DOWNLOAD DamageControl v2.06 Lite UpdateHey everyone! I have a beautiful update for you guys running DamageControl v2.06 Lite. This update can be flashed over the current installation of my DC 2.06 Lite, and does not require a wipe. What this does is moves a bunch of audio files from the phone's internal memory to your SD card, to free up even more space inside of your phone!
DISCLAIMER: I do not take responsibility for your errors if you do not follow the instructions below!
You need to mount your SD card to your computer and back up anything inside of the Media folder that you want to keep, because this update will erase the folder and it's contents, then rewrite the folder and add the sounds files to it.
The Phone's UI sounds are left on the phone, for speed reasons mainly.
So, after you make a backup of anything you want to save out of your Media folder inside the SD card, you need to do a nandroid for general purpose. Then once you nandroid, throw this update onto the root of your SD card, bot into recovery and flash the zip.
Enjoy this new mod, and credit goes out to regaw_leinad for the scripting, who is now a Contributor at Market 4 Android!

Hey! I found a post to another user who had a similar issue here: forum.xda-developers.com/show...=709788&page=2
I also can get into recovery, however, it's not finding any backup to use etc.
I think if I could get a recovery img pushed to my SD card and go back to stock, I could work with that. Running Zen Rom 1.7 currently. I was trying to clear up some space to install apps2sd as I was out of room and did a full wipe after I made a copy on my PC of my entire SD Card, but now when i go into my phone shell it confirms the phone but can't see system directory.
Not sure how to get stuff back on SD to work with it. Any ideas?? HELP- Phone is 100% DOWN!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

you might need to format the sd card, see if that helps
I do not know what happens but I do not understand why I only give the lite version .. the other times it was fine ... thanks
Try running the install option in Dexter's Open Recovery app.
HTH
I'm sorry but you say to put apk openrecovery nandroid folder or delete the folder and leave the folder nandroid openrecovery with in stock v1.3
Are you running Dexter's Froyo?

Check if your sd card has an OpenRecovery directory.
Also, make sure you're not connected for USB Memory Card Access when you run Dexter's OpenRecovery.apk installer. Maybe try deleting OpenRecovery directory and OpenRecovery.zip from the sd card before installing OpenRecovery.apk.
Another idea is that it could be that there isn't enough free space on your sd card. I think Dexter's OpenRecovery.apk installer first puts OpenRecovery.zip on your sd card and then extracts it. Perhaps your sdcard doesn't have enough free space to extract the zip? Or perhaps there wasn't even enough space for the zip?

I've had this problem before and it was the openrecovery.zip file that caused the issue, I just re-copied the file onto my sdcard and all was good.

hello .. the SD is in a class 6 8GB free, I have no sd 5.80 in the zip file and no folder openrecovery ... in fact when I install the program restart recovery system installed in a flash while ago when I tried other rom us put a few seconds and then everything was fine .. and I entered the boot recovery ... I just do not re-create the folder on sd openrecovery .. when I feel are not related and not just for recharging ... .. I do not know what to do if .. but again ..sbf.. sorry again for translation by google..... p.s.certainly is true that I simply formatted the card by removing everything and then adding only a few folders (music, etc) do not know if this could affect in some way you could post .. .. (openrecovery.zip) maybe I could work ... I have no more ... thanks

Here are Dexter's OpenRecovery.zip and OpenRecovery.apk. I would try just installing the apk while disconnected from USB.
thanks .. now I feel I know you
followed the procedure but nothing yet .. and flash lite version as the zip v1.3 update you could do or would not work
Hello, I am still here ... good news after several failed attempts by rootbooter .. I did a clean / factory reset after this account without starting openrecovery .. I came back to get recovery and eventually worked (hopefully) fantastic .. . I'll try the new v1.3 (up to now I've tried almost all the dexter rom but the best for me and was the v1.0 .. the phone was born again I'm in Italy but I was French because sbf flash Italian Journal that I had created many problems) thanks anyway .. thank you all for the help thanks again ...
I tried several rom installs and am going to stay with gummychargedGBE1.5 with Black Alien theme. (at least for a little while...lol).
I have made a copy of my sd card's music, video, pics, etc, and would like to use the phone's program to format the sd card, to get rid of all the unnecessary files and folders. I know I have to reload the theme folders, but my question is:
If I format the SD card via the phone, will all the necessary files/folders be left that are needed for CWM and or ?? I am not worried about apps, as I can reload them. I am concerned about files or programs placed there by odin or cwm for modding.
Try formatting before you flash. The rom install will put all the necessary folders in place on the card.

Now that would be the easy way...lol.
Once I got the device where I wanted it...I just wanted to clean up the sd card. I went ahead and unmounted it, then formated it via the phone. It got rid of everything except what android needed. It did not affect the boot as those programs were placed internal on the phone. After the format, I copied back my music, video's, pics, etc. All is good.
I would have liked to try humble 2.2...but it was removed. Did you try gummychargedgbe1.5. it is very smooth. I themed it with black alien. Boots fast, all seems to work.
Hi all,
How do I clean my internal sd card? I recently rerooted. I followed the steps where it is said to delete Dalvic cache 3 times etc etc before flashing the new rom.
I still have old apps/folders on my internal sd card before I rerooted. I backed up my stock rom before I rerooted.
I am now on this rom ([ROM][12-7]TPC v3 2.3.5 | Da_G OC Kernel | IMG Flash | ATT | Rogers |)...... I also backed this rom up and applications.
I have 9.1 GB with 2.2 GB free. I'm running a bit low in my opinion because I still do not have any music, movies, or pictures on my phone. I do however have about 100 apps, 10 of which are HD games. Is the 9.1 GB reasonable?
I do see some old apps on the sd card though. Is there a quick way to delete them all or do I need to go down 1 by 1 and check every crevice of my internal card?
I'm not that concerned about it, since I will eventually get a 32 gig external sd card, but I want my phone as clean and efficient as possible.
Once again,
thanks for everyone's help.

/data and /cache and /dalvik cache have nothing to do at all with the sdcard, internal or external.
Settings, mounts and storage (can't remember exact wording) unmount and format USB storage
That will wipe everything off the internal SD.

k so once i format the sd card storage, it will clean everything out and then I can just use rom toolbox and restore my latest backup with the apps I actually want on it?
thanks.
Once u format ur internal ur going to lose everything. Make sure to copy ur back up to ur external or a PC. That's if you have ur back up in internal. Do titanium back so you will have ur apps and system data.

This! Titanium is the way to go.
Once you have your backup safely on a PC, you can also do it by going in to Settings/Privacy/Factory Data Reset, and if you check Format USB Storage it will clear everything off your phone (not sure if you're looking to do that--that would be all your pictures/videos/music--but these files can be large, especially video files)
I backed up my apps and settings, I do not have an external sd card though. When I connected my phone to the computer over wifi, using that aires application (forgot name). I copied the backup folder and pasted it on my computer. It stopped around 20% of the way through because I guess the phone was using some files.
Is there a way to copy to pc from internal sd card? Or should I just go out and buy the external sd card? thanks
I used rom toolbox pro to backup. Some reason I get errors with the lite version that came with the Da_g rom.
So my main goal should be copying that Backup_data folder that was created from the app and reloading that up after I delete the stuff in the internal storage.

Kies is the name of the program (I haven't used it much personally).
I'm not familiar with Rom Toolbox, but assuming that it works the same as Titanium it should be placing your backup on your usb storage, which you can access just by plugging in to pc and opening the drive.
I just wiped my sd card and usb storage and restored everything with the Titanium and cwm folders that I placed on my mac (screen shot attached), and then brought back on to my phone when I was ready.
Yes, when I tried backing up the back up folder rom toolbox mde for me, my computer stopped copying the folder around 20% of the way and gave me an error message (The destination you have specified does not exist, It might be offline network location or an empty CD or DVD drive. Check the location and try again. .comgameloft.android.GAND.GLoftSD3H.apk, type: apk, size 4.13 mb, Date modified: 2/8/2012 11:20 pm.). It gave me the choice to try again, skip, or cancel (I just cancelled the entire thing).

Have you tried selecting the backup on your phone & then just copying it to a file on your p.c.? Just make a file on your desk top
If you use kies you can "see" the SD card on your phone from your p.c. Once you have an external card it comes in handy since you can see both

EDIT: Oh, you're saying Kies froze up trying to back it up. I'm saying don't use Kies, just copy the folder to your desktop.
Yea for some reason I can't see the root files on my phone. I googled this android commander program that lets you connect your phone to your pc enabling you to see all the hidden files. That samsung program is more like just syncing contacts type of thing. I was even able to copy my backs to my pc in like 3 mins. Deleting my internal sd card now.
USER'S GUIDE FOR DUMMIES AND NOT ONLY...
Here you can find how you can install, tune and use the custom ROM and KERNEL. And some info about some hide out question...:highfive:
Links to apps, rom, CWM added!
1. Format SD card class 10 or higher (U1) (because of quick access, higher number means quicker SD CARD) in your PC or MAC at 2 or 3 partitions with this program:Partition Manager
Here exactly HOW-TO: FAT 32 and EXT4 partition.
As you can see, we will prepare SD CARD for future using with program LINK2SD. Here is to why and where for: LINK2SD
2. When your SD CARD will be ready, copy any custom rom you wish. Aha, almost forgot it. We assuming that our device is Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) but this guide should work on any type of Android Device.
3. After copying custom rom on the preformated SD CARD, copy the recovery. The best one is:HighOnAndroid (CWM)
4. O.K. Now is time to flash recovery and then restart device.
5. Now we flash ROM (almost every custom ROM has been rooted) Wipe cache, System, Dalvik Cache and in CWM choose option Instal ZIP from SD CARD (where we have our ROM) in my case that was Android Revolution HD 11.2 Lin is here
6. Reboot system. Instal apps whatever you want LINK2SD mainly.
7. Now is time to copy Boeffla Kernel to your ext. SD CARD.
8. Reboot device to CWM, choose Install from SD CARD, install Boeffla Kernel, reboot device.
9. Download apk called Boeffla Config v2 and use it for setting your Boeffla Kernel.
10. My Boeffla settings: Power Extreme, MDNIE 1, Scenario 1. Boeffla Sound -Miscellaneous: Speaker tuning ON, Privacy mode ON
(after then when you connect your earphones to Device, internal speaker will turn OFF, it's bug in Samsung's ROM, because even you connect earphones speakers still plays.Miscellaneous tab = Modules enabled which one you want.
And then reboot, use your "pet" (device) as much as you can! Try Antutu, try stability test etc. etc.
I hope that you try this guide and your "pet" will so happy as I was, I'm and I will
And If you will back to LINK2SD you will see that your partitions is format as well as you want!
All apps will be install to your SD CARD, to EXT4 exactly said. So your internal NAND and memory will be free and clean.
Only System and Data will you got onto your internal memory. And one more thing: :angel:If you don't made backup, please, make backup your EFS folder !!!! Your EFS folder is most important folder in your device.
Everything you can repair, but when you delete or anything else damage your EFS folder you can realy physicaly damage your device.
See this: EFS Issues.
In this folder you have all important information like a IMEI, WIFI address, your Carrier and so on...
Without this will be your device very expensive coffee pad only!:crying:
I've been in this hell-like situation and without Linux and Android knowledge I should be without my "pet"...
Bye for now and again thanks to Andi for Boeffla Kernel and others developer:
(Zedomax for CWM Recovery, Mike1986. for his Android Revolution ROM, Bulent Akpinar for LINK2SD, Kalagas for great themes)
Peter from Czech republic :highfive:
P.S. If you got some question about any from this guide, ask me. Everything has been 1000x tried and said. But here you got 10 in 1
