I noticed, since I uploaded the new Facebook app. from "Marketplace", once I visit facebook various pics from Facebook are stored to my "Device Album"???, How do I stop this? Any help is appreciated, very annoying to having delete them each and every time. Thank..

since today i cannot refresh my Facebook app. it gives me the a [MAILFORMED JSON" error every time i refresh. i can access my account in the browser without any prob. does anyone is experiencing this error? or any tips in how to get pass it?

you mean Facebook app, right? not that I'm aware of. only have. software from the market. no themes. running stock kernel and rom. other thing that might be related is that when i try to open my Gmail inbox, or sinc my Gmail account - just mail - the process google apps stop responding and force closes, without letting me see if i have incoming mail. started 1,5 weeks before the Facebook app prob

i did it but with no joy. still get the same error...
and the error only happen when i access my profile and the news feed...

After doing some research it appears the issue is FB itself. All Android related FB apps are having the same issue.
Add me to the list. Everything was fine until the latest update.
I've found the error. It's not with FB. It's with the feed. Sometimes, there are things in your feed the JSON cannot read. That creates the error. I uploaded a youtube video and was constantly getting this error. I logged into FB from a desktop and deleted the post and now it works perfectly. Apparently, there are some things in the feed that aren't read correctly - creating the error. Hope this helps!

I'm actually surprised I was somewhat right about this issue in another thread in which I tried to answer this question. Here's my reply

^^^ I find this to be correct ^^^
When someone posts something in the newsfeed that the droid facebook app doesn't like, then the app will give that error. After more people post in the newsfeed and the culprit post is weeded out, then it goes back to working. Same will go for looking at your friends profiles, or even at your own profile if someone posts something the app does not like.
Also, I get the same problem with Bloo, but Bloo does not state an error has occurred. It will just fail to load the feed, or profile, etc...
Wanted to also add in that this is a universal problem... meaning iPhone and WM users are also having facebook app failures do to something facebook has done on their end.

Anyone else running into this, I can click link, and link a facebook contact with the google contact, it says linked, but it keeps them as 2 separate entries instead of combining them as it should, also get a message that I can't edit SNS information, something like that. Anyone solutions or fixes?
There appears to be an issue with the 'sync' and facebook and the facebook app. At least for me. I can occasionally get a sync to happen with my facebook contacts if I try it before installing the facebook app. After its installed there is no chance at all of syncing. Not sure if this is a facebook issue or a samsung/android issue.
Once last time, I sync my Facebook app with my phone contacts. Then it "mess" up my contacts such as changing for me names of my contacts to what the contact use in Facebook. Because of that, I had nightmare.
I am just curious how many of you do sync your Facebook app with phone contacts? I ask because with all the integration of Google with Facebook and Twitter or even with social media websites, I was wondering to try sync again or not.
Like what's the benefits to sync?

I do. I found that to solve the problem with Facebook last names, you link the Facebook contact TO your google contact, not the other way around. If you link the Google contact to the facebook contact, it will use the name that's on facebook.
I find it extremely helpful to have my facebook contacts right in my phone. That way, if I need to contact somebody that isn't in my regular phonebook, i can contact them quickly.

I have a Samsung focus and did the mango update and now about 80% of my facebook contacts pictures (on the phone not the facebook app) do not show up on the phone. Anyone else have this issue or a way to fix it?

Did you try to refersh your facebook account?
Go Settings --> email + accounts --> Facebook - Sync
if you search all you contact will come up. If you want it to list all of your FB contracts in you phone you have to change the settings.

As for your question, are you talking about contact photos for your contacts, or your Facebook contacts themselves not showing up.
If your contact photos aren't showing up, maybe your contacts need to be re-linked to their Facebook accounts. Check if they are linked.
If your Facebook contacts are not showing up at all, and you want them to be displayed in your People list, then you need to go into People settings and change the filter to display Facebook contacts (if you haven't already done so).
thanks for all the input. I am aware of all said above. I updated to Mango and this is a mango issue. All of my facebook contacts show up, the only issue is about 30-40% of them when i try to choose the facebook picture or my contact picture the facebook picture is missing. This is not a settings issue otherwise the other 60-70% would not work properly. Is there a way to delete the facebook account and redo it in mango? I have already tried to resync it many times but for many facebook contacts it shows a blank picture while others it does not. Attached is a screenshot showing only my facebook contacts, as you can see some of the pictures are missing. IS there any way to reset just facebook on Mango Beta?

well i got a worst problem, i have a htc hd2 with mango beta 1 with marketplace, everything is fully functional but "IM". I've tried everything even change languages for both windows live and facebook, but always says in set im status "cant connect to im".

I'm sure this must have been asked before, but I don't seem to be able to find anything for Sense4.
The contact photos shown in People etc that are pulled from Facebook don't seem to be updating. If I go to the individual contact 'Updates' tab that lists their activity, I am shown the new profile pic, but not on the contact itself.
As a result, the photo shown in Messages isn't the correct one either.
Has anyone found a way to force an update of these?
I'm currently running TrickDroid 4.4. Thank to the guys for that too.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

It has to do with the way Google implemented the contact APIs in Ice Cream Sandwich. You can fix it with HaxSync https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mots.haxsync

I did just try and force a sync of Facebook via accounts & sync and this seems to have updated the contact photos without the need for the app.
Not as nice as dynamic updating my any means.
