Hi i just bought LG GW550 Smart.
I am having trouble installing various applications which are specially ment for Non Touch Smartphones
If i try to install Fring (fringWinMob.cab) it gives me following error
"Installation of fringWinMob.cab was unsuccessful"
even it is same for Google Apps as well as for Nimbuzz.
Is this something related signing CAB ??? or patching windows mobile so it can install unsigned application CAB?
Plese help me... i am pissed off...

Has anyone of you encountered this error message? "The program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows mobile software".
I encountered this problem when i downgraded my rom from Master Efsane's WM6.5 to 2003se..Before that, the hima doc tool of Masther Ather doesn't work so i tried the other hima doc tools on this site..anyway, i tried flashing my himalaya with different roms but i keep on getting this error message. Right now i couldn't use some applications that are previously working with wm6.5. I already tried to flash different EXTroms but it didn't resolve the issue..this is very frustrating..please advise..
Don't worry. It's just a warning because the developer of the program have design it for a previous version of windows. All the programs that gave me that warning are working without problem .-
Actually, it has nothing to do with the program itself but a version number listed in the CAB file - it's pretty much completely irrelevant, though.
The problem is, i could no longer use the applications that i could previously use on WM6.5...it only happened after downgrading to 2003..don't you guys find it weird???
Any suggestions peeps???

Is there any possibility to install Windows Marketplace for Mobile on non-touchscreen devices? I don't have the Marketplace icon in Start Menu (WinMo 6.5).

On my BenQ E72 the original link worked and then it downloaded a new cab file anyway. Possibly you could get ahold of that if nothing works?

I'm brandnew on this forum, I didn't find anything on this topic....
I just bought an HTC snap and I'm having quite a big problem. Before doing anything I installed the update from WM6.1 to WM6.5 from the HTC homepage...it worked perfectly. After that I installed some other softwares like skype with the exe file, no issues at all and the programs are running good. Then I tried to install some softwares with the cab files; some of them couldn't be installed at all (Resco explorer). With some other softwares the installation could run until the end but with no errors but then if I started the program I got following error (for example for Galarm):
"An unexpected error has occurred in GAlarm.exe"
If you go to details you get this description of the error:
at Microsoft.AGL.Common.MISC.HandleAr()
at Microsoft.WindowsCE.Forms.InputPanel..ctor()
at ay.b4()
at ay..ctor()
at cy.a()
The same error for all program installed with cab files.
It would be great if somebody could help me!!

i downloaded some programs for my htc touch diamond like the hologram throttlelock beer application...
while some of them installed successfully other give me a message saying installation unsuccessful after i click on them.
please help me

It would be useful if you told us what programms didnt install correctly and what rom ur on.

windows mobile 6.1 professional
ce os 5.2.19591 (build 19591.1.1.6)
and the apps are throttle lock, water level, diamond hologram, snowstorm and diamond beer.
Does it give any other error messages, like .net3.5 needs to be installed or anything else like that?
no because i have .net3.5.
i only get instaed of the installation running, installation of throttlelock.cab was unsuccessful
Send me the cab or post link so i can try on mine. Have u installed this before and trying to reinstall it?

I have Samsung B7320 with Windows Mobile 6.1 standard as OS. When I try to install the cab file of Plucker ebook reader it is giving me an error that the application is not meant for this phone. But in many forums I have seen that people have successfully installed plucker on Win mobile 6.1.
Do I have to do any additional setup here?
