EDIT: Updated 5/26/10 with new version supporting any Sprint 2.1 official release that has been deodexed. See Here for download.
By popular demand, I decided to take a look at the HtcDialer.apk today to see how easy it might be to disable haptic feedback while dialing a number. Turns out, it was a 5 minute job
Should work on both the latest DC and Fresh 2.1 ROMs.
Flash the attached signed zip if you prefer to disable the haptic feedback "feature". Always Nandroid before flashing. It could bork your system, but it seems to be working fine for me. YMMV.
No Haptic Feedback Dialer
Note: This will change you back to the stock dialer format.
EDIT: Here is a no haptic feedback dialer with black buttons

If u did the OTA 1.5 MR update a while back then trust me ur stock dialer(not one from the market) will vibrate when u touch a key nd turning off haptic feedback kills everything else but the dialer feedback.

Your best bet is to open your old APK and the new APK in the zip I posted, and drag the classes.dex file out of my new one and into your old one and push back to your phone.

I am very limited with free time right now I just wanted to get something out for you too use and I am aware of whats missing and whats not themed but i am open to change so if you feel something could be better please give me your feedback. WHEN I feel I have themed enough and its ready it will be posted on the android market for ease of updates.

Download Optional Metamorph zip for blue progress bars and one image for the ROTARY lockscreen
Please be aware that morphing puts the files/images on the phone and into your ROM and the only way to remove them is to reflash CM7 or restoring a previous NANDROID BACKUP. Without this morph your progress bars will be ugly yellow there is nothing i can do about this since the theme engine doesn't cover everything right now so this is the way it has to be done and i suggest doing a NANDROID BACKUP before you apply it just to be safe and to easily go back to your original setup should you stop using the theme.

Thank you both for the warm welcome I was jealous for a while about the nexus getting its own section so i'm happy to be able to post in the actual phone's theme section again thank you guys for using it.
On another note here is the themed modded launcher made by arctu its not fully themed the extra window dots on the bottom are gonna be brighter till i get to them but its a start im gonna leave it optional for now i know most of u know how to install it but for those of you that don't read the instructions on this page and download my themed one here I'll add it to the op as well.
Hi, I need help. After I flashed the zip file, I got launchr2 force close screen after I unlock the 1st screen. So I can't go into my phone right now.
Before I applied ur zip, already have the latest cm5 and 7 screen launcher 2 installed.
Update : I had figured out how to solve my prob already.
Another question, how can revert back to original theme?
hmm, think i have same problem as poster above. constantly get force closes on com.android.phone after unlocking screen. i just got the theme, not the launcher2 version
edit: when i flash back to my previous theme (nexdeep), everything is fine again. the icons looked cool though anybody have any ideas what would cause the constant FCs? i can't even really do anything on the phone after unlocking since every time i close the window, it just pops right back up. CM5.0.4.1-N1

I've tested this for the last 2 days prior to releasing never had a fc once if you can get me a log of the fc that would be great the only thing i can suggest is flash cy's rom and the gapps passion zip again to get rid of the theme and try again.

its not so serious i needed to go that far, i just flashed a different theme and everything is fine i would like to try to get this one working though. i will see if i can get you a log
If your flashing mine over a different theme there maybe something left over from the last theme so next time you try try from a fresh install of cm and the gapps so i know for sure there's nothing from the last theme bugging out or if it is mine for sure.

Attached are a few modified Rosie.apk files for remapping the bottom sense launcher buttons / functionality.
EDIT: Updated 5/25/10 with new versions supporting Fresh 2.1.2. See Here for downloads.
EDIT: This post revised on 5/8/2009, reflecting the fixed version. Some of the posts/comments that follow are referring to the older (original) version and no longer apply.
The first attachment (RosieMT3G.apk) moves the phone launcher button to the left, the app drawer, with fully functioning up/down (open/close) arrows, to the middle, and replaces the 'add shortcut' button on the right with an 'open contacts' button, similar to the functionality found in Zenulator's MyTouch 3G ROM.
The second attachment simply removes the left / right buttons, leaving you with a center only button for opening / closing the app drawer.
This will NOT modify your launcher graphics (in the first example espresso & second example a custom droid style launcher), as this is controlled in com.htc.resources.apk, however, it will switch out the icons (as shown), on your current Rosie / launcher, null out the 'Phone' text, center the launcher icon, and of course, remap the buttons.
What this does/will give you is the entire sense experience, but with a more 'Vanilla' launcher like functionality. For some, the best of both worlds.
Known Bugs:
None currently!
Push the desired apk to your phone's '/system/app' directory, or drop on your sd card and click to install.
You may want to backup your existing Rosie.apk, should you wish to return to stock.

EDIT: For rosies modified with LWP support, see here.
EDIT 2: If you are designing a custom rosie using a concept / look similar to the stock HTC 3-button rosie, see here for an alternative XML file to replace in any of the attached apk files, to adjust the spacing used between buttons.
NOTE: After downloading your desired apk, rename to 'Rosie.apk' before pushing to your phone.
I decompiled Rosie yesterday and found a few .smali's to play with, but I got lazy. LOL Which ones are you looking at?
Edit, another suggestion would be downloading Zen's My Touch rom and rip apart Rosie from there. I loaded it up last night, but the 100% always on was killing my battery.

Yea, it's much easier to edit our existing rosie than to port over a different one using a newer/modified framework.
I was/am all other the place on this mod, but mostly working in 'launcher.smali' and 'Launcher$ButtonListener.smali', in addition to some XML edits.

I took a look at it, the framework is very different. Almost like apples and oranges. The bug is more related to the way I "hacked" it to work more than anything else.
Thanks for getting this working, now i can use the theme i made for zens rom the first day it came out, cus i really liked how it just looked cleaner, and the button mapping makes more sense logically. Thanks again.

I updated the first post.
you can still use it but when you scroll the letters are out of order.
And to answer your question, no. we need the htc dailer and people app for their core fuctionality but you can set defaults to use the aosp stuff.
Darchdroid has the full AOSP dailer and I love it. I hate the htc dailer.
This will not install on my CDMA Hero.
During installation it throws this error "Application not installed"
Any idea?
copy it to /system/app/ directory and restart
This would be so cool. But when I hit my hardware phone button, or the phone button in Sence, it brings up recent calls and not that dialer. Any fix?

Never mind, it did install I am booting now. I will let you know how it goes
So I am not a big fan of the stock Droid X lockscreen, however I do like the regular Vanilla Lockscreen. Over on XDA I found some dark vanilla lockscreen sliders and decided to mod them for my Droid X.
As of right now I haven’t added a vibrate icon with the right slider. Sliding from right to left will either turn sound on, or turn on vibrate mode. Also they are only supported in portrait mode.
Also I am not responsible for any and all damage this may do to your phone/device, neither is wjddesigns.com.
Also please bear in mind I am not a themer or a dev, just sharing something.I use for my own personal device.
UPDATE 10/11/2010
Now with easy Metamorph Installation!

Best theme around Galaxy S!!! Credit to drod2169 for his rubiX ROMs. Credit to P3droid & Team Black Hat for Tranquility and Froyo Leaks.
MrDanger for Metamorph theme package.

Yeah, this is pretty slick. I love the mod but unfortunately, whether I try to flash this before or after a theme (like you said in the OP) I lose part of the theme (or statusbar mod) I'm running. They (framework mods) seem to overwrite each other.
Very cool mod though.
Yeah its a pain ...if u tell me or link me to the theme you are using I can add it to that framework-res.apk for you..
OP,
You should upload the lockscreen buttons as a metamorph theme... that way, it will only replace the lockscreen on a persons Droid X, no matter what theme they have.
I can do it for ya if you want.

amazing. i applied the metamorph, and there is now almost 0 lag when unlocking. seems almost impossible that the stock images were causing the lag before. placebo effect, perhaps?

Lmao...yeah it reverts to stock while in landscape...which really only happens when using cardock...
These were made by me. I had to actually kinda make them (Even though HTC made them), the lock, and several other things I had to manually put on the image, but I think it turned out nice. I'm excited that you liked them. I was going to package them up, but I had no idea if the leaked framework apk would work on stock. Again awesome work, and thanks.
Oh, and if sounded rude with my starting sentence, I was wasn't trying too.

Instructions
You need a custom recovery this is no longer a stock OTA.
Wipe first is always a safe bet.
Make Backups not a good idea to rely on one that's been rolling around in your trunk a while.
Flash from recovery.
When setting up the phone you will have a couple of reboots when opening certain apps for the first time don't worry it only does it once or twice.
I have enabled JIT on mine playing around if anybody else would like to try it flash the enabler.zip to turn on and the off.zip to well turn off.
JIT-Enable
JIT-Off
Some peeps have been asking about speed and battery with this ROM, here are some benchmarks.
Version 1.3 is live!
DOWNLOAD
Not everyone is in a position to donate but everyone is in a position to hit the THANKS button.
I've been using the other themed one, but I'll give this a try and report back as soon as I get back to my notebook. The blue theme looks great.

Looks pretty good from the screenies, downloading now. This probably would also work for the 32B users with the 1.33.0013/1.33.0013d SPL's and the 2825 radio. Someone could be a guinea pig!
EDIT: OK, so first impression is really nice work. Couple of suggestions though. Could you change the background for the text messaging app to black with white text? I just think it would go along with the theme a little better. Also, what about changing the color scheme for the power widget to match? Outside of that, looks really good with my wallpaper.
Not having much luck with these screenshots I'm trying to put up so I attatched some more.
No I haven't but I'll check it out. I'm not sure, but I'm almost positive your going to have to remove the Swype.apk, forgot to mention that in my last post. I'll check out 1.2 when you get it up or I might wait for 1.3. Hmmm...I didn't even notice the background around them until you said something.

You know what there are ROMs all over XDA with Swpe and nobody says anything. The way I look at it is it came in there this only works on a phone that came with it pre-installed it's no different than it being in the sappimg. It doesn't even work if you pull it out of this build. It won't work if you change anything. ROM , phone , hell build.prop doesn't tell it what phone it is Java does so nobody can make it universally working it only works on the phone it came pre-installed on. i am not distributing a hacked apk in any way.
Version 1.2 is live shouldn't need to wipe if coming from 1.1.
Add the phone icon in the dialer and the phone icon in the notification bar during a call. You've like given me a license to kill, except its to nitpick your ROM....kinda the same right? The text for when your downloading something is showing up black in the notification bar as well.

I'll get the text for downloads in 1.3. Which icon in the dialer? I know about the green one that shows up what is the other one you referred to?
The actual call button in the dialer. Bottom middle.

Okay here's the power widget I just made it more transparent and turned the green blue. Version 1.3 is loading up now. Oh and the download text is fixed also.
The dialer I want to do something different to when I get a chance. It will be nice.
Sweet, I'll grab it when you get it up and the link updated.

Your progress bar won't be right it will be a spinner stretched out like a bar. Just for the notification downloads you won't see it unless you pull the notifications down.
Gotcha. Just got 1.3 flashed and I'm loving the mods to the power widget.

Great. So that's what you had in mind huh.
Precisely what I had in mind, I just didn't know it until you made the changes. I hope I'm not the only one using this? Anyone who is pleased with the update would love having this moded one. I really wish I knew how to cook to get in there and give you a hand with theming it and maybe tweaking it a little, but alas I am ignorant of the ways.

LOL you aren't the only one it shows about 40 or 50 downloads. Don't know why I don't have 50 thanks but I have the downloads. I just looked at my downloads and my green gingerbread theme is at 700 downloads that's more than double the blue one might offer this in stock green also.

THANK YOU.
I have a question though. Do I need to rename the zip file to "update.zip", or can I just flash it as is?
This is an excellent themed rom.
I have some problems with it, however. My home, search, and call buttons don't work. In addition, there is no lockscreen. I'm gonna try reverting back to 1.6, and reflashing to see if it corrects these problems. If it does, then we can help anyone else with the same problem set. More info soon.
