Alerts and Reminders - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

Is it possible to set the alerts or reminders in jam with any notification sound / ringtone or vibration? I tried to set the reminders but it only displays the upcoming appointments but never gives any alert or reminder.
How can I set any notification sound or ringtone with the reminder / alert?
Thanks.

I think this should be in the Sounds and Notifications settings.
If it's not there, I use alarmtoday to allow all of this to be customised.

You can also use PhoneAlarm from the same developer (www.pocketmax.net) for similar audible repeating alerts for phone functions (voice mail, missed call, sms, e-mail)

Chris

Yes you can. You should find it in the Sounds and Notifications settings.
Ringtones usually go in the 'windows\rings' directory and any other alarms etc go directly into the 'windows' directory.
Then go to START, SETTINGS, SOUNDS & NOTIFICATIONS, make sure the the first three tick boxes are enabled, then select the NOTIFICATIONS tab at the bottom. In the event box, select REMINDERS. Make sure the PLAY SOUND box is ticked. You can then select the alarm you wish from the list (under reminders).

Alarms failed and then Tasks' sound notification did the same

Hi,
Do enybody know the "Clock & Alarms" issue influencing Task sound notifications?
Everything was ok until I once set up Alarm for next morning. The alarm was activated but I couldn't switch it off - no buttons (and the like) to do it.
Right after it happend, the Tasks lost theirs sound (and, lets name it, window) notifications.
Now I can't manage my Alarms and sound notifications for Tasks and Appointments are unavailable.
What to do?

Slawek

Adding a new alarm to HTC Touch Pro

Hi guys,
Just been having an incredible number of problems trying to add an alarm ring tone to my alarm clock? The default alarms are too low in volume and too short in duration to be of any use in waking me up in the mornings. I've tried and incredible number of ways to add some tones into the alarm but haven't be able to. Since changing phones, the alarm just hasn't been enough to wake me up!
In my event notification section, there is no way of altering the alarm. There is no drop-down menu option for alarms or ringtones. The following options are available:
Phone: Incoming call
Active Sync: Begin sync
Active Sync: End sync
Beam: Autoreceive
Connection disconnected
Connection established
IM: new instant message
IM: Nudge
Messaging: Downloading MMS/MMS downloaded/MMS sent/ new email message/new mms/new mms report/new text message/sending mms
Phone: Missed call
Phone Voice mail
Quick GPS
Reminders
Wireless network detected
Then, there is one option that has 5 squares present - I think the phone cannot read the symbols, but I tried it and it doesn't work either.
I tried the following steps also, which my friend suggested:
"Copy whatever mp3 file(s) you wish to use as ringtones or alarm tones into a new folder on the memory card. Then, using the phone's File Explorer, copy those files into the Windows folder (that you'll find in the Phone Memory), and also into the Ringtones or Rings folder, and lastly, into My Documents/My Ringtones (I think that's the folder's name - if not, then it's very similar). Then go to the Events and Notifications section of your phone's setup, that is, the section where you change your ringtones. There, you'll find a section that has a dropdown menu that shows each individual event, along with another dropdown menu showing the available mp3 and wav files. You can then change the event notification (alarm tone/ringtone) to whatever you want."
Some help would be GREATLY appreciated - I'd be very grateful for the member who can get me waking up on time again in the morning!
g-alarm
the default alarm options for WM aren't great; my old samsung cellphone had better options and settings for alarms. i highly recommend using a separate application like g-alarm that has lots of interesting options: http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=galarm/about
Yeah g-alarm is by far much better, BUT just in case you were wondering. How you change the sound is to go to settings / clocks & alarms/ then for each individual alarm click on the little bell. There should be a drop down box there, although I'm not sure if mp3's are supported or not out of the box.

i dont think mp3s are supported. thats basically the main reason i installed g-alarm. great program, but way too easy to flip over to snooze (yes, it's accelerometer enabled so you can flip your phone over to snooze or do a maze to turn off the alarm)
It works extremely well! Thank you very much for recommending it!

Incominig e-mail sound

My TP2 stopped making any notification of incoming text messages or e-mails. I thought that incoming e-mail/ sms was controlled by the sound control, and that when we turned single volume off, we were setting one volume for ringing and another for system.
Silly me, I thought that System was e-mail and SMS message. But it looks like it is only things like low battery. Am I correct?
Where the heck is the control for e-mail volume. Also, I am trying to make distinctive rings for some individual e-mails. I have been able to go into an individual contact, edit contact, and then go to ringtones. But will that give me an individual ringtone when they call, or can I also get an individual alert when they text or e-mail me.
Then net of my problem now is that e-mail reception is silent. Then when I get the sound back I want to know if it is possible to get individual alerts.
Thanks.
Settings>Sound>Advanced>
make sure Events and Program Notifications are checked.. and go into Notofications and go through the pull down menu and make sure new email and new txt and new mms have sounds selected and checked "play sound"
Thanks. I did not make it deep enough into Notifications.

How to disable email vibrate notification?

Is it possible to disable the vibrate notification when receiving e-mails (using the stock e-mail app)? I want the visual icon to show up in the notification bar with no sound, just NOT vibrate. I want to keep the vibrate notifications for MMS, calls, etc..just not e-mails. This seems like a simple request but I can't seem to figure it out.
If its anything like the Gmail app then open up settings, inside settings, click on your Address [email protected], Then its inside there...
( I don't use the email app, sorry.. just a thought )
Settings --> General --> Notifications --> Select corresponding account --> UNcheck "Vibration" (unchecked by default for me)

Thanks for your response. The "vibration" option is grey so I can't change it. It is off by default anyways, but it still vibrates.
This is driving me crazy. Any recommendations for a different email app?
Open email. Touch 3 dots in upper right hand corner. Touch settings. Open notifications. Select email account . Turn off vibration.

If you're like me and always keep your phone on vibrate, this is actually a far more annoying issue than you would imagine. (The same fix can be used for Google Hangouts.)
If vibrate is not currently enabled under notifications and your phone keeps vibrating at you, it's actually because of your notification sound. If you change the notification sound to "Silent", your phone will no longer vibrate.

Yes, I always keep my phone on vibrate. If I switch it to silent, wouldn't that disable the vibrate from sms and calls?
No, those will still vibrate. You don't want to switch the ring tone settings, just the notification sound for your email. Go into settings, notifications, and then for the notification sound select "Silent".

how to stop vibration?

I have set my phone on Vibration profile.
My whats notifications settings have DO NOT VIBRATE set for messages. Phone still vibrates when i receive a whatsapp or for that matter any notification such as Gmail.
I can go to notifications - apps - particular app and set as "show silently", but then it will not show a headsup or will not sound if i change my sound profile to ringing. Any suggestions here?
