Cyanogen Mod Complete Duplicate txt messages show on status bar. - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Well I installed the Cyanogen Rom V5.0.5.3 I did a nandroid back installed the Amon_Ra's recovery on the phone also. My next question is how to i install themes? Do i just copy and paste theme on my sd card? and install them by using a file manager?
Thanks
Jason

If you are suppose to flash the theme in recovery just place the file on the root of your sd card and flash it. If it is a morph theme you need to download metamorph from the market and place the theme on the root of your sd card and select the theme in metamorph.
Also make sure the theme is compatible with cyanogen or it will not work.

Are you planning on using a morph?

Well i can use metamorph doesn't matter. If i was to flash it would it be just like how i flashed the google apps in recovery Mod is that what you were saying? Where can i find themes that are compatible for the cyanogen rom? Thanks for the responses.

I am now noticing i have the same text duplicated in the status bar. Is there a fix for that?
Jason

Anybody..?

Lock Screen
I don't mean to hijack this thread, just want to keep the forums clean from similar threads;
but has anyone had any luck making a new lock screen with UOT on infused with AOSP?
Nothing changes when I flash it, even with a manual mount in recovery.
If its not done for you tonight I will give it a shot. UOT always works for me.

Optimus Prime disapproves of this so called Hi-jacking... LOL no its cool. i havent been able to get to work for me. its so disappointing...
Ok here it is!! I did not include the boot animation because I am brand new to Samsung, like 4 days and I don't know where it is located. So if you can let me know where the boot animation is in TouchWiz I will change it! It is Hooolm Hybrid battery, with Hooolm G8 icons. Clear Dalvik Cache, and let me know how it goes!! NAND!!!!!!!! Backup just in case.
If it doesn't flash properly try mounting data and system.

it wont let me download my framework and systemui
You dont download your framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk, those are the files you copy and upload to the kitchen to be cooked. For froyo its just the framework-res.apk
I just did this myself last night and it was really easy.
First, I installed the modified 3e recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091465
Reboot phone then download rom manager from the market and flash the clockwork recovery for the galaxy s i9000. This creates an update.zip file located in /sdcard.
While in rom manager, reboot into recovery and select "reinstall packages", you will need to select "reinstall packages" twice.
Now that your in the modified 3e recovery you will be able to flash the uot file that was cooked for you.
This is the way I did it and had no issues at all.

Big dog Infuse I997 running Infused v2.0.4 Gingerbread, Gingerbread OP kernel
Under the "file upload" tab on uot kitchen website, look for the heading "Select your rom from the kitchen's list, or upload your own files". Choose "system files" and you will be able to upload the appropriate files from your pc for cooking.

Does this work on ifused v2.0
sent from my Infused goodness
Yea it does, it is what I am running it on. If you want to install it just follow these steps.
Make sure you back up your framework-res.apk, systemUI.apk, and twframework-res.apk. Just copy them to your computer, sd card, or whatever you choose. You can find these apk in system/framework folder and the other in system/app folder using root explorer or es explorer. This is just a safety precaution so that you have the original files. I have already installed two different uot kitchen zip files and not had any problems.
Put zip file onto your sd card.
Boot into recovery. (CWM)
Go to advanced- and clear dalvik cache (just in case).
Go back and choose install zip from sd card.
Let it run its course and then choose reboot after it installs.
Why is it say 3g
NightMare Infuse
No idea..it was the icon package I used. It is in there...why it isn't showing up is beyond me. I'll look into it.

Just reflash your current ROM on top of your setup without wiping anything to get back to stock.

I'm a newbie. How to install it? I've just rooted the Note.
Hi there, pls have a look at my screenshot. I do have the number for the battery icon after installing your mod(look at the yellow comment). However, the signal and the G/E/3G/H also changed. Please look the red comment.
Any idea for the changes?

If you have followed ChainfireĀ“s rooting procedure (installation of kernel with CWM in it) per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 you would need just to use CWM program to reboot into ClockWorkMod Recovery and install zip file using "install zip from sdcard" ---- now depends where you have saved the zip file you need to go to "choose zip from sdcard for file saved to external SD Card or "choose zip from internal sdcard" for file saved to your phone (internal) SD card. After the installation is complete "go back" and "reboot system now". that is all mate.

If you used those 3 files extracted from that stock ROM I do not know what happened. Only thing coming up my mind is that some of custom icon are not compatible with SGN but this is really just thought. Similar thing also happened to me (gone status bar) but in my case I installed mod intended for different ROM. Installation of proper file did not lead to status bar recovery. Just reinstall stock ROM using PC or mobile ODIN (market - Chainfire) version. This will not factory reset the phone.

What ROM are you on? The OP clearly says that this mod is for stock KKA ROM. I'm on rooted stock KKA ROM and no problem applying this mod.
Kindly check your ROM and try again.

I used Sheep KKA ROM. I thought this mod compatible with Sheep KKA ROM, apparently it is not.
I reinstalled systemui.apk from Sheep KKA ROM and my status bar is back again.
Thanks

Framework files created by kitchen

If you upload the framework and twframework files to the kitchen to create a new battery icon, for example, are those newly created apk files going to work with that same ROM if you reinstall that same ROM after using another ROM?
Just wondering if you have to get a new zip file from the kitchen each time you go back and install a ROM you may have had before the current ROM you may be running.

Ahh, the anwser to the first question would be Yes.
The answer to the second non-question would be No.
Simpler: Install "ABC Rom" flash changes made from "ABC Rom" framework files.
Thanks, TG.
Tired of trying out a new ROM, going back to the other ROM and re-creating the ZIP file all over again.

Here's an easier way to go back: Before flashing a different Rom, while in Red Recovery, make a backup.
That way all you have to do is run Restore from recovery. It will automatically name the backup by the date.
I then use root explorer and rename it to the rom that you were using.
Then when I have the time, I'll copy the backups to my external SD card and to my computer.
There you go. No more reinstalls. Just remember to back up your contacts or you'll wind up with the list from when you backed up last.

[MOD] Theme Store- How to keep your stock icons on any theme

*Dont you hate when you like a theme but hate the icons!!! I will give you a simple guide to download the theme you want and keep your stock icons
~Keep your stock icons for any theme~
*ROOTED REQUIRED*
*Please read complete guide*
*Make sure you are not using the theme you are applying this to! Apply a different theme while your editing this file!
1. Using a file explorer, go to data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson and find the theme you want to keep stock icons!
2. Open file and hit the edit button! Look for this line a little ways down:
"appicon":"com.cambunch.ThemeName.appicon",
and delete it! Save file and reboot!
3. Now you can go to theme store and apply that theme and have stock icons
***Also see post #10 for another simple guide thanks to @SICKMADE***
***This should work for any theme in userjson file, just follow same steps and remember to save and reboot before you apply theme!!!
***JUST HIT THANKS IF YOU THINK THIS IS FRICKIN AWESOME***
Screen shots of files and before and after:
Note 5 have to be root or not to work ??
Yes, because you will have to use a root file explorer! ES FILE Explorer etc.
Good work[emoji106] [emoji106]

Which one? Part 1 or 2?
If icons didnt stay stock, go back to the file you deleted the line and make sure it saved with that line deleted! It did that for me and when i went back and checked file, the line was still there and i re- deleted it, made sure i saved file and rebooted and it worked!

Make sure that you do not have that theme currently applied! Apply another theme then go back and apply theme that you did that for!
All you have to do if you don't like any paticular part of a sammy theme is install a root file manager... I use root browser but what ever you choose as long as it uses root is fine... then once opened file manager navigate to the data/app folder. Here you will find every apk and or sammy theme that you have installed onto your device. Simply scroll down until you find the specific group of folders for which ever theme your wanting to remove a paticular part of ex. Accuweather, App Icons, etc. Once you've located the file you don't want to use with the theme anymore like the icons "themename.appicon-1" simply delete the folder and reboot and badaboom stock icons are back! I hope that made some sense lol
This is the best Thread ever !!! I always wanted this, thanks alot !!! Very Helpful

Yes you can.. I have just tried using a keyboard theme I like on different theme by just copy pasting corresponding lines from one to another.
This also allows you to change your icons to anything you want using the galaxy icon themer app in play store
