[APP REQ] Browse hidden folder images like gallery - Nexus One Themes and Apps

I know some of you may find this request pointless...but as I have alottt of folders from my previous phone containing pictures which i dont want to be shown in my gallery, i really need a software that can browse images in the hidden folders (e.g .images) with pinch zoom and swipe feature. Ive used astro image viewer from astro file manager. It does the half job. The problem is that it cant zoom in or out of pictures .
So if there is any software u can recommend me for this, plz let me know
THANKS

Try some market apps... examples, Pandora Gallery, Gallery Private, File Cover

i use astro file manager and i can zoom just fine on my por....i mean private pictures
if u want close ups of the girls, just cut the picture to fit the screen and you'll be fine

loll firstly its not por...
n i know u can zoom in and out using astro but if u use the gallery app to open images in hidden folders then u cant swipe and change pics wich is a pain in da ass.
@craigacgomes: tried a few and they ask u to select each image to hide not folder management like in a file explorer. I av about 3-4000 pics in those folders hehe

gallery private is no longer in the android market, but it's the best.
read my post here for gallery private: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9276261#post9276261
gallery private is great. it encrypts your photos in case you lose your phone. it's the best privacy app i've used

now that i can carry thousands of my photos with me (8GB SD)
i realize that HTC Album gets crowded with sub-folders/albums
most are sub-folders with my photos and i guess i have to live with that

Here is a cab version of HTC album that gives you the option of what folder you view everytime you open it! You can just install it over the one you have! I dont know if this is what you had in mind, but hope it helps!

i appreciate your response, i did know about setting a default start-up album
but even when a default is set when you select to browse to a different folder
you get a list full of unrelated/un-wanted folders
especially any folder with images on the \storage card
\windows and \program files do not show up,
so i was wondering how to hide others that i may not want to see listed

Where are camera pictures stored? (Alltel Touch pro)

Where are 'Camera' pictures stored. I looked in My Pctures in both
storage and card. Can it be configured?
I see the picture in camera app but can'r find it
with resco explorer or when attached with explore
(Active Sync).
At the screen that you are taking the picture there must be an icon (I think something like a cogwheel). If you press it you will see a submenu with some tabs. If i remember well at the first tab you will find the choice of where to save your pictures.
PS: Are you sure that when you are taking a picture then you save it? Or at the preview you are just exiting the app?

picture folder widget

Would love to get one that I could set on a sceen to take me to the picture folder I want to view..
and or the folder where I have video's..
I want to use it for meetings.. so when I go in to one and show pictures of our production, I dont have to go in to Gallary and
let everyone see whats in there..
What would be perfect is a full screen of this widgets linking me to the sub-directries that I have setup with different artwork of different Clients..
I have been looking at different wiget programs but none have this ability as yet, well not that I have worked out..
Anyone found one or got any tips on this?

One option is to have a shortcut Folder set on your screen that launches a file manager and takes you directly to that folder.
The free app ES File Explorer will allow you to create a shortcut.
1. Install ES File Explorer.
2. Open the app and navigate to the folder you want to create as a shortcut.
3. Press & Hold on the folder, from the menu that pops up select 'Shortcut'.
4. Quit the app and when you go back to the last Home Screen you were on, providing there is enough space you will now notice a new icon with the title of the folder you selected.
From now on whenever you wish to show your clients the material simply click on the folder icon on your Home Screen and it will take you directly to ES File Explorer the folder with all the contents shown.
This last bit is important......
When you select the first item you will notice a small window will pop up asking you if you wish to choose ES File Explorer or the Gallery app to display your material... Choose ES File Explorer.
The reason is if you choose Gallery it will only display that one single item and you have to go back to ES File Explorer to show the next and so on....
By instead choosing ES File Explorer as the method to display the material it instead shows you not only the material but as the bottom you will also notice a small thumbnail of each of the pictures.
To display a different picture either swipe left/right or tap on the thumbnail.
Job done....
thanks Beards,
great advice..
I am using it plus Android picture frame.. that lets me set up 4 3x3 widgets that load into the file system as well..
plus yours.. gives me a neat screen of fast get too's for client visits..
which in my case can be up to 6-8 in a big day..
