Sorry if posted in the wrong thread! I have recently switched from the HTC TP2 and was using a program that was windows and palm based. I've attached a copy of the program and any help getting this program to work on the droid would be appreciated. The program lets me download actual vehicle auction transactions to assist me in purchasing vehicles at auctions.
Here is the attachment any help would be appreciated
im no developer. but i don't think its possible having the same app work on different. operating systems. is there a website you can bookmark untill u find something else on the market.

That's what I've been doing but it takes to long(it's to slow) Also when a new car store calls me to appraise a vehicle I can't open my browser while i'm on the phone. There are so many people in the car business that would purchase this program. Someone could make themselves some good money.

It was the app that I probably used the most, so is it possible? Yell searches and contacts integration, news etc. it really was the app I most valued whilst on the move.
It had active update as part of it... has anyone ever gotten anything through the version on the xdaII? I don't know whether there aren't any updates or whether mine's knackered.
Also, on another note I have just called o2 for the 10th time trying to get some costly text alerts to me stopped. The calls are costing me a fortune and each time they tell me that, yes, there will be no more alerts... but there always are. I really am getting sick to the high teeth of o2's crappy service. Any advice / specific numbers to call before I kick them to the kerb?
TIA guys.
The My O2 application is something I really miss now that I have switched from an XDA I to the XDA II.
If you manage to resolve this I would be really grateful if you could let me know.
Regards
I'm one of the Active Engine testers and do have access to the WM client. Unfortunately when loaded on my Xda II and one tries to use the updater to bring in the O2 system nothing is ever received, so I think they have dumped the system.
The USA 'channels' are available but not mant of those are of use to us in the UK.
I miss the access to Yell and also to AA Roadwatch / Routeplanning.
Why didnt they carry forward that application to the XDA II.
Steve
Well I guess they must have had a fal out with the AE Corp, plus think there are alternatives via the mobile web... yeah right..
Hey, I have created an article on XDA Developing and links to the forum to try to bring some more members to this site and to help out. I tried to post as much information as I possibly could to the article. Maybe you can tell me what you think?
Here is the article:

XDA (Xtended Design Architecture) Developing is great to learn if you have a windows mobile device. Reason being is because Windows Mobile is new and still growing, so there is not much you can do with your phone, in this case I have the HTC HD2 which is a great phone with a lot of potential, but you are limited to what you can do on it, this comes in when trying to find apps, as Windows Mobile is very limited on apps and most cost a lot of money. Now you may think a couple of bucks for an app, but no, the most expensive Windows Mobile app I have found in the marketplace was 69.99 for a image organizer/tool. It didn’t do anything magnificent and to me, definitely not worth the money. So I looked around into trying to do more with my Windows Mobile device and found out about XDA Developing.
I visited the Windows Mobile website and came to find that they offer free tools to start creating your own apps for your Windows Mobile phone, even though the tools were free, there is a cost if you want to make money from your app by putting it in the market. So you can create apps for your own liking and use, but if you wanted to put it in the maketplace for others to buy/download there was a one time fee of $99 dollars. Now I thought it was reasonable as long as you get the free tools. So I downloaded the tools and got everything running, but there was a lot to learn. The Windows Mobile website gave some dummy codes for developing but did not have any guides on how to learn how to start building. I was then searching and searching until I found a great website known as “xda-developers.com” which is a website with great forums and discussion on Windows Mobile devices, they also do some discussion on “Andriod” OS as well. There forum is a great place to inhance on what you can do on your phone. As for me I used the forum to find out how to develop my own apps, find apps others have made, they also have custom ROMS and RADIO (cooked) which is sort of like a “Jailbreak” and there are many ways, with a lot of help and support along the way. Thanks to this website I have brought my phone to its full potential and I am very happy with it.
I have fixed a lot of problems I have had with my device as well, such as “freezing, bricking, OS fails, and much more” which got me to thinking my phone would have to be returned. I think that Windows Mobile should have some of the XDA-Developers code a new version of HTC Sense & Windows Mobile, just to make it more stable and bring more customer satisfaction. If you have any problems with your Windows or Android device I would highly recommend using the sites I have listed above. Even if you are just looking to get more out of your phone.

"developing"?
I am asking The developers. How come a basic software program for a computer can not be developed for a smartphone? I am looking at some apps that all have poor reviews for them. However there are decent programs for the computer. Is it due to skill level of the developer. And I mean no disrespect. Or More than the fact that a quality program just can not be made for a smartphone due to the OS whatever it may be IE Android iPhone WM etc. My thought was would a company that develops Apps in a team situation develop a better working app since there would be people to brainstorm and work collectively. It jus seems like some of the business/productivity apps fall short. I am not an It or software engineer guy so please do not take this offensively. There are companies that would charge Five or Ten thousand dollars to create an app. Is this a dumb idea to consider. If it worked properly it would definately sell to the target market. please comment. and again DO Not Take this offensively.
Download software for your pc from freeware sites where every Tom, **** and Harry posts their home made software. There's just as much garbage on that platform too.

Hi,
I'm coming to the experts here because I need some help. I have two adopted handicapped children who have severe spastic Cerebral Palsy. They can only communicate by facial gestures or by pressing a switch. Neither can use a touch pad. I have been looking for an Android app that has preset pages in which I can put symbols and record a word or phrase so that they can select it and speak with us. The app needs a scanning mode so that they don't have to move a cursor to select the picture. So far I have only found Apple apps. :-( . We have android tablets. 2 XOOM and a Vizio 8".
So my question is.... can one of you brilliant minds help handicapped children communicate with the world? I would be willing to test your app in my household. I don't care if I make anything from it except to be able to say "The kids are driving me crazy, why won't they be quiet for a minute!! ". That would be amazing!!!
This is an excellent idea, my younger brother is mentally handicapped. His speach aptitude is that of a 2 year old. His whole life, 35yrs, he has relied on a communication book to comunicate with people that don't know sign language. I've thought of an app like you described above.
It would seem that an application such as this could be implemented for translation purposes as well.
I hope a kind hearted dev sees this thread and recognizes the potential for an application of this type.
I have no programming or developmental back ground, but would be more than willing to handle all of the graphics for a project should someone take it on.
Thank you for your thoughtful request. Feel free to pm me any time, perhaps we can combine efforts to find help with this.

Hello all,
(As always if this has been asked before or in is in the wrong place I will allow the mods to hit me around the face with a wet fish!)
I am a school teacher in the Uk and I am testing using an android tablet in the classroom. Before the school commits to buying them though I have to show that they can do anything an iPad can (i know they can, but I have to show it to the leadership team)
So, the main thing they want to do is to be able to pay for apps on one "master" tablet but use those apps on the 60ish tablets we will buy for the school that pupils will use.
I know its possible by linking all the tablets to the same google account, but we dont want to hand out the tablets to the pupils with a google account on there that can then download paid for apps direct from the market, that could cost the school a lot.
Surely there is a way for this to happen, as otherwise my school will just go ahead and pay £300 each for 30 iPads instead of getting about 60 Nexus 7's for the same price that can do exactly the same thing.
Many thanks for any advice.
greg

How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
I feel like I've seen I information on the Play store or somewhere asking people interested in using Android for education to contact them.
