htc hd2 video converter - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I have an external hard drive with a bunch of movies. i want to put some on my htc hd2.
anyone know of a good video converter to use?

AVS
I use AVS Video converter 6. In there I convert to MP4 using the Epsom Best Quality MPEG4 720x480 preset. It works really well. All you need to do is call to the file in explorer and click and it will play in full screen. I know the resolution isn't exactly perfect but you can't tell by looking at it.

Format Factory is very good program for this. I'm using this for my iphone 3gs and hd2 both.

i advocate mediacoder. (mediacoderhq.com/dlfull.htm) it's an opensource video format converter. i've attached two config files you can use to convert it to your phone's specs. one is for standard videos, and the next for youtube videos (they tend to be a bit quirky).
anyway, once you've opened mediacoder, go to file>load preset and import the unzipped xml files.

XMedia Recode is the best free converter for the HD2 hands down, at least in my opinion.

Mp4ForHD
I use this one:

works great !

and in mine too. Try it, youllloveit

TCPMP
Use TCPMP 0.72RC1 and You don't need to convert anything.

I use FormatFactory for anything that TCPMP-0.72RC2-ARM-WM6-Latest can't decode. It doesn't get any easier than that.

ErightSoft Super. 100% free.

I use DVD Soft... Its a freeware and it has software especially for HTC's...

WMV plugin for WMP

A lot of movies are coming out with digital copies & they are all in WMV format but our players don't support it.
I tried searching but all I found was the plugin for TCPMP, which didn't work too well. Anyway I would like to know if there is a plugin for WMP on our phones? I have a few of these digital copies & I would like to put them on my storage card for those boring days at work. If anyone has a plugin or a solution, I would really appreciate it.
Where are the movies?? Anyways, CorePlayer should play them, about $25 directly from CoreCodec, which should be cheap for you judging by your avatar !
What are you talking about? Windows Media Player plays WMV files. it's already on your phone.

Talking about certain codecs not included in WMP, so you need a different player. Most videos can't be played through WMP.
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to not have to buy anything new but you gotta do what you gotta do. Anyway, a new question... if I buy this coreplayer will it do everything tcpmp does or do I have to keep tcpmp on my Kaiser?
As far as the movies... I have Juno & AVPr right now but a lot of movies come with an extra disc right now that you can download it from... Look for it on the cover, it says digital copy right on it

Cool, I have to check out my friend's DVD collection . Anyways, CorePlayer does all the main functions of TCPMP, but a bit better, and I personally like the looks of it better. It has the YouTube function built-in, but currently you have a limited number of results, so if your looking for a specific video, you must type a lot. I use CorePlayer as my main video player, and still keep TCPMP with the FLV bundle to watch video directly from the web.

Sweet I been reading up on it since you suggested it & I'm sold on it now. Thanks I hope it plays these movies. I'll let you know as soon as I got it all set up
WACK!!! Same thing as tcpmp... Granted, it looks better but its the same outcome. The video will start but it won't play. It starts loading & then it stays like that forever. Occassionally it plays a clip of the sound but only a fraction of a second
Any tips for the settings to change Champ?

video conversion?!

And for starters; get a decent player first... WMP is great for music, but horrible for Video... I'd recommend CorePlayer. And then code your movies to DIVX like already suggested
Absolutely!!! Good catch Moaske
I love CorePlayer 1.2.5, makes a huge difference on my TyTN II!
If you dont want to go the paying money route (or the piracy route) the Core Player guys also have a more stripped down and less optimized but free player called TCPMP, look out for that
Magic Video Converter 8 is what i use, converts anything to anything just about. Even converts to Flash Video!
yeah im looking for a high quality app, used pocket divx encoder, it was ok, and spb mobile dvd, and thats ok, but can't up the settings to increase the quality as much as id like to.
currently for vid files i sometimes don't convert and throw the whole file on there
I cant get the TCPMP to work on my phone...

Video player

Hello
I got my Topaz for some time now, but i am wondering wheter i can use the video player from the "photos and videos" tab for everything.
I just can use it for selfmade videos and the sample which was on the phone.
I just like the design, thats why i am asking.
i tested coreplayer and vlc but both of them were really laggy.
windows mediaplayer is simply ugly.
Is there any way for using this player?
Jenson
Simply convert your video to mp4 format and your set. I recommend DVD Catalyst 3 it cost only about 10$ and can convert almost any format ready to play on your topaz. There are predefined settings for almost all devices and the list gets updated.
ok thats simple
I will try that out.
thanks for your help.
Jenson
You shouldn't have to pay for an app. Here's one originally from the Touch HD forum:

thank you for the hint

Putting Movies on Nexus One and Good Video Player?

Im curious what methods you guys use to take a DVD and turn it into a playable video on your Nexus One, start to finish. Please be sure to include all steps and links to any and all software you use.
Also, any opinions on the best video players for the Nexus One?
Thanks!
Doubletwist.
Download the Windows software on your computer.
It will sync with your phone, and convert divx and such videos for you.
You basically Sync, pick the video, it does the rest. Takes a LoNG LONg time.
Video Player by jeff Hamilton is a good video player. very simple.
nemo Player also works. The apk is floating around this specific forum.
OK I tried to post but my post had links and since I'm a new member I can't post links. anyhow PM me and I can try to send you the links there
I use Any DVD Converter http://www.any-dvd-converter.com/
Has a Nexus One setting to get full screen videos (800 x 480)
The OP said DVD to Nexus One and doubleTwist doesn't do DVD to N1 (Unless its been updated?)
You simple put in your DVD press Load DVD in the program and select the video/s you want and press convert Pretty fast on my Quad-core/4GB so speed will depend on your PC spec.
I use handbrake to convert my videos. opensource and fast
I agree. Handbrake is the bomb! It's fast and cross-platform. I just select the iPod/Iphone profile when converting and the videos come out really well on my Nexus.

Use CorePlayer, TCPMP or the old TouchHD-Converting Programm (very basic and very good for making MP4s with the optimum quality for 800x480)
Very stupid questions, sorry cos im gona say that, but u can use Core player or TCMP so u can watch every DIVX movie without problems, most of DIVX i watch on my hd2 without need of resizing.

quality.
Why bother watching in high def if you can watch on normal def?
why watch in colour if you can watch in black and white?
why bother buying a hd2 if you can make phone calls from a public phone box?
I have tcmp and pocket divx. Very impressed. No problems with size of sound. Have not tried core player. Stuck iron man into a rar and was only 700mb. Very crisp.
I think he is asking for a site where he can download movies from.
lmao
the funniest thread ever!
lol - there's some rude kids in here isn't there!
You dont need to convert them anyway, buy a 16gb card and get core player.
Works perfectly here on my HD2
I just wanna know if core player can play .rmvb video ?
It's very annoying to convert it as other format can be played directly without
conversions.
Thx to anyone who can help me.
@cmchan,
Have you tried to call MPAA? they should have a full list of the available links
So does anyone knows which app can play .rmvb files ?

On HD2, there isn't a single app that can play rmvb decently.
