.1 but the latest version of Android is already 2.3.5! So we came up with the idea: Hire some guys that are very good at porting systems to port CM to LePhone!
Although Lenovo haven't opened the source code, but I think there's still a another way because a guy called "zbwu" ported an Android 2.3.2 to LePhone on January 2011.But unfortunately he sold his LePhone later and bought a DHD instead.
So we are really thirsty looking for someone to port CM to LePhone! The total pay is 10000RMB (About 1567USD)(Maybe more, maybe less).
If you are interseted in this, please send a message to me!
And finally, thank you! Please forward this to other forums if you can, and we would be very thankful for that!
Please make CM for LePhone!!!
Hi All,
I am buying a type-B Raspberry Pi unit soon, and would like to know what OS everyone thinks is the best to get started with?
Please, only answer if you have used or owned a Raspberry Pi unit before, as I need an informed answer.
The website advised me of the Raspbian Wheezy OS, but I want to know what the dev community thinks.
Cheers,
Deano
Wheezy does seem to be the best solution, but... they are currently porting ICS using a custom kernel should be ready in a couple of weeks at most. There doesn't seem to be much interest for the rspi on this forum though

He should sell it and buy an android.
At the moment it is not possible and don't think it will be in the near future, Windows Phones have the bootloaders locked down and it is very difficult to unlock them to even accept custom WP Roms, Normally involves hours of developers time to try and create HSPL in order to accept any kind of modification, And this will normally only occur if there is enough interest in a particular handset and a bounty is set for the devs.
Android handsets nowadays have dual core and even quad cores and you would be better off purchasing one of those as in the post stated above.
i think your friend is mad!
1) why he choses a win phone if he needs android
2) it's impossible porting android on nokia 820 or other win phone because le OS are made for different hardware.
i can't believe in this question.....

As far as I read Sony Xperia V will be running Android on Intel Atom. But this will be launched in 2013.
And as far as I read you have to pay MS Money for getting WinOS 8 Devices in Developer Mode.
So why won't he sell it? And if its a company device he shouldn't break it

Actually this is very good question, I respect and admit that this can be done but of course if huge number of people request. It just like apple when now OS6 cannot be jailbreak, but it will be. I think that the initial request is to hope that somebody work on this, ho about if there is sponsor??? anybody:victory:

I agreed with you. Why people not open mind to receive and try out of the box. It is benefit to you all if someone can do it, you can use dual OS for difference purpose. You can do what Android can also you can do what WP8 can. I think it is great only waiting for someone make it happen Cheer!
Still is a good idea
I would be happy if i could have a dual boot device ( WIN8 + Kitkat ) Thats why i think many users ask for this.
Keep hoping...
Hi,
I am due to purchase new smartphone and interested in Maru OS. Most probably I am looking at devices from Xiaomi, Innjoo or Oppo (due to spec-to-cost ratio) depending how much friendly it is for porting Maru OS.
1) Can anyone advise which will be the best device for this purpose? I understand major problem will come due to non-availability / locked bootlooders, drivers and working kernel.
2) Also, I am not experienced in mobile development and not a pro/full-time programmer (but can learn as I have been using Gentoo and Arch Linux, plus studied programming during school days), if anyone experienced can help me in getting started, it will be a good start for me.
Thank you.
EDIT:
Marked 'Useless' ... thanks to everyone for not responding.
^bump
If no one is interested in responding to OP, can anyone point me to how to extract device drivers from stock ROM for use with custom ROM I intend to compile? [I mean use working ROM as a base then customize it for Maru OS adoption].
