Ok... So yesterday, my Sprint (unlocked and flashed to MOBI, a Hawaii based provider) TP2 started crashing, non-stop. I had to reflash my phone about 8 times in the last 24hrs. The odd thing is, i was running Mightyrom for the past 2 months, and no problems at all, and i havent been tinkering with my phone at all... Then yesterday, out of nowhere, it just started erroring and crashing. I tried soft-reseting, but then it would just get stuck on the "Touch Pro 2" splash screen. THEN, I tried hard reseting. All that did was erase everything, get it to boot, then crash again. Can anyone help me out here? I'm completely baffled, not to mention frustrated because I love my phone...
awww, you Rhodium is playing April fools joke on you.

How long did it run before it lost it's mind? If it was more than 2-3 days, you have a bad phone. Flash the stock Sprint ROM back on it and get a warranty replacement.
If it was less than that, go over to the CDMA thread and get TASK29. Run it, reflash your custom ROM and see how it goes.
By the way, you are posting on the GSM thread, I recommend you post your question on the CDMA side.
Russ
whoops...
i coulda sworn that i posted in the cdma section... my bad... thanks for the input though!

Sadly the Senior member that said you were posting in the wrong area was wrong....look at the top of the page.......it will show...
xda-developers > HTC Rhodium: Touch Pro 2, Tilt 2 > Touch Pro2 CDMA
I'm guessing he hadn't had his cup of coffee yet...or something...no harm done...

will the cabs that people made for the 8525 work on the ATT Tilt...like the 10 button commmanager(i read the ATT tilt version doesn't have the 3G button), PTT reasign, HTC Home, etc...
So far they are working on mine. I have had an issue with the device hanging in certain screens now and i'm not sure what is causing this (htchome i think)
yeah upon further review my phone is broken!
used to hang and slow down now it goes into a white screen and wont come back.
kinda mad but confused as to why it happened. i reflashed the att rom and it didnt help. hopefully i can exchange it on tues or wednesday...

so all that happened when you used cabs that were made for the 8525..
I dropped my phone last night for only the second time in my nearly one year ownership, and (I can't confirm if it was right after) since then my WiFi is not working. When i open Comm Mgr the blue loading icon (NRG rom) spins and then nothing happens; the WiFi does not initialize.
Running EnergyROM, tried Leo and Phoenix2, reflashed radio, clean OS install, after customizations, etc. I can't seem to fix the problem, and I am saddened by the fact that I think that the drop somehow killed my WiFi (GPS, cellular radio all work fine). Is it even possible to knock out ONLY the WiFi radio?
Any suggestions, please? Thanks for the help!
try hard resetting or re-flashing a new/the same rom. if it's still a problem, then it's probably a hardware issue
Interesting
I brought my Touch Pro second hand and the wifi has never worked, when I first got the phone I posted something about it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551634
it seems that it is a common hardware fault..
Sorry

Thanks Stuart, that really does infuriate me....Merry Christmas, huh?
Along with yourself, my phone was purchased second hand. Well actually, that's not entirely true; it was new but from an at&t user in the States who upgraded and sold for profit.
Anyone know if there is any recourse with the carrier if it has been under a year, given that I am not the person who purchased the phone?
Thanks,
Chris
Anyone? Please?
Not sure, you can try calling them.
I dropped my fuze in a sink full of water and about a week later my 3G stopped working. My wifi stopped working a long time ago as well.

Well - if you're not using AT&T as your carrier then my guess is that they're not going to do anything for you. What you might try is contacting HTC directly - perhaps it's still under a factory warrenty.

I had that same problem with the mighty rom so im now using the mr.X rom with 2.5 and its perfect so far!
i tried mr. x, as well as a couple others... and i still get the same problem.... it will work fine for a few hours then freeze... then when i reboot, it gets stuck at the tp2 splash screen...
Something went wrong during unlock process? Go back the phones official ROM, and see if it is ok!
Hello people. I searched for info on this issue, but nothing for the Captivate came up. Intermittently I'll wake my phone up and there will be a little circle with a line through it where there should be network info. Anything I try to do with the network pops up a "Not registered on network" (or something like that) message. Usually rebooting the phone will solve the problem, but last weekend after three reboots it was still doing it. I left my house and an hour later checked it and no circle/line icon. This happens every several days, so not a chronic problem yet. Still very annoying. Any solutions? Thanks.
Stock Captivate.
I would consider warranty return if it were me I havent seen or heard of this before your post. good luck.
I have a stock captivate and let's just say I am incredibly disappointed and annoyed with it and at&t in general I'm tired of all the run around and hold up concerning froyo, but this isn't the thread for that.
My phone has been glitchy since the get go. The newest is the issue with "not registered on network". It has happened off and on, but a couple days ago, after I had turned the phone off for the night and back on, the phone screen blanked out while the bottom touch panel stayed lit and everything became totally unresponsive. After several reboots by removing the battery, my screen finally came up again, but so did that little blue circle and line...voila..."not registered on network"
The guy in tech support from at&t tried to help me out. He stayed on the phone with me for over 2 hrs trying to correct the issue, but even after a factory wipe...nada. Lost all my apps, free and purchased... if we would have froyo like promised, all my apps would have been backed up...UGH...
This is actually my third captivate in as many months. My first phone bricked itself after 2 days. No one could ever figure out why. I am waiting on a replacement as we speak. Of course my "new" phone is being replaced with a refurbished one. I hate that considering my current phone was only 3 months old and didn't have a mark on it, but what can I do?
because you don't mention if you're running stock or a custom ROM, I'm going to assume custom ROM. and if you are, then you must have not searched very hard because this is already a semi-known issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864903
it happens to me ANY time I use a modem newer than JK3... when I use UGJK3 or older, no problems... but if I use UGJK4 or newer, random "no service" on the lock screen with the "circle with a line through it" in the notification bar. as of right now (I believe) there's no known issue why some modems fail on only some hardware. I have a batch 1006 and it works fine right up until the UGJK3 modem, while some people seem to have absolutely no issues with modems (even the newest ones like UGJL2 and TLJL3). basically, if you're running a JPY based ROM, flash JK3 and see if that helps... if that doesn't, go back to a stock captivate ROM of some sort with a stock modem so you don't have these issues (never happened to be me on JI6/JJ4)
Try changing ur SIM card. That could solve the issue.
In my case, it is original stock all the way. The SIM card is fine because I switched it into two different at&t phones and had no issues at all. Right now my Captivate is a gloried camera and MP3 player.
I forgot to subscribe to my own stinking thread! I know this is stale now, but here goes.
I'm running stock froyo, rooted. At the time of the original post I was using it completely stock on eclair. Shortly after the post, it stopped happening and haven't had issues since. I still don't know what caused it. Thanks for all the input though.

Happened to me a year or so ago on a different phone. Turned out they were upgrading the tower closest to me with new hardware and were shutting it down intermittently to work on it.
I have done a few searches here and been searching all night. My company is moving from Sprint to Verizon and as our salesforce si out in the field I selected the razr maxx for the battery life.
I got mine yesterday as I am the systems admin and started to play with it. My fault for what happened totally but I'm hoping soemone here can help me.
I installed a Launcher Pro based "HTC Sense" clone, an HTC sense flip clock and the Agile Locker. After this I got the update for 6.5.1-73_SPU-11M1-2, (Im guessing thats right as I took it from the screenshot http://www.xda-developers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Jsh9vl.jpg?139d23 there, but Im fairly certain it was 6.5), The phone totally froze on the Dual core boot screen. It was like that all night as I passed out. When I woke up I foundf out how to hard reset the phone (http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=49625). I then tried to uninnstall the apps but the phone signal and 4g was shut off and the live wallpaper (stock one) was all funky. I decided to factory reset it. I factory reset it but not the memory card.
After all of this its still freezing totally (right after I skipped the verizon remember my contacts stuff) so I got back into it and reset it again.
This is where I am now. I am going to try to set it up again, but if it keeps freezing thats not gonna be good.
On another note, I would LOVE to try ICS on it, but I dunno if thats such a great idea on a phone that seems to be broken despite factory resets.
Im sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area. Please let me know if I should repost or move my post. Thanks in advance for anyones thoughts or help!!!
EDIT: I have factory reset it and its still frozen. I am going to have to return it.
