I have an unlocked Altell Snap 520 I have tried a couple of the roms and they work but the keyboard is laid out slighlty different. any suggestions?

As of today Palm is selling the Treo 750 unlocked in europe, so you don't need a vodafone contract. Now my big question is, will Palm make available the rom on that phone (or an update) so that I have a clean rom on my 750v...

as stated on the palm website, the sale will start the 25th of Feb or something like that....but I think I would go for it earlier if it would be available
Unusually for Vodafone, the 750v has one of the cleanest WM5 ROMS I've seen on any PPC. The only bit of branding I can see is phone startup screen. So i don't think you'll gain much anyway.
I would like this ROM as it has HSDPA active in it. Would be nicer than that hack.

Oops, sorry! not available yet. I jumped the gun as I saw it on the Palm UK webpage.
They should ship it not only with HSDPA active, but also with an updated ROM and some other Palm improvements. For me personally I strongly hope that it will solve my reception problems when I am in roaming. It is a known and confirmed firmware problem.

Is the 500v so different from the 750v that the extended rom unlock utility does not work? I have run the Chee_Extrom_unlocker but all I get is "Inserkey failed!". I know its still a fairly new phone but has anyone picked this up and had a play? So far all I know is they come sim unlocked by default.

I've got both a 750v and a 500v and they are quite different. The 500v is a Windows Mobile 6 Standard device, the 750v a Professonal one. Moreover the 500v has been very heavily customized by Vodafone since they had a bigger hand in its development than they did with the 750v, I believe.
I know this is over a year later but just picked up a Rogers unlocked Lumia 1020.
Mainly to use as a phone when travelling or when wanting something with good camera.
Like it so far.
Question I have is I noticed that there are slightly newer software versions out from different carriers still with RM-877.
Is there any value in getting the tools and flashing them over what I have?
I have uninstalled the Rogers bloatware apps and not really heavily branded otherwise as it only shows it is a Rogers device in the about screen.
Advice?

I have occasion to buy one as cheap backup/secondary phone, but what are differences between S522, S521 and S520 version? I know one of differences is that but I don't know which of them has no Wi-Fi? Which are GSM and CDMA.
I just bought 2 LG Nexus 5 phones on ebay. They were _silly_ cheap (AU$165, around US$120). I didn't really even expect them to work!
In Australia we normally would use the D821 version; however, I read you can [unlock Band 3 for the 820](http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/radio-enable-lte-band-3-nexus-5-d820-t2928561) . So I thought... why not?
The _weird_ thing is on the packaging of the phones. Check them out! One says "D820 GSM 900/1800/1900", the other one says "D820 GSM 850/900/1800/1900" (!). The one with the missing "850" had a much much older version of Android (4.0.1 I think) before upgrading (jumping to version 5, then version 6).
There are other slight differences. In the "newer" model (the one that came with Android 5, and has 820), in the camera app you can swap camera and video by swiping, whereas the other phone won't allow that, and will allow you to switch by swiping to get the menu and then selecting camera.
Even though they are both updated to the latest models, the info screen has slightly different kernels.
I *suspect* the older version is just one of the very early models.
Questions:
* Can I update both to unlock band 3?
* Can you work out why they are different?
