All about Dopod D600

Since there is no particular section I thought of submitting the information here.Pls feel free to add.
Apart from specs some important information
-Code name is GENE 100
-No Wi-Fi
-AKU 3.2
-Looks like use G3 chip.Boot loader mode shows IBL(no IPL)/SPL 1.01.000
-aWizard can extract Extended ROM, but no other part.It can also extract the .rgu file,which I guess is not complete cos its size is around 25kb.
-It is very much light weighted and uses the same Wizard battery.
-Hv not yet tried to back up ROM using other tools.

A2DP on Dopod D600
I am using this for last 1 month.
Works great. Have light weight, battery power good etc. But have a typical problem. I am also using Sony 970 bluetooth stereo. This D600 dopod says it supports A2DP out of box. I am able to pair this with Sony 970 and it recognizes wireless stereo profile correctly. No problems. But while playback the sound is played back in MONO ONLY. But there is no shutterig sound etc. I installed Zoki A2DP patch on this PPC, rebooted paired again and sound from bluetoth is received in STEREO. But then starts typical A2DP problem i.e. staggering sound, lip sync problems etc. The famous registry hacks to solve this works. But what is this? Has anybody encountered the same problem? Why the PPC does not work out of box to support A2DP as advertised to support the bluetooth stereo? (Using AKU 3.2)
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

and upload this dump.bin to rapidshare

Here is the proof for those who said that 64rom/ram can't handle wm5...

It's not much a ROM problem, but more a compatible nk.exe to find... And those devices are not well described, what kind of chips are inside? What is the memory map?
And after that problem, we'll have to cook a WM5 ROM using 2003 format? Is it supposed to work? Where is the ROM burned to on the gigabyte device? DOC or NAND?...
If you know anyone using this device, then you can try to share some informations about the internals of this device...

I haven't the technical knhowlege on these, but if someone of you can port the 'G Smart i' rom or find a way to upload on magician, I will test it on mine and let you know the results...

Well... When one of you will do it
You can have a "WM6 style" (with 2003 binaries) using taxist's ROM (2.03TX)
It's the only alternate ROM for Magician... Maybe should you practice a bit cooking WM2003 ROMs, show us the result, and work on your WM5 or WM6 ROM
You won't waste time because you'll learn!

The minimum requirement of Windows Mobile 5.0 is 32MB RAM and 64MB ROM. For devices
having only 64MB ROM, there is a high chance that the devices may only be using a reduced version of WM5.
For example, HTC Galaxy has 64MB ROM and about 33-37MB of it is for persistent storage.
One of the models of the upcoming Fujitsu Siemens N500 series may also have only 64MB ROM.
And WM5 upgrade is also provided for devices having only 64MB ROM, e.g. iPAQ hx2110/2410,

If you don't show me you can do it, I'll think you're a lier (you cannot prove what you say) or someone working for Microsoft used to make us waste our time answering stupidest questions in the world (like 30 already existing topics for WM5/WM6 for magician...). What part of i dont much about nk.exe.I am a newbie, you said in a previous forum that the prob was finding an nk.exe that uses the same processor as the magician, i found it and as u know more than me i thought you could help. i know its not that easy but surely its not impossible. There are many devices out there that run 5.0 that came out with 2003se that have 64mb rom.

Maybe we shall contact somebody who will try to take the challenge. Maybe try to put the message on homepage od XDA and so on. B0ris dont be so negative.. maybe it will be very hard but it sounds possible (maybe its still impossible with his rom, dunno, dont have skills to say it right) so we must try to contact somebody who can do it.

You can try contacting helmi, he made WM6 possible for three devices believed to be WM6-less for a long time (Blue Angel,Himalaya and Apache) and he Did it! The guy is just pure genius.

If he'd be successful that'd probably boost Magician sales all over the world. That'd be awkward for all retailers since it's considered an abandoned device.

I'm not so negative...
They are looking for someone's else work... why don't they do that themselves? Because it's easier that way!
WM6 on magician is possible, everyone is sure about that, but the ones who wants it are not the ones who are participating... Always the same problem, bummers asks, developpers escapes!
Personnally, before arguing about if it's possible or not, they should try to cook a 2003 ROM (how many of these were created? 1? 2? Then we can all consider ourselves a great Magician gurus! It's so eeaeaaassssyyyyy! no need to try!), try to analyse bootloaders to identify the comaptible ROM formats (WM5 using 2003 ROM format: can you explain me how you do?). Then try some ubiquio401 reverse and FIND UBIQUIO 401 HARDWARE SPECS AND MEMORY MAP

@b0ris747: I think it's just not worth the time. It would probably take ages to figure out all that stuff, but for what? Noone is gonna pay you for that... more over you might be sued for copyright infringement.

That's why I posted some weeks ago that efforts shall be gathered to have a bootable linux... Seem difficult (specially the bootldr step) but quite less than 2003 -> WM5/6... And experts are available!
I tried the haret loaded version of linux on magician, it was great... But still problems with suspend/resume and some things to fix (GSM)...
Maybe in some days I'll give it a new try, and will retry making a cross-compiler toolchain...
No limitations, everything can be rebuild based on your needs... Maybe the ultimate alternative is here!

T8282 Clone - Sunno HDI

Nice to be here. I recently bought a Sunno Hdi (HTC t8282 Clone).
I know that the original one is the better but this clone is what i could afford.
I've made a search here and I didn't find anything related to this clone.
I would like to know if somebody else here have this phone and if threre are some 6.5 rom compatible and touch flow 3d.

I doubt there would be any ROMs for that here. Check a chinese forum. It uses a samsung processor so I doubt that TF3D would be compatible .

Well the camera is good and wifi works fine. I'm trying to install a GPS software to see how GPS works.
The english version dont have touchflow 3d installed as in the item description, that's why i'm looking for it here.

I dont think he has tried to install a custom ROM yet. I believe he is looking for a windows mobile 6.5 port for his phone.
I highly doubt you will find one and you may not even when WinMo 6.5 is released.

I'm actually using throttle launcher for touch flow 3d, is very cool and customizable.
I think that I can go untill 16gb tf card, I will test it this weekend.
I dont think that it has FM radio I'm not sure, it has FM radio in the description but I didn't test it yet.

The seller informed me that
the phone doesn't have hard reset function.

Android on a WM Phone

First of all, sorry for my english but I'm portuguese. I have a TMN Silverbelt, a custom phone made by ZTE for the portuguese company TMN. This is the link of the store: tinyurl.com/yaagpb4
This phone comes with WM 6.5.3 Professional. I don't like the Windows Mobile, so I was wondering if it's possible to install Android on this phone. It has a Qualcomm 7225 ARM1136EJ-S at 528 Mhz and 256MB Flash + 256MB RAM. Is this possible? And if so, what software do I need to install or how do I do it?

From the title, I thought that it was about a sexual position. Nope.
You may be able to put a custom built rom on SOME of the windows mobile phones with A LOT of effort and hacking. The phone functions won't work, nor will the wifi, bluetooth or touch screen since there won't be any drivers available for them.
So for all the practical purposes, No, you can't. Just buy an android phone instead if you like it.
For all the non practical purposes, yes but then again, you wouldn't be asking this question if you were looking for non practical purposes.
