Yes. Install BsB Tweaks then use its function to make TT go to landscape when you turn the phone. Works fine for me.

Apart from people requesting it over and over again, satnav is one of the main reasons that I wrote PLToggle. You can get it in my signature. It's for people that want to rotate the screen just every now and then, and don't want it to rotate by accident when they hit a bump or go round a corner lol.

Just wondering if anyone has encoutered a problem with the screen turning itself off. It is not a settings issue but the screen randomly turns itself off in the middle of being used so i am guessing it mght be something to do with the light sensor perhaps?
Well if anyone else has the same problem or can offer some sort of explanation i would be very interested to hear about it.
Thanks in advance
i think this might be related to autolock. if you have that enabled, disable the screen dimming and let it turn off after say 2 minutes. then you should be ok.

I've had a similar issue recently - suddenly the screen started to switch off after 30 seconds without use, no matter what settings I configured in the energy system settings. No explanation, probably a bug in the 6.1 stock ROM. (I'm on another ROM now...)

Ditto.
Own ROM 6.1 (nothing special - really just Google maps and teeter removed)
Apps:
4 Column Start Menu.cab
FdcSoft TaskMgr 3.1.cab
GoogleMaps.CAB
GpsCycleComputer_3.114.CAB
htcAddicts cleanRAM v1.6.cab
MobileTweet.CAB
NETCFv35.cab
NetworkPlugin_1_0_30468_1.CAB
PocketShield.CAB
rar.ppc_arm.cab
SoftReset_Suspend.CAB
same here. tried some reg tweaks but none disabled poweroff after 30 seconds
it happens to me every time after i use igo8,
so my solution is to go to the MANILA power setting (not the default windows setting) and turn DIM off.
cannot find manila power settings. where are they?

I have that problem to ?
I have a 6.1 windows, what can I do to deal with this problem ?
Thankx
in power settings enable & disable dim it will fix this but only till next time... i do it after every time i use igo8.
this is especially annoying when using the topaz as hard disk or navigating via tomtom. hope they will bring out a fix soon.
Think my problem was slightly similar as I was using the original shipped ROM. Well phone is with HTC now in for screen repair so hopefully the problem will be solved.
I'm guessing it was probably down to an install of some 3rd party application. anyway will repost after i get my td2 back tomorrow

Hi, Got my phone back recently with this from HTC.
Problem Description: 1. Touch Panel Function abnormality
Repair Description: 1. Diagnosis
2. Replace SUB ASSY, Bezel w/touch window pre-Assy
3. Function Test
All working ok so far!
Hey, my mom is using a Samsung Omnia (the first 8gb version) All original never been updated before. The phone got a standard function to rotate your screen when you hold your phone in landscape mode. Is there a app that works correctly. I've tried rotate me and BsB Tweaks. The first one won't work automaticly and the second one works after you've selected your app that must rotate. I've got several apps, so it takes me a lot of time. Also I'm not trusting BsB Tweaks.
Shortly is there an application for my HTC Touch Diamond 2 with a stock win 6.5 ROM that can rotate my screen instantly?
Try Gyrator...

I need some way to stop the music screen from rotating to landscape view because I use the phone along with an AUX cable to my car. It makes it difficult to drive and change songs when it rotates to landscape view. Is there anyway to turn off the accelerometer or stop the rotation? I've tried gyrator and changescreen, but those don't work. (or if someone has found a way to make those apps work, please give me instructions!) thanks.

You'll have to edit your phone registry to disable the full screen rotation. Go to HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila and look for EnableFullScreen. Change the "1" to a "0" and soft reset.
thank you nsauceda35! it worked perfectly. much appreciated

Hi,
It would be better to modify the orientation to portrait and then check the box above for "System Persistent". It will gray out the orientation but lock it to any orientation you selected. ADW will no longer auto-rotate, but most apps will still auto-rotate to landscape.
I’m sure it will solve the problem.
that too, good call

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I left the Blackberry (Bold 9900) world and jumped on board here. So far I LOVE my Mytouch 4g Slide!
I could have sworn that my "home" screen and "all apps" screen would rotate when I turned it sideways without having to slide my phone open. Now it doesn't. I first noticed it when I opened up my Netflix app. I turned the phone sideways to search for a movie and the screen would not rotate. It only rotated when the movie played.
Do your phones rotate on the home screen/all apps screen without sliding it open?
Please help, it's bugging the heck out of me.
Thanks
Whoops I thanked you lol.
Some apps allow landscape mode, and some don't.
In addition, auto rotate allows your sensor to make the screen turn when it's on its side. Check the settings. (Settings > Display, I think). Hope this helps.
mine actually rotates when the keyboard is closed and doesn't when the keyboard is open, which is quite logical and the correct behaviour i think
Does your MT4GS do this too???

That's strange. I wonder why that is. So yours rotates the home screen and "all apps" screen when turned sideways?
I am sure that my auto-rotate feature works because when I open certain apps, say, the Gallery where I have all my pictures stored, I can turn it sideways to the left or right and it will rotate accordingly.
It is only when I try to rotate the Home screen and All Apps screen that I could have sworn would rotate too.
Any help on getting this back the way it should would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Doo Wop Mario

I checked my Auto Rotate settings and they've always been on. I unchecked it and then rebooted and then checked it again and it still didn't work. Not sure why.
Nope, if you're on the stock ROM (As far as I remember, considering I haven't been on stock since the first ROM came out and I've refused to use the stock launcher anyways) orientation won't change on the "Home" screen unless you slide the keyboard open. Correct me if I'm wrong. Personally, I turn rotation off because it sometimes gets annoying. You could always try a different launcher though, I'm pretty sure ADW and Go Launcher rotate on any keyboard condition.
The app Orientation Control works well if you want your display to stay in a particular orientation all the time. Costs a buck or two in the market, and the main thing it messes up is the camera when you want to take a picture, but you can always switch it back to 'auto rotate' in those cases.

Yeah, I'm on stock ROM. I like the rotation feature for now, and was just wondering why it would work on some screens and not on others. I thought that was a default feature.
At least I know I'm not losing my mind. I really did believe it used to rotate the Home screen and All Apps screen without sliding it open.
I guess one thing I can try is going into a T-Mobile store and testing out their phone there to see if it rotates.
Thanks everyone!

Never did for me in the stock Sense launcher on the app drawer or home screens, unless sliding out the keyboard. I made a reference to that in the tv-out thread back when I first got the phone in august.
It works everywhere else, and you could just use another launcher to have it happen on those two screens.
I'd like to enable that functionality in Rosie - i'm not sure why it's like that and it's puzzled me for months.
I dunno, personally, I turn off auto rotation all the time. If I want to view anything in landscape, I just slide the keyboard open. Just my preference, though.
I really like a free app called auto rotate switch. It gives you a button in the status bar that you can click to turn on and off auto rotation. I've used it since my first android phone, but have never used it with this one.
