thank you it's work great
Is there not a way to link it to your SD card because that would be the best scenario as it could hold more.Thanks.
Create My Ringtones folder in Storage Card, Copy your MP3 files to Storage Card\My Ringtones & use it when you set it. Copy .*mp3 flie to Windows\ & use for SMS, Alarm....!

Hello Everyone,
I have a question regarding ringtones. Currently music can be only played if they r placed on the main memory or root directory of the SD card. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make it so that it could be main memory and a specific folder on the SD card and not the root directory. I dont want to move the current audio files from the main memory to the sd card by changing the directory from "\windows\" to "\storage card\" but rather add "\storage card\ringtones\" or the equivalent.
Thanks

The first thing you want to do before posting is use the Search menu item at the top of the forum page - entering "ringtone directory" popped this up as the first Google search item, as just the first of many possible answers to your question.
Thanks for the Advice
hi.
is it possible to set a folder on the Sd card as the default ringtones folder for HTC S710 ?
i have to manually copy ringtones to the device memory in order to set them as ringtones (takes up valuabel device memory !)
already tried a registry tweak to set a folder on SD card as default tones but the tweak doesnot seem to work on wm 6.1 (the tweak page was for WM5)
p.s. using Gonzo's 6.1 WM.
There is a way
Simply create a folder in SDCard\My Documents\My Ringtones, it works for me
thanks for the reply shaunak.
i copied all my tones from device memory to "storage card/my documents/my ringtones" but still no go.
i must mention here that i have downgraded to the default htc rom.
do i need to still do all the 'registry tweaks' ?? how about some help ?
peace

Have you tried formatting your SD card partition? Just to be sure that the problem is not caused by corrupted filesystem.

Hello all,
I keep getting a message on my phone about my SD card being damaged and needs replacing. I bought a new SD card, so I was wondering if people knew of a seamless way to backup/directly transfer to the new SD card? An app.? Using my PC? Any help is appreciated.
I have always copied the old card's contents to a folder in my PC, then from the PC to the new card.

How do you go about the specific folders documents/pictures/app. data needs to go in? Any tips?
I've never had any issues just copying and pasting the folders and other contents as they are. Make sure you have your file explorer set to show hidden files and folders.

Thank you. Forgot when connecting my phone I can use HiSuite. Seems my SD card only has pictures, so should be a breeze to simply transfer those.
