I recently ditched my Treo Pro for a Fuze, couldn't get around that 320x320 screen anymore.
One thing I miss, though, is that the Treo could assign separate MP3 ring tones to email versus texts or SMS, and could differentiate between Known (in Contacts) callers and unknown and give them separate ringtones. My Fuze doesn't appear to do this. I can assign separate sounds to emails, but none of my custom MP3 appear in the list. There isn't selection for Known callers at all.
I tried searching for custom cabs on the Treo, but nothing in the obvious places. Isn't there supposed to be a text file listing where the programs to install are so that manufacturer/provider customizations can run after a hard reset? Where would that be located? I want to see if the Palm customizations will work on another device.

The Mp3s need to be located in My Device\My Documents\My Ringtones
They will then appear in all the selections
And if memory is an issue, and want to use the memory card, create a folder called
My Ringtones on the memory card, and put em there...
That's actually where I keep the MP3s, still no dice for email notification. All the default ringers are there, none of my customs.
I use almost every one of the same customs from the same folder for contact ringtones and they work.
I miss HAL telling me there's a message for me....
What about separate ringtones for Known versus unknown callers? I just booted up the Treo again to make sure I wasn't nuts and it can definitely do that.

I'm looking for some simple freeware that will display in icon form, SMS, MISSED CALL, and MAIL notifications, with number of msgs listed. Tapping on the icon will take you to the appropriate location.

They were available it seems for older versions of WM (I have 6 pro) and smaller screens, but cannot find in VGA format to use as a today plugin.

There are some shells that can do that, for VGA and QVGA, like HomeScreen++, rlToday.. and some others. you can download skins for them from the official websites. just look for them either here in the forum or in google.
Is there a way how to embed the facebook images in the contacts automatically ?
Only manila is able to use the facebook images and some applications such as S2U2 reads the image embedded in the contacts when a call is received.
maybe using resco photo manager? don't know, i can't try it right now, but i'm also interested in this argument, i don't use s2u2 incoming call for this reason.

I have been looking for an application that is able to act just like the default CallerID but is going to be able to match the incoming call from an external source ( Handbase , xls , csv etc )
I do not need it to be realtime or replacing the default CallerID but rather a seperate popup bubble or just a Log File
The Reason :
I have some thousands of contacts thus impossible to sync with address book
so i curry them in a separate Database
If i receive a call that is not listed as contact i have to search it through the other database and see if is someone i know ( eg client ) and call back or inore

I need a modification for my manila and I hope members can help me because I think it will be useful for other guys.
All of us are aware that HTC Messaging system has bad problems. Delay is the most important of them.
I have disabled HTC Messaging be appropriate cab file (Zenyee Disable HTC Messaging 1.2)
But in sense user interface when I receive a message and I tap it, it goes to a third mode (it is not windows messaging and also not HTC messaging too)
I want to edit this function. I wanna use windows messaging system for replying that means when we tap on received message, it goes to windows messaging system while the receiver phone number is defined (base on reply to)
this function is exactly similar to press on menu button (on bottom right) and chose reply sub menu.
Now is there any body here can fix this issue ?
