Ok, so i have searched high and low for a GBA Landscape skin that supports Multitouch.
So I am wondering if it is possible for someone to create a landscape skin for GBA. And would it be possible for it to be seen over the game and partially transparent similar to FPSece?
If not, just a standard landscape skin would be nice. Unless you have a link to a thread that would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
When you use the HD2 ver from morphgear, every gamepad will support multitouch. But due to the alignment problems of our touchscreen, most of the gamepads will not work properly. And they will always be shown behind the game...
Due to this limitations I decided to develop a generic mt gamepad, which can be used in every app (morphgear, fpsece, etc.) and which hides the auto alignment effect: LMT

You can try out this. Unfortunately there isn't a gba pad, but there is a snes pad which have the buttons on a gba and 2 extra These pads works 100% with multitouch

Search didn't come up with this as a specific topic...
many of our HTC devices have a keyboard.. I'm wondering which games allow use of the keyboard at all (even if its just using arrows vs D-pad), and/or if any games truly take advantage of having a keyboard (ie. can you remap keys in mega-MAME the way you can in desktop versions?)
Edit: presumably this means running in landscape mode (at least for most devices with full kbds)
Thanks,
Mike
recall some fps games maybe it was doom or doom2 which had an onboard keyboard under the fps window
at least some of the emulators too
c64 i recall
I think all games that let you config the keys used to play. Like i use call of duty on my wizard and it works great but i would recommend that you open the keyboard first and then start the game because some games have problems when you open it during play.
I have tried PocketCultMame
http://www.pocketcult.com/home.php
But it is so buggy that it isnt an option for the raphael.
Also tried Pocket Nester for NES.
Nester seems to start the ROMs ok but the key mappings just dont work right.
Anyone got these anything or else to work well?
Curious
I would also like to know if the keyboard works with Pocket Nester. Anyone know?

seems to be a general problem
i have tried all the emulators with virtually no luck at all. Seems none of the keys every work for me
same problem here, it seems that HTC used a different technology to number the keys.
maybe because the touch pro has more buttons than most other devices.
Had same problem with games that use mapping (like worms for ppc, doom 1 & 2, etc), as well as with the DOS emulator.
It's a key mapping problem... when is someone going to create a program to use the capacitive part of the TP as buttons (so we can play and emulate stuff?) :^P
For the moment im playing with the device upsidedown, im using the Up, down, left, right as the D-Pad and strg + shift as A and B button.. not a very practical but it works.. i hope there will be a better solution for this problem..

I use FPSEce 0.9.6 beta and it works with red alert retaliation. The intro video is laggy but once you skip that and get into the game menu, its smooth.
You just rip your psx games to .iso format and copy to the SD card.

Any Updates?
Has there been any progress on this? I really want the Sprint Touch Pro! But if I can't map the keyboard for use with emulators, that would be a deal breaker.
Have you tried FinalBurn?
You can get it from:
http://www.modaco.com/content/smartphone-software-games/247894/finalburn-for-wince-0-014/
FinalBurn emulates CPS1, CPS2 and CPS3 games (including Street Fighter Alpha 3).
However there are several problems:
1. Low FPS during match (other games like XMENVSSTREETFIGHTER are better)
2. Jerky UNPLAYABLE performance with Sound ON.
3. Keyboard can't be mapped
4. Controls mapping issue
The degree to which FPS is impacted is dependant on the game.
This is my experience with the HTC Touch Pro.
I think we need a more optimised FinalBurn version.
Another problem is that the processor has to process 4 times more info for the VGA screen so it will probably work better in QVGA devices.
Unfortunately I've not found a way to adjust in game resolution.
This MAME emulator certainly has potential! Try it!
Here is a great solution for the keyboards issues:

can i ask you what settings you use? already thnx
i googled around for awhile and found a really great and supposedly rare emulator for nes its hard to find in english since its a jap build of nester only problem is games flip upside down in landscape mode but key mapping works great even with out kforraphel.
If someone know how to flip the screen ide really appreciate it since playing with the keyboard on to is pretty wierd.
also anyone have a good gba emulator outhere pocket gba is alright but not perfect...
bump- anyone how to fix the upside down screen in nesterj4u?
Is there a good SNES emulator for the Touch Pro?
I'm particularly interested in one that works in landscape mode and allows mapping of the hardware keyboard.
OOOOPS - just did a search and found other posts on this subject. Please close this.
hi all,
i have spent hours scouring the forums ranging from the classy htc diamond ( which i loved btw) to the experia x1 (which is also cool) trying to find a good emulator for nes/snes games which support touchscreen, wvga, and the tg01's lack of hard buttons.
if anyone has any ideas or links or anything so we can all get a great emu working for the 1ghz hand sized tv screen then brilliant.

dont think im being a console-ist by only asking for nes/snes but the idea of playing ps1 games on this beast with no hard buttons doesnt exactly thrill me to bits, but if you want to share your findings with everyone then feel free

Play Station Emulator good? ^_^
There you go:
http://www.fpsece.net/
Just Google:
PSX /PS1 ISOs to get the games =)
Link for videos:

morphgear is best snes emu but like you say with no buttons or multitouch emus are only really good for rpgs which is fine for me, fpsece is best emu out.
i would have thought we would have fullspeed/sound snes considering you can for psx but you cant.
neway if you get morphgear for hd2 and dreeds mulitouchpad for the best experience for snes, and you have to use the virtual mouse thing (slide finger up over strip bit on tg01) to be able to click on the settings
I guess what we really need is a touchscreen hook that will capture slide events and fire the appropriate cursor keys whilst in specific apps. Is there anything like that already?
wel i had a think about it and we need to make a touch screen keyboard with the typical up, down, left, rihtt and a,b,c buttons and map them to keys such as the wasd configuration. we could invoke the keyboad to pop up with a reg key or something to piggyback on the emu to rocess.
im not a programmer so i have no idea how to make this happen but will help with graphics if anone wants to try.

unless i am misunderstanding what you mean then this is already programed into fpsece and morphgear (using dreeds pad).
eg press circle button and slide finger up = up and circle.
i cant see and better improvements to fake multitouch happening, sorry if ive misunderstood u tho
if this pic come sup then brilliant, this is what i would like personally.
a proper nes pad layout linked to the virtual keypad so i can play pokemon games and such ( please dont mug off pokemon games, for a turn based rpg its pretty good)
there must be a way to link this to an emu
i am willing to help anyone with anything they need to make this work
also....
on a side note, any way to speed up the screen rotation, from what i understand, the os asks the g-sensor what state its in then adjusts accordingly. where as on other phones the g-sensor tells the os what its doing. can we speed up the refresh on this or is it a no go for now?
Just wondering if anyone has got mario rpg on the snes working via morphgear on there phone. For me i can either crash after the opening screens, where u press start to start game, or after a little bit into the game. When it does work it takes about 5 sec's to load each battle, frustrating.
Can i play games FPSCE with this device?

@above not sure but you can just use a dualshock 3
Just parted ways with my E72, and I couldn't live without my SNES emulator. Anyone know of one for the x10?
Just search "snes", "genesis", nes", "gameboy" etc. on the market.
They're there.
But for the x10 there won't be much fun tho: No multitouch: not able to control anything, as most emulators relies on the underlying driver written for multitouch.

You can map the hardware buttons. Every game I've tried so far is completely playable. From obvious reasons I have not tried any fighting games. But for example Super Metroid is very enjoyable to play with the hardware buttons mapped accordingly.
I even made a video when I got my x10 (prolly my second time playing this on my phone so excuse the sloppiness) :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4F7zMIA7u8
So you can see there that it's really not a problem playing emulator games with your x10. Actually I think it's even better than most android phones because of the hardware buttons placed so conveniently.
