Is it possible to set the alerts or reminders in jam with any notification sound / ringtone or vibration? I tried to set the reminders but it only displays the upcoming appointments but never gives any alert or reminder.
How can I set any notification sound or ringtone with the reminder / alert?
Thanks.
I think this should be in the Sounds and Notifications settings.
If it's not there, I use alarmtoday to allow all of this to be customised.

You can also use PhoneAlarm from the same developer (www.pocketmax.net) for similar audible repeating alerts for phone functions (voice mail, missed call, sms, e-mail)

Chris
Yes you can. You should find it in the Sounds and Notifications settings.
Ringtones usually go in the 'windows\rings' directory and any other alarms etc go directly into the 'windows' directory.
Then go to START, SETTINGS, SOUNDS & NOTIFICATIONS, make sure the the first three tick boxes are enabled, then select the NOTIFICATIONS tab at the bottom. In the event box, select REMINDERS. Make sure the PLAY SOUND box is ticked. You can then select the alarm you wish from the list (under reminders).
Hi
Could someone please help me with this issue on my Treo 750?
I have used this phone for a while now, but there is one thing related to the sound function that bothers me.
How can I set up the phone to disable system sound such as reminders of incoming email, SMS, upcoming meetings etc when I am on the phone with someone or are using the media player playing MP3 files?
I have tried to figure this out under settings for sound and notification but I can not make this work properly! I either loose these sounds completely or they are always active. I only like to disable them or replace them with viration when I use earplug or are having a call.
It is quite annoying listening to music via ear plugs a phone call and suddenly getting a loud sound on my ear about an incoming call, meeting SMS etc.
At the moment I have the following 3rd party SW installed.
WebIS Pocket Informant 8
SBSH Pocket Breeze 5.4
SBSH Pocket Weather 2.0.4
SBSH PhoneWeaver 1.2
SBSH iLaucher 3.1
Lakeridge WisBar Advance 3

I'd like to configure alarms so that regardless of the system sound settings they still vibrate.
The built in "Clocks and Alarms" app only supports vibration when the system is not on Silent.
I've experimented with Pocket Alarm but couldn't get the desired outcome.
GAlarm was problematic because of some issues I had with the auto-rotation of my device and the graphics in Galarm getting subsequently messed up.
Is there a clock alarm out there capable of meeting this simple request?
for my suggestion:
1/ the room has some errors ==> upgrade another one
2/ check again all settings in Sound & Notification
The ROM has no errors. I am not the first person to complain about this behaviour of WM. It's the standard behaviour.
Sounds and Notifications has no setting that can control this. I don't want to turn off sound on all reminders.
I need to be able to set specific alarms to only vibrate regardless of the system sound settings.
here's a No Sound wav file... assign it as your alarm tone.
I already have a silent file on my machine which I use for startup and shutdown.
This is not the solution.
I don't want to turn off sound on all reminders.
I need to be able to set specific alarms to only vibrate regardless of the system sound settings. When I use a silent file as the alarm tone in (for example) Pocket Alarm, the vibration also gets turned off.
Hello to all,
Company I work for has finally moved from mandatory issued BB's to BYOD. But, I have to admit, the BB Profile Management is very good and lets you tweak most everything regarding sound, vibration, and LED.
My goal with this post is to discover if it is possible create an APP that will interface/manage the sound, vibration, and LED on my Android device.
I have a an AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-I317 at version 4.1.2.
I very much would like to have similar Profile Management like BB. There are a lot of apps out there, but so far the ones I have review fall short of managing vibration.Profile Flow and Llama are good, but very short of what I want to do.
I want to create this app for myself as a challenge.
Also it appears that the only hope of doing this is to first root the device, which I have done so on mine.
In case you are not familiar with the BB Profile Management, below is a matrix of what a user can do.
For the most part, BB Apps (Phone, Calendar, TODO list, events, notifications, alarm, alerts, E-mail, SMS, etc...) that have anything to do with sound, vibration, and LED will be listed in the Profile Manager.
When you create a Profile, in that profile you can control the following.
Sound: For each app you can have a separate Volume Level, None, Progressively Louder Volume, or Tone in the selected Profile.
Vibration: For each app you can have a separate Vibration scheme; no vibration, number of vibration pulses in the selected.
LED: For each app, you can have a separate LED scenario; color, flash rate for the selected Profile.
In some case, you can control the combination of Vibration and Tones:
1. Vibrate and Sound at the same time.
2. Vibrate for x number of pulses and Sound for 5 seconds together.
3. Vibrate for x number of pulses, then Sound for 5 seconds after the Vibration has stopped.
Examples:
Night:
Phone Call, vibrates first, then rings (with its own sound file), gets louder over time.
Alarm Clock, vibrates and Rings (different sound file), gets louder.
Alerts, short tone, no vibration.
Meeting:
All sounds off
Vibrates only for e-mail, and text messages from Family Group
Outside:
Crank it all up
I think I got the point across.
So the $1m ?
Can this be done, can an app intercept request to the speaker, vibrator, and led and modify what it does based on a configured Profile?
I am looking forward to your response.
Thanks
Have a Great Android Day
Keith
Hi all,
I'm looking for an app to backup restore apps audio ringtones profiles. I haven't set-up different audio level profiles depending on either location or time of day because I'm waiting to solve this issue first. I currently have separate ringtones for these functions:
Calendar: one ringtone
Tasks: 3 ringtones depending on assigned task priority
Messaging: one ringtone
Phone: one ringtone
Email: one ringtone
I use separate apps for different functions but most ringtones are set by their counterparts Android stock app:
aCalendar+ to manage my calendar but the ringtone is set in the stock calendar app
Sliding Messaging Pro for SMS messages with ringtone set by the stock messaging app
BHive Google Tasks which sets 3 different ringtones depending on the task priority, low, medium or high.
PixelPhone PRO as dialer and contacts management. I don't have (yet) different sound profiles per contact. I'm waiting to solve the general sound notifications before fiddling with this. Thus, the phone ringtone is set by the default android app.
Gmail sets the ringtone for incoming emails
I don't know why but the system (4.2.2) regularly resets everything to the Messaging ring which in turn has been reset to the phone's default ringtone. This issue happens even if I use or only have the stock apps installed for Calendar, Messaging and Phone.
Thanks for any suggestion for a paid or free app that could help with my issue.
I think you can use this app for backup:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup
It should also backup your audio preferences.

Hi SourceGecko,
I installed Helium as advised but could not get the program to detect my phone on Windows (64-bit). I have an Alcatatel One Touch IDOL S 6034R. My computer detects the phone in USB mode just fine, naming it as "Android Device". I don't understand why Helium requires such usb connection before doing anything. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion.
