I did not find any similar post on this forum so I'm posting it here...
Here are working fixes for the pink square in Phone Canvas and overlapping dialpad icon that some of you may encounter with WM 6.5.x.
All credits go to Mr Pham Quang (overlap) and De'Key (pink square). Many thanks to them.
1°/ Fix for the overlapping dialpad icon:
Firstly, just download the PQDHD2 cab from Mr. Pham Quang.

2°/ Fix for the pink square during phone calls:
Once you have installed the PQDHD2 fix you will notice a small pink square during phone calls.
Just install the De'Key PinkSpotFix cab below, and that's it. All graphic glitches will be fixed.
Please note that this second fix will (probably) only work with the regular HTC dialer (i.e. the white one), and not with custom dialers.
Fantastic, now It's time for 6.5.3 rom update - no more buggy dialers!

Hi is there anyway to make this fix work for other dialers? Such as the Rhodium Dialer.
Thanxs very much. Working great. But can you tell me why the installed data package is so big (1 MB + 4 MB) ? Seems like just the icons has changed... And a complete dialer usually takes up to 14 MB so this cant be the case as well. Any ideas whats inside the cab...?

Indeed the package is big. I think we shall consider this fix as a temporary one. I'm confident someone will make it in one cab only (instead of two) and also make it lighter.

Indeed, when you install the first Fix, the dll file phcanImages.dll must be modified consequently.

I tested with Rhodium dialer and it is not working.
Primary, it messes the bottom line of the dialer (the one with the 'Talk' button)
That's bad. As I underlined in my 1st post, the fix will work only with the regular HTC dialer, and not with custom dialers.
I looked inside dlls, but could not find what menus have been changed, as there are a lot
Do you know what is the correct menu, so I can give a try to change them?
(or if you have the original dlls, I could try to search to find it by myself)

Unfortunately I don't have the original dll. Hope someone can help.
Nonetheless, the first fix should work with a vast majority of dialers. I don't know why it does not work specifically with the Rhodium one.
Alll the current diallers were fixed a couple of weeks ago. They were posted by alexx in da_gs mobile releases thread in dev and hacking forum
No work around or cabs needed, just two files to copy to windows directory.

How do I get taskbar like yours (with vista style start menu button) and popping up menu??
The only problems after 1hr of use:
- java emulator is broken (buttons names, alerts) and opera mini doesnt work in full screen
- connection setup is broken but this is sth we use only once a hardreset so can live with it
- input in operamini is limited ?? thats why i posted 2 posts and everything has to be presses twice
- connection manager - any options to have a 6 butt black or any other than we have? - just dont like it.

No, the 6 button black version is made for the original dpi of the Vox, you have to rewrite the whole thing to make it work, but feel free to do so!

Java is fixed.
Connection Setup & Comm Manager.. I think they need to be re-written. But the other Dr. Gonzo Comm Manager is working fine. You can launch it from Home Screen as well from shortcut inside.

I dont understand which black bar you are talking at bottom? I dont see any.. I have adjusted the images..
When incoming call comes, the image is not displayed in center. Any idea how to fix this?

Mh there is no option in registry for centering call screens that I am aware of!

I made a little skin for the menu selector.
WVGA and VGA are supported.
Install instructions:
Backup first
Unzip HTCMenus.zip and copy HTCMenus.bmp to the /windows folder.
Uninstall instructions:

Haha, you dont need the menu's to be in English, it is the selection color for the rhodium menus that changes from green to black

hi i downloaded ur set but i have a very ugly menu noe not like the one postet now i dod the mistake and dodnt backup could someone pls post the original file pls.
i managed to find another original Topaz HTCMenus.BMP File replaced the existing one but instead of original one i know got the same ugly Menu with green at the spaces between the sections the arrows are missing completley and iam going nuts cause i dont want to flash all again and set up my Topaz again from scratch pls help me on this one.

I'm sorry I was on holiday so I couldn't answer your question. The reason for your problem, is that you probably have another menu installed. It could be the rhodium or the tachi version. I've made a skin for them too: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535351

Alternatively Max TF3d Application lets you change the menus quite easily and conveniently without having to worry about a hard reset. cant find the link but if you search the forum it will turn up
But that's for manila, I made this to work with the menus in windows.
Nevertheless I haven't tried that tool but it sounds good.
I use cfc gui for tf3d sknning, it works very good.

I'll have a look for that pack now, thanks. I did try Maxttm before but didn't know which components to add.
Edit: Officially tried every method on this forum now and failed. It seems some ROMs just make this impossible whereas on others it works fine. I'll stick to the default slider.

AFAIK you are the first to create a glass slider that actually works with manila 2.1 1920 so kudos to you. Me and many others have run into this problem that a lot of common mods haven't been developed to work with this particular version of manila. It seems that it came out at around the same time as manila 2.5 and all the developmental effort has gone into modifying that.
Personally i prefer Sense/Manila 2.1 so it's great that somebody has put in the time to come up with this for us.

Are the Manila icon files you are posting from a stock version of 2.1? If you are using the stock ROM i believe Lucarps fixed transparent slider will work.
Custom ROMs use a different icon set (usually the same ones that are found in Sense 2.5) which is why there has been no nice slider for us up till now. The files to be posted need to come from a Sense 2.1 phone.
I'll sticked here waiting for a aligned version...

The icon files are from Stock ROM 2.16.407.1
But I encountered the same issue wirh overlapping icons which is caused by the hero-icons in background (?).

As I supposed, worst thing ever. Tab Bar is changed/broken, no change to the slider itself.
BTW: Stock HTC ROM has Sense 2.1

Did a little more finetuning and attached the files you need to customize the home-tab like on the screenshot. Install "cmE Home Tab Appointments.cab" and restart sense afterwards to get the new homescreen. "home_tab.zip" contains the same files, in case you want to edit or copy them yourself.
note: this is NOT bugfree, since I couldn't decompile the original lua script without errors, and couldn't find any help on this. BACKUP ORIGINAL FILES BEFORE REPLACING.

This is excactly what I was looking for as well, great, hope there will be a bug free solution soon. It's really important for me to see multiple appointments.

- You posted two captures, one with weather on the right top, and another one without weather. Which one would we get if we install your files ?
- Is it necessary to edit your files to customize the language ? I'd like to get this interface fully in french.
- Is it possible to add a few shortcuts to applications on the today screen ?

1. It's the second screen.
2. No need to edit any language files. All the files (except 1 XML file for the date - but you don't need it) are language independent.
3. No. I've used Manila 2.1 scripts to show more appointments. I wasn't able to fully decompile the original manila 2.5 files and didn't get any answers to my pm's. As the shortcuts-part was one of the crippled ones, when decompiling, there is no possibiliy to use shortcuts.

have a look at the MaxManila Ultimate v 2.6 beta theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551489. Look for post numner 4, there is the cab file.
A Windows Phone 7 Metro style dialer skin. Still a work in progress, for example some icons are a bit ugly but I'll redo them later. This is a dedicated thread for the HTC WVGA version, versions for other phones are available at this thread.
I have reuploaded the old version which is fully working. The only thing is that there's a pink square in the in-call screen.
Note: Because I do not own a WVGA/VGA device, I cannot test this myself, so please give me feedback on whether it's working and if you encounter any bugs.

Skinned the talk and other button at the left (what does it do, by the way?). Still not perfect as that icon is a bit pixelated, but I'll completely redo them later. But, as this version now replaces a DLL, it may not work with some ROMs, so please leave feedback.
Also, could anyone tell me if the buttons completely light up in blue when pressed, or is there a grey area around them?
Having some issues getting it to install. Keeps saying insufficient privileges, despite having SDKCERTS installed, soft reset, etc.

Using a taskmanager, make sure cprog.exe is not running.
If so, kill it and try the install again.

works great now. if you just can change colour of contacts for some matching to dialer that would be great. and after restart ive got little white vertical stripe on the left side of call history icon. i dont have much time to do a screenshot now.
