I am trying to set up my college student email account, which is hosted by google Gmail, on my dash running WM6.
The email address is "myname"@students.kennesw.edu
I tried the same pop settings as my gmail account, incoming server pop.gmail.com : outgoing server smtp.gmail.com. I also tried the server settings as pop.students.kennesaw.edu and smtp.students.kennesaw.edu.
When i try to connect to the email account from the phone i get an error to check the account name and the password. They are both correct but it will not connect. It gives me an error that it can not connect.
Any help with how to set it up is appreciated. I have my personal Gmail set up on the same phone and it works fine and i have my school address forwarding to that email but i can not reply from that address.
Thanks
I'm not sure about this but it might be students.kennesaw.edu for both POP and SMTP
have u tried using ur email addy as username, and smtp should be that or your mobile carrier

Google's response
Hello,
Thank you for your report.
Configuring POP access for your Google Apps email account is very similar
to configuring it in Gmail. However, any time you're asked for your
username during the configuration process, you'll need to enter your full
email address, including your domain ([email protected]_domain.com). All other
settings are the same.
However, please note that we haven't been able to test POP access with
your mail client yet, but we're working to make our service compatible
with as many mail clients as possible. We look forward to announcing
additional compatibilities in the future.
Sincerely,
The Google Team
yup, me too
I'm having the same problem, also with students.kennesaw.edu. Love to see more info

I have Charter as my ISP at home. My email accounts are through them. I had to use VZW smtp server to be able to send email from my device. Well VZW just stopped that server. My ISP, Charter, does not allow me to send email from another ISP through thier server, it gets blocked. I don't want to have to set up another email account just to be able to send email from my ppc. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how work around this problem.
I just signed up for a gmail account and used gmail smtp. This was the easiest solution I could find.
Hello,
Please recommend me the app.
I'm looking for mail application which can receive mails from one account (corporate exchange in my case) and automatically sends (forward) this to another mail account (gmail).
probably you know another ways to do this? I'm asking about this app on android platform because my cell tariff plan is 3g unlimited, but I haven't host *nix or win at home or office to perform this forwarding.
the best way would be the check an email from exchange server from gmail account like imap and pop3, but unfortunatelly, default gmail account has support for these ones only(pop3/imap)
Hi, I'm a noob. I have a work email that I think uses exchange (it's a big corporation and we have outlook/entourage in the offices). I can also access my email from anywhere via https://webmail.*****.com/
I can't figure out how to sync my mail app with that email. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try the "Exchange by TouchDown", I'm sure will help
Are you using the default Froyo Email app? or something else?
your username/password combo should be your normal login credentials to login to the webmail service. If your company requires you to append the domain to the user name then it will look like this: domain\username
The server address will be the url of the webmail service for OWA. You may need to also allow all SSL connections for this to work properly.
Hope that helps.
there also is a chance that your company has not provisioned you for Exchange ActiveSync. If none of the above work, give your IT department a call and verify that youre mailbox is enabled for EAS
in the default htc app choose for exchange and put these exactly like underneath
e-mail adres [email protected]
server adres webmail.*****.com
password the password you use to log in to webmail
yes, your server requires an encrypted ssl connection
No domain name is required!!!
Hm. I tried everything above and still cant get it to work. Will talk to IT, thanks guys!
Hi all
I have problem with my email, when i down email from my company server in device but don't keep it after delete mail on mail server.
thanks
Most likely you're using an Exchange server and the IMAP4 Protocol. IMAP has synchronized email inboxes, so deleting an email on the server should delete the email from all synched inboxes (your phone).
Maybe try setting up a POP3/STMP account, I guess that could work if you want your email inboxes to be not syncrhronized.
