Rooting Rogers HTC dream... after installing 911 update - G1 Android Development

Hey I have an HTC dream that I already updated with the emergency 911 update. I completely reset my phone but I wanted to know if the update still existed after doing the factory reset. If so, is there a way to remove it? Is there a way to check? Thanks for the help!

uh.......what?

There are already open threads about this. Best anyone has done so far is ezterry with a JTAG solution. That should point you in the right search direction.

No doing a factory reset will not erase the updated firmware. You're stuck with it.
Oh and this is the wrong forum for this question.

How to I factory reset?

I tried rooting my Sprint Galaxy SIII and things went wrong so I decided I wanted to completely restart. I wanted the phone to be exactly as it was when I bought it. So after watching all these different tutorials, I've run into a wall. I thought I did it right by install a "factory rom" from some site. Well now my Sprint phone is running on 4.0.1 and is asking for a SIM card. So now I'm here. I just want it to be back to the newest version on the REAL factory default rom. I want everything gone just like it was on day one. Could someone help me with this? Thanks in advanced.

[Q] Software Issue, Help?

Hey fellow xda members! I've had my oneplus for probably a couple of weeks now and have loved it until this issue I'm having since the 4.4.4 update. So, it all started after the update the phone rebooted and I kept getting messages saying unfortunately cm logger has stopped. Same with the calender app which now force closes every time I go to open it. Upon the issues surfacing first thing I try is to uninstall and reinstall updates on the apps for the calendar which didn't resolve this issue so currently I just have it disabled. After that I decided well if I have to I will just do a factory reset. To my surprise I actually am unable to do a factory reset and just says it fails part way in. Hopefully some people around the forum with more cyanogen knowledge than myself can help me out! Ticket is already submitted to customer support but just want to attempt asking here as well in case it is something anyone can help me with. Feel free to leave suggestions to try I am willing to do anything to help it. Thanks a lot!
I found some information over at the OPO forum but no for sure answers. One idea was to unlock the bootloader because it causes an automatic reset since I can not do one from CM Recovery. Anyone feel free to comment on if this would work.
Sincerely,
Jackson
P.S. I am still pretty new to the whole modding of android devices and may not know common practices known by most people on the forum so feel free to add a little more description with a potential fix)

If your phone is acting up and ready to wipe everything ..Just go to settings..back up and reset..It will erase all..like you just bought the phone..Make sure you back up your fules or what not that you need..
Thanks for the reply but my issue is, I actually can't factory reset it because I receive an issue/error whenever I attempt it.

Unlock the bootloader, this will reset the phone like its new again
This will also make things easy if you ever decide to root, and you can also flash twrp recovery
One thing to note, this is important, your SD storage will also be erased, so move any data from it to a PC or Google drive etc.
Bootloader unlock is your best bet, this will help your situation in more ways than one.
There's plenty of guides in one plus forum.

[Completed] [Q] HTC One m7 - Unrooting issues

Hi everyone!
Terribly sorry this is my first post here and im looking for something, been reading through the site for the past few months but never registered.
I recently bought a HTC One M7, updated to 4.4.2 but rooted so i cannot get OEM updates.
It has ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.8 istalled, busybox and SuperSu.
Im trying to unroot it and get it back to factory standard, its not for the warranty that really doesnt matter to me.
I just need some expert guidance if possible and just to be pointed in the right direction would be more then enough as there is so much information to try and retain lol.
I have been browsing through threads but im terrified i end up doing something wrong and bricking my phone.
Im living in Ireland and my phone was supplied by an operator called 'Meteor' so im a bit confused as to what method to take and where to get the exact oem stock software that will enable me to get back and let me update past 4.4.2
If anyone could link me a few threads or help in any way that would point me in the guaranteed right direction would be great, and also any information where i could get the exact file file i need to flash to get it back to stock, i understand the radio etc needs to correspond with my network operator.
Many thanks in advance for this one

Does anyone have G955USQS1AQGL-to-UAQJC, I am sutck on G955USQS1AQGL

Hello,
My phone is stuck on G955USQS1AQGL and won't receive OTA's. I have factory reset and checked with ATT and they have my correct IMEI and don't really know what the issue is. I have looked and found norbarb's post with the file, but it 404's and their account is disabled. If anyone could help or if you can help me with this extremely annoying issue that would be great . Thank you.
Oh and as for how the issue started, I have no idea. Phone has never been rooted or attempted or unlocked. It has been stock the entire time.
