does anybody knows a way, software or internet browser for HTC Touch 2 that alow viewing pages on horizontal?
I use mortscript - I have a couple of shourtcuts set up that go into landscape, launch Skyfire and go to a specific page, then go back to portrait when finished.... I do this because Skyfire has embedded flash, and whilst I don't like it as a browser, it's a solution for BBC iPlayer and live streams.
Rotate(270)
Runwait("\Storage Card\Program Files\Skyfire\Skyfire.Exe","http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7459669.stm")
Rotate(0)
So you could replace the runwait command with whatever application you wanted to run in landscape...
i little down the sector , there's my thread ... nice and clean decribed with no pain how u can go landscape in whatever for 10 seconds (install) and then just pressing the Send Key ( the button for answering a phone call) just hold it for 3 sec and it goes landscape ;]]]

I've had it with Opera, the page sizes constantly change and end up so far zoomed out they are unreadable, there is no way to zoom back in, either by double tapping on screen or using the zoom wheel both do nothing.

Thanks, I'll try it. I searched in the Raphael forums, but not in Kaiser. We'll see if this works on my Fuze, but I'm skeptical that this will change the default browser in the TF3d Internet tab if this was developed for the Kaiser.
That is what I want to know, how to change the browser int eh TF3D tab, setting the default browser everywhere else seems to be stragiht forward in comparison (which is saying a lot). :>)

Use registry editor to add in HKLM\Software\HTC\TouchGL\Pinch\WhiteList Key Opera10
in HKLM\Software\HTC\TouchGL\Pinch\WhiteList\Opera10 add REG_SZ, Name: ProcName Value Opera10-armv4i.exe.
soft reset.
Yes, but it's not true multitouch!
I don't think that there is any known method for enabling true multitouch on opera10
The "pinch to zoom" functionality in Opera 9.7 is actually part of the application, rather than a setting that can be controlled externally. It simply does not exist in v10 (I imagine), and therefore can't be switched on. Using the system style zooming is the only option for this.
Besides, as it was pointed out to me previously, Opera 10 doesn't actually have a smooth zoom. It's just zoomed or not zoomed.

Probably because it's a Beta. I've not heard of this problem before though. It looks really nice. I can't wait till they do a proper release of it.
I fully expect Opera to release a new version in the near future with full pinch zoom supported and the advantages V10 offers. Until then I will just continue to use the supplied version, despite the experience being considerably less satisfying and user-friendly than Safari on even my old 2.5 year old iPhone 2G.
Zoomer
Try zoomer for pitch zoom in all applications..
In order to get pinch to zoom to function in Opera 10, use the app of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589305
Works fine for me! Probably it will also be possible to get Opera to rotate to landscape with this app.
Update: rotation works fine, pinch%zoom works though a bit buggy.
Update 2: using P to Z gives you an extra "window" in thelower middle of the screen that only disappears when you reach normal zooming levels again. A bit annoying!
That's no pinch to zoom, that's blowing up a screen image without rescaling. But anyway, beta 2 is out and nothing is improved in this respect.
How about what they did with Igo8?
Igo8 doesn't come with pinch to zoom but someone has managed to get true pinch to zoom to work in it using a 3rd party .exe app.
is it possible to do the same thing with opera 10?
Opera 10 has multiple zoom levels, in the settings you can choose from 100 to 300%, thats not the problem. The problem is a) that theres no zoom slider in the ui that allows to zoom instantly and b) opera 10 does not regocnize multitouch gestures. I don't know about windows mobile, but I'm pretty sure that that would work on wm: With windows you can send commands to any windows such as scrool down, zoom etc. If the programmer did his job well, the application then does something with that commands. If that is possible with wm, I'm sure that opera did implement it. So the only thing that is required is to writte an app that a) detect that opera is active and that a multitouch gesture has been done and b) send the equivalent zoom command to opera. This is the same way HTC has implemented the zoom slider on the diamond2 and pro2. If somebody would try it, it isn't that hard, I'll do it if i have more time
Not only opera 10 on WM doesnt have any real pinch to zoom option it also doesnt have that option on Opera mini on iphone either! and i have no idea why is that? but my question is! is it possible that someone use some 9.7 version files on 10? to make it work??

Because you still don't understand how Opera Mini works.
Plugin
Opera 10 has Plugin Support on Windows Mobile Phones. So the only way to get that original zoom feeling back is writing a plugin that remodifies Opera.
I still don't understand why they removed that zooming feature from the new Browser version.
Ok, it has that special Textbox scaling which fits a text right into the screen width with a simple double click, but sometimes, this doesnt work properly and multitouch zooming would be a solution.
I hope for a relaunch in the next Opera version.
i heard i can disable the whole sideways roation of the screen through regedit
i need to disable the album display when u tun the phone landscape because when i use an app to rotate manilla it goes off screen same with htc photos so is there a registry edit or an app i can use to disable it ? please help
First yes you can IMO. Although most ppl want it the other way around
I use PHM RegEdit (the original webpage does not load, but you can download the regedit.Mrln_ARM.cab there).
You do know that by editing the registry you violate the warranty <g>
Anyway goto this webpage;
http://pocketnow.com/wiki/HTC_Touchscreen_Registry_Edits#Homescreen
and find;
Bringing Manual Screen Rotation Back to the Touch Diamond
Here your quest begins.
Second when reading the above page my eye fell on;
'accelerometer screen orientation switching'
and IMO there is an application which shows all programs capable of turning to Portrait/Landscape mode, only I can't remember what it's called.. still searching.
BTW also take a look here;
XDA-Google-Search
Good luck
Hi guys. I want to switch to Opera 10 but i have problem with initial Opera 10 settings to show hole page. In Opera 9.7 by default Virtual Screen Width was 800 and with this setting i was able to read pages in landscape mode without zooming (whit my eagle eye sight
But Opera 10 by default shows hole page (either in landscape or portrait) and it's to small to read..
In other words i want to make opposite of what is talked about in this tread. But i cannot find corresponding registry entries for opera 10?

Hi,
I've been using my HTC Touch2 for a while now.
I decided to turn of the TouchFLO homescreen as it seems to use a lot of my free memory. I use a customized (used Home Screen Customizer - free from the marketplace) , default WM6.5 home screen now. It makes it faster ^^
The indicator raised from 45% to 70% in a day with all apps closed...
But TouchFLO also had a nice additional feature - all 'dropdown menu's ' or whatever you'd call it on a phone became way more touch friendly. (Those that open when holding your finger in file explorer for example, or when you click file in pocket word)
Is there a way to enable these menu's without enabling touchFLO?
I also prefer the HTC settings panels, that were only accessible from the TouchFLO home screen. I already found the sound settings (htcsoundsettings.exe) but I wonder if anyone knows more .exe files - for selecting backgrounds etc. Or a list of all files in the windows folder by default - it takes ages to load, when sorting is accidently set to 'File type' it takes like 15 minutes sometimes...
Also I'd like to add links to the settings menu of the start menu but so far I've only been able to add icons to the start menu or other subfolders and not the settings one
Thanks in advance,
JSO
Have you tried M2DCustomizer? If you mean saving up battery u might wana try custom roms
No, thank you for the link I'm sure it will help me.
But it didn't really help me out with my question - can I keep just the dropdown menu's without anabling TouchFLO/Manila2D from the Home Screen settings...

Hello, having read your message hope I understand well. You want a combination of features but foremost a lot of free Ram. Touch flow takes if I am correct 8-12Mb which your device should be able to handle.
This tweak will help you with Ram consumption aswell as regular soft reset or Ram cleaner.....several available on XDA.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ResProxy\ShareMemS ize=0 (Increase free memory)
I agree with member Deepak that choosing a custom Rom offers best of both worlds. But also here you have to make the choice Touch flow or not.....having only parts is not possible (unless built in Rom).
Thanks all for your effort, but I think I finally found something:
/showthread.php?t=540922 (can't post link because my account is not approved )
This allows me to disable touchFLO while still using the nice menu's; downloading right now
Yeah, used this on my previous Rom (WM 6.1) aswell. Was not happy with the result since it did not work flawless.....dissappear after soft reset, not working with some programs etc.
But see if it works for you. Success.
