extracted or in zip format?
leave it in zip format
now comes back ... after cd/sdcard
"not found"
Go here.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443713 Download from where it says "here" Leave it in zip format name it update.zip and place it on ur storage card n try again
clearly it is not seeing the card let alone the file correct.. but when i plug in the usb to the lap top or use the card holder for the micro on the laptop it sees the laptop sees all the files on the card...
by the way if it is at least at the point of trying to find the card in the terminal emmulator am i at root.... i know this might sound like a stupid question but then again.. look at the number of posts i have...
thanks for your help
at this point it is the principal to accomplish this.... hours working on this and going strong..
trying your update file... while doing that i have a question again..
does it matter that this phone is still... rc19
also... i am using my laptop card reader to place files on the card .. i assume that is not an issue..
thank s
Try moving the file to your sdcard with the card in your phone. Meaning, plug your phone into your computer and transfer the file over. Then unplug the phone from the computer and try the update again.
did it and still no luck..
keeps saying... cd/sdcard; not found
i have been at this all day... there must be some easy ansswer to all this pain
it is not seeing the card..
maybe it is the emulator
but when i do the code to see if i have the img going it comes back with a 1
real quick.... r u sure ur sd card is discoverable in ur settings ?
You have the recovery image installed. I said this over at androidcommunity, but I think the problem is with your sdcard...I think a different card may fix your issue.
it looks like it is trying to install from card but cant... when i do the power on and hold the home key and then do alt+l..then alt+s ... i get
a few statements the last is E:cant open / sdcard/update.zip
no such directory
installation aborted..
maybe i should create a file sdcard and place theupdate file in it.?

"DO NOT" create a file !!! it has to be a zip by itself no folder

What he was suggesting was to take the sdcard out and create a dir named sdcard on the phone and stick the update in there...then when he reboots and does the update the phone would pull the file from there...but after thinking about it...the boot.img would erase it upon shutdown..I believe..anyways it wouldn't work that way....

HD2 Android Download problem

Hi All,
I found the HD2 android download from Darkstone and I downloaded all three downloads and tried all three. I followed his directions however I keep on getting the following error,
"Failed to find rootfs on SD Card. You need to unzip a rootfs zip file to the root of your SD Card"
I unzipped all the contents and the RootFS is in the files so I am not sure why its not finding it and I am getting this error
I would normally search the Thread to find this but the thread is about 300 pages long. If someone has obtained this error before please help me out.
Thanks for all help or sending me in the right direction.
Joey

Help with rootfs on sd card

Hi guys new to this loaded the android rom onto my hd2 htc works great but when i restart it keeps coming up with failed to find rootfs on sd card. You need to unzip a rootfs zip file pls help
pls in simple instructions as i am new to this thanks guys
I had the same problem...
I was reading some posts and saw some people saying to delete the "Android" folder that is automatically created by the Android OS.
I decided that if that worked, then during boot sequence it must look in the "Android" folder for the rootfs file, I copied all the Android files from my sd card root to the "Android" folder, having the all the files in both locations (sd card root and Andoid folder). After i did that it booted fine. Deleting the folder is great if it works, but then you are not able to use a dual boot program if you must delete the folder each time because it is created again.
Anyways...it worked for me, so good luck!

cifs manager help : empty directory

I'm having a very specific problem with cifs manager.
When I mount a CD drive, I can access all root files and see all directories, but all those directories are empty.
I have this same problem when I share a CD drive in 2 Different xp machines, but, No problems in Windows 7.
I tried sharing and mounting the individual folders, but they were still empty. If I moved those same folders to my harddrive and shared, then it works.
From my Android tablet, I am able to browse and open those missing files in Es explorer.
But what I really want to do is mount those files. (I also tired Mount Manager, didn’t work at all)
Anyone know what the problem might be?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

[Completed] Help Convert TNTpipo.img into and ext sd installable file/zip

Hello, i need a bit of help, ive got my original .img file from TNT.
i had windows when i installed it first time, i have Linux mint 17 now .
i tried with neighbors win 7 machine but i can tget the tablet recoged by any means, i think the usb port is buggered up
nothing works.
any way i can install from external sd card, is there any way to mod the img to install from sd card similar to the Decontaminatv3.1.zip
iv installed tnt software and can mount the system folder have a copy of it converted to ext4(was a real pain)
decontam just gets renamed to install.zip and goes right in, just wish there was a linux based converter that didnt require an enlarged brain to operate
put img file in folder
start app
press button to convert .img to install.zip
copy install.zip into sd card
done and happy!!
any body have any ideas?
IMG is a completely different Packing of Source files. Those typically can not be converted into Zip files as their signature is integrated.
Please post Device details so we can help further.
