Guys, since several versions of (mainly Energy) Roms (with Manila 2.1 as well as with 2.5) I have this problem: When I press the left phone button the phone does nothing instead of jumping into the phone mode. I need to switch it of (display switch on top of the phone) and on again, then it mostly works. Also the home button and the back button often scroll through the tabs instead of jumping directly to the home screen or ... Anybody else with this issue or - even better - with a solution?

I have been having exactly the same problem for a few months. I was first thinking a hardware problem, perhaps the button contacts got munged (too much kevtris?). But it is very intermittent. Sometimes the problem lasts for a day, other times just a few minutes. Summary of intermittent problems:
Home button non-responsive. When running an app or in Sense/Manila/TouchFlo, pressing home does nothing.
Home button switches to the left Sense tab when in Sense. When viewing email, switches to a different email account. [Obviously being interpreted as a left-arrow.]
Back button non-responsive. When running an app, pressing back does nothing. Which makes it more difficult to navigate around.
Short-press send button non-responsive. Doesn't display dialer either when trying to start a new call, or returning to the dialer in a call.
Long-press send button non-responsive. Mapped to my task manager so should start that.
Possibly related - When reading emails zooming text size using the scroll wheel only works about half the time.
The PTT, volume, and power buttons always work fine.
I haven't noticed whether sleep/unsleep (short-press power button) helps.
Soft-reset sometimes helps, not always.
I don't hard-reset unless upgrading the ROM; this has survived across three different versions of EnergyROM.
I have had my phone since Nov 2008 and it was free, so I figure I got my money's worth.

To orkan95: I have exact same problem as you: the "Answer", "Back", "Home" buttons sometimes scroll through different tabs, what's even worse for me is that when I open some item list (e.g. Emails, RSS ), it automatically scrolls up and down randomly (my finger wasn't even touch the phone) .
This has been a very annoying problem since Day 1 I had flashed my HTC Touch Pro with custom roms. I had been googling for a solution for this issue for several months now and no luck at all and would really appreciate if any experts in this forum could answer to this issue. Thanks!
FYI, I personally don't think it's the hardware's problem as it worked well with the original official Rom (6.1). The problem only emerged when I flashed with any Custom Roms.

Hey guys
New to TouchFlo - got it installed yesterday.
Having an issue though.
When I open it, by clicking the taskbar button, or in Start, it opens up.
When i want to go back to Today screen, I swipe up on it to toss it away, or even if i hold the right taskbar button to close it, it goes away.
If i try to access it again, nothing happens. screen stays on Today, but is not functional unless i press the END key, as if an invisible FLO is over the screen
Whats up here?
here is what i flashed yesterday
T-Mobile 2.26 ROM : MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511.exe

running old AT&T blue network on 8125
installed apps:

Xplore Keyboard
Today Agenda
Pocket Alarm
Nyx Password
Device Lock
Contact Manager
MhoairSofa Calendar+ Today Plugin
BatteryStatus (using this to overclock to 260mhz.)
PocketSoft ToggleBT
I had the iphone phonepad and stuff installed, but i couldnt figure out how to switch back to the Today screen without clicking SETTINGS, and still having iphone running. it was slow and laggy. any way around this?
thanks
I had same issue, only solution for me, was to stop using TouchFlo
Touchflo will only pull itself up the first time period...
Afterwards when you push the button to access it, it will appear nothing will happen... however if you swipe your finger as if you were turning the cube, it will infact go to the next page..... try it out
that is stupid!
any hopes of a fix?
The various versions of touchflo on wizard require you to press a button before getting touch to work. Depending on the ROM, this could be button 4 or left softkey.
HTC Tocuh has a video of Touch phone on their website. I see that even here, a button is pressed every time the touch features are accessed. This may be a feature of touch itself, rather than a bug in the way touchflo works on wizard.

I've noticed that the calibration of the navpad can be a bit sensitive. Say if you swipe across it, it can throw it off, and make the buttons not work the way they're suppose to, this is because the 4 nav buttons are sign by where your finger is on the pad. I've tried a hard reset, and this happens a few time. opening the screen or locking/unlocking seems to reset it to work normally.
Hello!
I'm experiencing some problems with my o2 Touch Pro.
Hardware buttons on the bottom of the phone (d-pad, home, back, call, end call) are not working properly (they work fine only 20% of the time, it's random i guess).
When i press "call" button, device responds as if i pressed the "left" button. It's very annoying. The circle used to zoom in, and out around the "enter" button is problematic as well. It zooms - but but in a very chatoic way - a bit of of zoom in, then zoom out, another zoom in. Functions are just messed up.
Another time, it's all working...
How can i fix it? Is it a hardware problem?
I'm using the Energy Rom - titanium version.
Thanks for your help in advance...
Honestly, if you can't deal with it, get another device. Either that or stick with the stock ROM, less problematic (you can also keep the full function of the d-pad) but then again it may introduce other issues. Someone mentioned this being more a hardware than a software issue. Since I cannot reproduce this on my at&t Fuze, that is all I can suggest on my end.
I get some of that with my fuze; mostly, the d-pad doesn't read gestures properly. If I run compact heaps (from sk tools) periodically, it helps. Soft resetting obviously helps as well. I think it's more of a hardware issue. My problems have definitely gotten worse over time. You can also check out this tool (from an HTC test rom dump; can't remember where I got it). It's a debugger for the d-pad. At least you can see how accurately the button presses and gestures work.
Thanks.
AppDog killed my tablet's home button functionality...
For those of you unfamiliar with it, AppDog pays you a couple cents at a time for trying out new apps (pays out in Facebook credits). I had tried it on Bluestacks and it worked just fine. When I tried it on my tablet, things got all screwy. Once I installed it, it took over control of my Home buttons. The on-screen home button would bring me back to AppDog instead of to Launcher, and the hard button now acts as a "back" button instead of "home".
I uninstalled AppDog, but it didn't fix anything. The hard button still acts as a back button, and the on-screen home button now does nothing at all.
How do I restore the functionality of the home buttons? It's a huge pain to have to manually back out of whatever I'm doing (esp. when browsing the web, as I have to back through every page I've visited)
My tablet is a 7" Craig model CMP741e running ICS 4.0.3, factory rooted.
A side note, I'm not sure if this was caused by the same app, but I'm missing some options in my Settings (i.e. Dev Options doesn't show up unless I'm plugged into my PC)
I got my OnePlus One 64 GB, Indian edition (so no updates from CM) 2 days ago. I quickly switched to software keys (creature of habit, previous phone had them). My personal preference for software navigation keys is to place the back button on the right side and the multitasking one on the left, plus a rightmost toggle for search button/magnifying glass (I find this configuration very productive). I use the following process to change them:
1. Settings->Buttons
2. Software buttons layout->Lock icon
3. Make changes->Lock icon again to save changes
The said changes are reflected, and I'm able to observe them.... until the device locks. After unlocking, the software keys are reset to the default configuration: back key, home and multitasking button. I've tried rebooting the device and it doesn't help. Only thing I've changed in the device is switching to ART, everything else is stock. Can't wrap my head around the issue, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
