Cant change my homescreen wallpaper from weather!!!

I dont like having all the clouds floating across the screen, I think its a waste of space+ it makes my 1ghz -.- leo lag.
So Ive tried changing the homewallpaper to animated then choosing my own 480x800 wallpapers, but once I set them, I go back to check on the homescreen and I still have the default stuff on there Ive tried restarting ect, nothing.
You can see what rom im running from my signature, Im not sure if thats making any difference. I think the problem may be the fact that I just tried to install Vovichek_Jamrecords 16 quicklinks, but it didnt work, I got the screen attached to this thread, so I uninstalled it and everything went back to normal, or so I thought, may this be the problem?

The method you described should work. I can only guess that you're right about the ROM or the 16 quicklinks affecting it.
Can't help, other than to say that it works on mine when I do that, so it's not default behaviour.

I know sashimi does loads of it, but I hate having to relink facebook profiles ect

Just get all your mates to change their facebook profiles so that autolinking works

I was obviously being sarcastic, but in case yours doesn't do this...
All the people in my contact list have the same full name or the same email address that they have on facebook (if they're on there).
I only have to manually link about 2 of them, out of about 30. I just go into the people tab, all people, and the updates and events tab (the figure with a clock next to the head) and perform an update there. It automatically links the majority of my facebook/contact matches.
Do you have to manually link them all 1-by-1?

I just set my wallpaper to animated, but selected a static one, and then set it back to the weather one. I also did a registry dump of HKCU before and after setting it back to the weather one, and I found 1 change when I'd set it to a non-weather background.
Try setting this registry key. You'll need a reset afterwards.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"Home.WallpaperMode"=dword:00000002

Well I dont tend to put peoples email adresses in, but what your saying is that if I just bother to do it once (then it will always be saved when I use ppc pim backup) When I reload them on it will automatically link facebook profiles?

00000002 hexadecimal right? making the decimal 2? (Sorry I dont know much about the registry) I just tried that and nothing seems to have happened, I came back after restarting and the clouds/rain ect arent over the screen but I still cant change to an animated background (which btw Im not using actual animated bg's Im using still ones)

Yep - 0x00000002 = 2, so you know more than you think
If it's turned the weather animation off, then I'd say it's worked. Go to Menu, Home Wallpaper, and select Weather Wallpaper. Then browse for the background you want for the home page. Once you've got that, set that registry key and restart.
If the wallpaper doesn't change when you do it that way either, then it probably is the quicklinks change that's broke something, so I'd recommend looking at HDWall. If you don't know what it is, it's a cab creator for wallpapers that allows high quality images (not the downsized version that you get if you let the UI set it), and you can have it on all tabs too. I have 20 quicklinks and HDWall works great for me.
Anyway, lets see how you get on with changing the wallpaper first.

Yeah I got the decimal thing correct, but still it didnt work
+I have used hdwall before, but dont tend to bother as it causes
problems with manila 1922, but I gave it another go but nothing
changed.
In one last attempt I went onto the registry and changed the default wallpaper, but not I just have a white one lol @[email protected]

if you want to get rid of that error message that appears when you try to access tab "Photos & Videos", just unzip the attachment "Album Searcher Signed.zip" and copy the .exe file to windows directory intro TG01.

How did you get that take your position??
When I try it´s impossible and if I go to settings and try to "click" in position it give me an error message that says: "Can´t open AGPSettings"

you don't have to use My Location. Just enter another city for updating the weather.

I enter another city, but in the clock screen apears under the clock "my ubication" and not the city that I selected in the wether screen
So I can´t look the weather in the main screen with the clock and the cool animation I have to go to the right untirl the weather screen and then select my city

Also i suggest in weather setting: disable "download weather for my location"

i have the same problem ... there is no chance to place programs ...

I solved with hard reset of the device. I had installed the previous version of manila (1.3 ...) that created problems with the wifi (which was tourned-on).

some feedback.
I've installed it correctly, but have few remarks...
- Battery disappears from the title bar. (is there a solution or a widget to show teh battery?)
- Sometimes crashes with calls log.
- in the pictures tab (after fixing the error bug) i can't click/chose any of the photos, even can't activate the Camera from this screen.
- Also Albums are not working.
- in the settings tab, commManger and email setup are not working.
- Youtube link in the browser's tab is not working
this is all what i noticed so far...

I've switched to 2.5 because this one is allways shutting down after 4/5 seconds without doing nothing
I've managed to deactivate all of the tabs and played with the configs within that time... but it was a no go...

After an hard reset
i've installed sdkcerts, net 3.5, netcfg (to make device use 3.5 instead of 2.5), audio fixes, album searcher...
is there something that i have missed or i have to do in particular
And now, due to the versions that are out
between this one and 2.5 wich one is the most stable and bug less
i'm on the 2.5 very fast and smooth... But it only works more as info and eye candy (contacts and answering messages and calls doesn't work)

Is like an ftp site with several files to install Sense 2.1 in our TG01. Take a look and maybe you can use them to solve some bugs.
Edit: Because of I'm a new user, I can't post the link. However I can tell you where you can find it. In the "TG01 ROM Development" forum, the post named "Need any Toshiba TG01 rom", look at the entry #262 in the 27th page.

anyone figure out issue with calling from a contact? I have this installed on i920 w/ stock rom and whenever I select a contact and try calling it would restart touchflo.... Also my location didn't work.

hi is there an easy way to change all the background on all tabs in touchflo i have looked at m2d but cannot figure out how to use it

i am a bit slow on the uptake sometimes so please be gentle

Assume you have installed M2d and you have some new themes in a file both on your phone.
Open M2d, go to "background" tab, click on grey button on right side and your file manager should open. Go to the file where you stored a theme. Select it and click "Ok" and next "apply".
For missed calls go to Start/settings/sounds&notifications/notifications and select missed calls....change the settings up to your liking......

CHT 1.8 Manila File Names & Transparent Files attached

Hello,
I wonder if anyone is able to/wants to help me?
I am looking for confirmation of the manila file names for CHT 1.8... (I have been browsing the forum but can only find cabs and not the file names for this)
I have been looking through the files by using cfc-gui but I can’t confidently identify the right files!!
I just want to personalise my own files, initially to achieve a transparent home screen, but ongoing to something else.
The clock files are identified on the CHT thread, but not the bars/panels.
I think I have identified the following files (for not-pressed bars), but on modifying them and loading them onto the phone (in the Windows folder, and then restarting manila, and also soft resetting) they don’t all seem to change as I expected.
These ones do work:
0B7F6995_manila = appointment expand/pull-down grip
30D807DA_manila = thin bar with rounded corners to ‘finish’ lower appointment
0d61c97c_manila = date bar
740dc76b_manila = alarm bar
These ones don’t work:
43A0289_manila = appointment list bar
77BAF4F0_manila = notifications full bar
(if these aren’t what I think they are, then what have I changed by modding these files??!!)
I can see from various mods on this forum that people are able to change the files I want to work with, so I must just be playing with the wrong files.
Any help would be good, and it’ll save me time by further searching many pages of the forum and struggling to identify the files in the Windows folder (which is proving very difficult it seems).

it would be good if there was a manila library on here somewhere - cfc-gui is a really good tool, but it's just not doing a proper job for me on this occasion!!!
PS: I have current version 1.66 standard UK ROM on HD2, non-network specific. My CHT 1.8 is working fine, no issues, I just want to mod it a bit!

Agree with the above would be good if there was a list available as took me ages just to find the default cover art for music and couldn't find the mini music player background. I'm using cfc-gui as well and there's as many/if not more files under unknown as there are with headers which makes it really difficult. I've just been going through them 1 by 1 and I'm going to try edit a few on the weekend so will let you know what I find.

Cheers - any help on this would be appreciated. There are loads of mods for this already, but not many sharing info!!

the clock white background remains white, Any updates of others ?

No didn't find them but I'm going to look at the files in a cab I used to change the music player when I get a chance this weekend and will let you know.

I would like to help but I am using Dusk ROM with Cookie cooked in to it and skinned by G10 so I think they are not the ones you want.
Also a hard reset is always a good reason to try another ROM

Depending on which files you edited..... you might be able to get them back by installing/uninstalling/reinstalling CHT..... maybe.....
Which particular files do you need...??
if by chance I have them backed up Ill post them for you... I dont have that many though....

There is a link in the FAQ section of the CHT thread's main post from Co0kie, for transparencies and some graphics restore cabs.
That should help answer some of your questions.
If you have any other questions still after looking at those cabs and files, let me know.
You can go directly to that thread to the first post where the link is, by clicking the CHT banner in my sig., or clicking the link above will take you there directly.

thanks for the responce guys! i'm actually not sure what manilla files they are lol, i just know there the ones which make the calendar and call history transparent. i've tried re-installing CHT but transparency is still there, it wasnt a cab see. i overwritten the original files with zip file on page one. but would like the glass panel look which dinik created. installing dinik theme the transparent calendar/call history is still there. someone who backed up the manila files before installing that zip file could help... were are they!! lol

I have attached the original files that you highlighted a couple of posts above...
in the zip file are the original files if you want to drop them in manually, or a cab file for if you want to do it the easy way - all it does is place the two manila files in the windows folder, and it's not going to appear in the applications list either (you can't 'uninstall it'), its a one-way cab.

Thanks for all your help guys but looks like its not to be. they were the right manila files but after getting rid of the transparency`s and installing diniks theme everything has the glass panels but calender/call history. maybe the rom i`m using is affecting the theme (cleanex rom). but again thanks for your help guys.

Why use .cab's for wallpapers instead of just plain pics?

Just curious. I always see people talking about making or sharing wallpaper cab's, and I am wondering what the advantage is of doing it that way instead of just saving pics to the storage card and setting from there? That''s what I do, but maybe I am missing a better way in these .cabs...

It's called HDwall. By default, the quality of wallpaper in HD2 is low..seems kinda blur. With this cab, it is possible to get higher wallpaper quality. Also u can set the taskbar and softkeybar background (u can make it looks as if transparent).
But that's old time.
With the new CHT 1.8.5 there's no need such application. It has this ability built in.

Because CAB files which contain wallpapers in Manila format can overwrite original manila files.

i love coOkies too but after installing them my HD2 freezes

I never figured out how to use Cookies with the wall cabs. I enable it then what? I have HD wall installed but either way I have to go to the cab file and use it that way. It makes me reset the phone whenever I change the wallpaper. Help?? Thanks.

man...u've done wrong...if u installed cht. no need anything else. that would make it crash. cht got everything. hdwall, bg4all tab. just cookie. np need anything else.

After the HDWall thingy installed via CHT 1.8 - I have an issue.
I do have plenty of sweet backgrounds to chose from. It all works fine with CHT except a feature that I did love very much - the Randomnes.
I have for several years both on Diamond and on HD2 used a .cab named:
Kevin2u Diamond Background Changer v015.
This .cab would pick a random picture from a designated folder every x minute as your liked it. After CHT v1.8 - this ain't working anymore. On CHT v1.7 it worked.
Have any of you guys been able to get a random picture prg. to run on top of CHT v1.8?
If so help me see the light as I really miss the feature that my phone has a new background every now and then when I grab it without manually picking a new picture.

So I go to miscellaneous settings and check what under wallpaper Regular, HD Wall or HQ Wall? I have tried them all but only the hd wall setting lets me access the Regular wallpapers not the cab files. Help?

If I installed the latest version of CHT, I already have HD Walls installed? all I have to do now is check HDwall in miscellaneous settings, download the cab for the wallpaper, install, and soft reset? Do I install to the card or device? And one more question, Do I have to uninstall aything to change to another HD wallpaper? Sorry for all the noob questions

Actually you can dl the cab and just run it without anything (Ithink). It's all within the cab. I believe hd wall is the organizer but it never worked for me. Not sure how CHT works in with this.

You don't need to install any cabs with CHT (1.8.5 at least, can't remember about 1.7).
From the home screen tap Menu>>Set Wallpaper. All of the options are there on the next screen (Home Tab, All Tabs, Lockscreen, Taskbar Skinning)
Sometimes the things in front of your eyes are the hardest to find!

Hi guys, I tried the search function as well but can't seem to find a solution to my problem.. Help is much much appreciated!
I'm on the Artimis Rom v25, with cookies 1.8.5, i downloaded the .cab wallpaper, tried to install.. didnt work, i downloaded the wallpaper fix download, Didnt work so i gave up... so i tried to go back to cookies editor to change my wallpaper back to the one i had, and it didnt work. I have a totally back wallpaper and can't seem to change it in anyway!
HelPPP i'm losing it!!......

Actually I have seen that but I was hoping to use some of the beautiful screens that were in those cabs. So in essence you have to dl some wallpapers and then use the settings you described. Thanks.

That's correct. If you really want the wallpapers that are in the cabs, I believe you can open the cab files on your pc and extract them manually. Don't quote me on that but it would seem logical. Or you could ask the OP of any walls you like to point you in the direction of the source.

Im using CHT 1.8.5 and I also install hdwall on my hd2 , just because i have 30 or more cabs, all with thumbs and the HDwall app gives you the ability to preview.You just dont have to install the patch anymore..It doesnt crash my HD2at with this configuration.

This really get on my nerves.
I keep opening threads, then find that it is for manilla only. Grrr...!
