Best Landscape App Help - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi There.
I am currently using TX Total Landscape and I have a few problems.
When in Manilla on the contacts tab, the contacts do not fill the screen but remain in a 3 column config to one side of the screen.
Music and Photo&video tabs do not act as they usually do when turned into landscape (they remain up-down scrolling instead of changing to their usual side-side scrolling that they have without the mod)
Is there a landscape mod/app that is better. in other words that you can select which tabs will rotate and which will act as normal.
Thanks in advance.

Bumping...

That does not work well at all in manilla. Screen stays blank when in landscape mode.

Bumping again.

anyone using Opera mini?

I'm a big user of Opera mini; given the lack of buttons on the Raphael, I'm concerned it is not well-suited for one-handed use. I'm currently using a Treo 700wx and use the exposed keyboard's numeric keys to scroll (2/4/6/8) and #5 to zoom in and out. The whole navigation is extremely fast and smooth. What is the experience like on the Raphael?
Why not just use opera mobile (it's preinstalled)?
smooth zoom, using the touch wheel.
scroll with thumb on screen, or press direction arrows on touch wheel.

and you can rotate the screen with the accelerometer, no need to pull out the keyboard!

Opera mini works perfectly on raphael.
Some webs are very heavy and are surfed much quickly with opera mini.....
What if you're laying in bed on your side reading the phone? Can you turn off the automatic flip thing, because in that position it would always be wrong
I tend to use opera mini when i'm out and about as it uses data compression, hence reducing loading times and the amount of data downloaded. However, i have found that even with the text size set to maximum, the font is still very small and soemtimes difficult to read. It can also be difficult to select items unless you use the stylus.
does the scroll wheel to zoom work in opera mini? otherwise i think it will be impossible to surf one handed due to the lack of buttons.

Nope... the "home" and "back" buttons are not intercepted by Opera Mini so they both bring you back to the TF3D home screen.

There is a version of opera mini 4.2b that supports vga screens and large fonts. From your phone use opera mobile and go to http://mini.opera.com/beta/ Then click the link that says "If this version fails..." and download the first version with multiple certificates.

Thanks for the link.
I installed that version on my Fuze and it works very well except for the fact that I cannot zoom in or out. I can pan around the zoomed out page using the 2, 4, 6 & 8 keys (on the hardware keyboard), but pressing the 5 key only activates the mouse pointer.
Is anyone else having trouble zooming?
In Portrait mode, I use the capacitive scroll sensor (circle around the joystick) to scroll. I had to add "Java" as a running app in Advanced Config 3.3 SmartTouch settings to do this. In portrait, hitting the Back button does not scroll back (minimizes the app), so you have to use your finger to hit the back/right soft key on the screen. In Settings, make the font the largest helps to make this bigger.
Opera Mini 4.2 works better in landscape on this device. You can use the arrow keys to move around on the keyboard. You can use the Del//<-- key to go back. You can also use Function Lock (double press Fn) to lock in the numerica keys for scrolling around, though 5 does not do anything for me.
Thanks for your help.
I've never used Opera Mini before and I think maybe I just wasn't using it properly. I didn't have "overview mode" enabled in the settings, and I believe that must be enabled for zooming to function.
I also configured Java to use Smarttouch, which is allowing me to scroll a box around the screen which will zoom to that portion of the screen when I click the center button. Thanks for the tip.
I can't get the zoom feature to work at all in landscape mode though. It just stays zoomed in all the time. I can pan around the screen using the number keys, but I can't zoom out.

[Q] Changing TF3D landscape shortcuts

First off I want to thank everyone here at XDA for all the hard work and effort you put into tweaking these great devices.
Now, on to my question, I've searched here and the diamond forum and I can't find any mention of a way to change the shortcut buttons on the landscape TF3D screen. I would really like to be able to customize that screen with shortcuts to applications I actually use. There must be a way to do this, has anyone got an idea?
First post , please go easy on my noobness.
Searchipoos......
Post #9 on first page, bottom ish of second page for a bit extra
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426328&page=2
Thanks Ouza but I saw that post and it's not what I'm looking for. This only deals with changing the two softkeys at the bottom of the landscape screen (which is nice in itself).
I'm wanting to change the 6 big shortcut ''buttons'' above that.
Basically I'd like to make the landscape screen the same idea as the programs tab in TF3D or something like it.
Any ideas... anyone??
I would seriously like to change the big shortcuts as well.I have a dock in my car using the video out. Video out forces Landscape mode. When I hop in my car, I dont want to take notes or check tasks, I want GPS, internet radio, Live Search...
I will dig deep into the registry and let you know what I find.
I want the same thing !!
Video out in the car, so I want to be able to start my Navigation from the landscape-menu.
Jochen
Change Landscape Menu
For the TV out menu that pops on screen after you plug in the video out cable, you can change the shortcuts in the registry.
HKLM\Software\HTC\TVOutPopUp\
There are four links in there, you can change them to any app installed on your phone. Only problem im having is changing the icons.
I have to bump this thread. There must be a customizer out there for the lanscape shortcuts! I just may go back to HTC Home if there is no way to put shortcuts in landscape!
I doubt this is exactly what you're looking for, but herg62123 is working on adding landscape tf3d to his project. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=447056
Not quite,
I have my TP docked in landscape in the car and I would like to open apps like NAV, or Picture Dial, or Kinoma Play in landscape.

I don't think there is going to be any easy way to customize those shortcuts. I'm pretty sure the landscape shortcuts are hard-coded in one of the binary manila files.
That sucks!
Well I guess HTC Home will do for now.
You could change the softkeys to point to two of the apps you want to run. Not the perfect solution but it's better than nothing...
I guess....
Maybe I can use 2nd today and set a button to it with AEbutton and have HTC HOME for landscape and TF3D for portrait.
Thoughts?

Sounds like a good solution. I haven't used either product but from what I've read on here that should work. good luck!
Glad to see this topic getting some attention finally
For anyone interested, try out this theme with a slimmed down version of tf3d in landscape. It may suit what you're wanting more.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=458036&highlight=landscape
Frankly, though, I didn't like it, and preferred to go back to my old theme. My main goal was having a landscape screen with a handful of a few apps I'm most likely to use, but in this theme you still have to scroll through your entire list of apps installed so, it really wasn't any kind of shortcut.
I'll keep sorting through all the manila files for a solution. Anyone with any reference docs or anything on creating themes or customizing tf3d would help as I've never dealt with it until now.

I've been searching around and noticed that indeed themes do change the "landschape shortcuts" but there doesn't seem to be a "general" program that's able to change them. I'm a little confused, because some reactions state it isn't possible to change these "shortcuts", saying they are hardcoded. Does this mean they're rooted so deep in the code that it's very hard to change them? Anyway I keep following this thread and hopefully some come up with a solution... Keep it up!

Landscape mode without sliding QWERTY keyboard

This is my fisrt post on this forurm, so first of all - I want to welcome everybody
Now the problem...
I have got one question: Is there any program or other "tip" that will allow me to switch between landscape and portrait mode by pressing specified button (with QWERTY keyboard hidden all the time) ?
Sometimes I want to use landscape mode, but i don't need QWERTY keyboard. And as we all can say - Vox without slided out QWERTY keyboard is more handy, shapely and graceful
Anyone can halp me?
Celetask can do it for you - no idea if there is a shortcut option somewhere. Usually the applications that would benefit from landscape allow to rotate the screen content by themselves (e.g. TCPMP).

of course aebutton plus can do this for you it allows asign a key for rotating the screen
like longpress home or camera it doesnt affect normal button function if you set it correctly!
I've posted an app somewhere long ago, but I can't remember where. I'll try to find it! (unfortuately xda-devs statistics only show the last 500 post in my history, so I can't find it in there^^)
Maybe this should help -> http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Others/RBC9-Landscape-40862.shtml
frauhottelmann - I'll be pleased But don't hurry or something, i won't die without it ;P
torrentonly - I belive that application is for touchscreen devices (look when "Start" is)
Great thanks o all of you!
I use this little app (2,9 kb). I don't remember where I have found it, but I think that is freeware because it is minimalist and don't have any credits.

[Q] Manual screen rotation

Hi,
I have a Wits A81E tablet device which doesn't has G-Sensors, However, sometimes I do need to change the screen orientation from landscape to portrait and vice-versa. Does anybody familiar with any application which is able to do that?
P.S - I have tried using "RotateD" which works great but for some reason it installs 2 icons which would be inconvenient to use as I want to put the rotation icon on the dock bar.
Thanks
I also had a hell of a time locating a manual rotate sceen until a member from slatedroid helped me out
He informed me of adw launcher is best used with this rotate app, not clear on why but also never tested without it yet. I had sum trouble getting it to work at all until i had to change sum setting around. Now it works and now im happy to go portrait. The keyboard was one main reason as it was to large for even two thumb typing (but portrait is great for two thumbs)
I be right back with more info...
Ok its called rotating screen. Version 1.0. Not sure how he got his hands on it but a search result yeild nothing. So instead of uploading here, in fear, just pm me your email and ill send the instructions as i got.

Page orientation in S-Note?

Hi,
This could be a daft question, but how can I make the paper be in landscape orientation in S Note? I can turn the tablet, and the app rotates, but the paper is still portrait. Surely there is a way to make the paper landscape for long equations etc?
Also, while I'm here, is there a quicker way to scroll up and down the page than turning pen mode off, and cursor mode on, scrolling, then going back to pen mode? Hoping there is a hidden scroll bar or something.
Thanks
Matt

I think that's not possible now, since you can't create a custom template.
Anyway, if I remember well, I've seen that in the next JB release there will be a new template specifically designed for landscape mode.

Ah, Well that Is good to know. Frustrating that such a simple fundamental feature isn't present, but I suppose that's the price to pay for being an early adopter! Good to know they are improving the device.
Any tips on speedy scrolling? Shame there isn't a feature like double click on the pen button, do your scrolling, lift off the screen, and pen returns to pen functionality....or is there?
I don't understand. When I open S-Note and use a background with lines that go accross the page in landscape and turn my GNote 10.1 on it's end for portriat oreintation the lines turn and still go across the page. If there is any writting on the page it also rotates to the proper alignment.
I found some kind of a solutionton for thislandscape paper "problem". I rotate my note 10.1 so that the paper is in portrait mode, then i switch off the auto rotate function in the quick settings bar and than when i go back to my drawing i can rotate the screen in landscape and the paper stays in landscape mode...only problem is that so does the text but it doesn't bother me !
Sorry if my English isn' very good.
There is a landscape mode template that was added in S note with the last update. If you can not see it when you are viewing templates, rotate to portrait and you will see the landscape template, not sure why it is not visible in landscape view.

When I use the landscape template and rotate the GNote 10.1 then the screen changes to portrait and the page becomes just a small bar accross the screen. So I don't understand what the landscape template is supposed to be for.

Zoom to 100 % once you rotate in the landscape template then you will see a much wider place to write/draw or both! Some prefer the wider page, in portrait template you are not getting the true width, just zoomed .

Stumble upon your post while finding landscape mode for s note.
Not sure you already found a solution for scrolling,.. you can do scrolling by putting two fingers (like when you wanna do zooming for photos) on the screen, instead of moving the two fingers in opposite direction (for zooming), you need to move the two fingers together to down or up for scrolling.
Hope this helps.
